I've experienced the burning season there and don't really want to be back there at that time.
But how is it living in CM outside of the burning season compared to the pollution experienced in Bangkok?
I'm considering moving to CM and just leaving the area during those 6-8 weeks each year.

It seems to me that the roads here are some of the worst I have ever driven on.
Any members here feel the need to use a dash cam and if so do you have any advice you can share.
Thank you.

He is the top for noses and he has people coming from the US and South Korea for nose and many Thais's . If you go to the top plastic surgery feedback sites in the US ( realself & makemeheal ) you can read lots of feedback . I will let him know your comments also and tell him there are those that shy away from coming because of website . If you are looking for top nose job you owe it to yourself to meet with him as consultation is free unlike many hospitals . He has and amazing surgical facility but also privileges at many hospitals if one want surgery there . If one is looking for cheap price he is not the guy but he one of most respected Dr.'s / teachers for noses in Bangkok if not considered number one . It's scary how so many Thais have noses done by Dr.'s who are so unskilled but cheap . Thanks for your reply I think it will be interesting to show him .
I'm sorry but I can't really believe when a person tells me people come from South Korea to Thailand for nose work.

Rent only from one of the large established firms - Avis, Hertz, etc. They have real first class insurance, with a deductible clearly stated. Sure, they cost more than the little guys, but pay a little now, and do not have to pay a lot later. On renting they have a handout with all the phone numbers you will need, and the procedure clearly spelled out of what to do when anything happens. Follow it to the letter, then smile, walk away, climb into your replacement rental car supplied by the same company, and drive away.
Thanks for the advice. I rented from National so think that should be okay. Hoping to stay safe on these not so safe roads.

I'm driving a rented car here and I find I have to concentrate all the time to avoid other vehicles and motorbikes bumping into me. It's so totally different from what I am used to and I am concerned not so much with causing an accident but with other vehicles / bikes driving into me.
Does anyone have any suggestions with what to do in the event of an accident? Should I call the police and if so how to call them? Any other tips?
Any advice would be much appreciated.

My girlfriend has visited Japan a few times and taken classes but her Japanese level is still very low.
Has anyone any experience of taking Japanese language classes at one of the language schools? Also can she enter the country and study using an ED visa for these classes?

Hardly a "waste" to get 5 mill cover for under 50K baht.
I've had BUPA for about 10 years, 3 claims in that period all piad directly to the hospital with no problem.
Usually problems arise whehe claim is during the first year of coverage, in which case they may suspect an undisclosed pre-existingcondition especially if it was something relatef to chronic disease like cancer, heart attack, stroke.
That said, with BUPA or any othet policy issued in Thailand there is the problem that they can legally cancel your policy at any time or up your premium above and beyond normal age telated increases. This isn't going to happen over a few claims but could if you develop a serious chronic condition likely to entail ongoing costs long term. Something to worry about especially if you are getting on in years and planning to live here for the duration. I'm looking now at international policies for that reason.
Sheryl, What international policies are you looking at. I know BUPA in UK seems to have no age limit. My father was still getting coverage by them at the age of 83.

That is pretty easy (assuming you mean a SE Asian nose and not a South Asian one, i.e. insertion of a bridge as opposed to cutting back a hooked nose).
Dr. Greechart at Yanhee is very well regarded
This doctor has many very good reviews but unfortunately there are a few posting in the last couple of years that say this doctor is no longer performing rhinoplasty work.

Professor Somyos Kunachak who was trained in Ramathibodi Hospital Mahidol University School of Medicine as well as from several academic bodies in Europe and America. He has been practicing plastic surgery in Thailand for more than 25 years and is running a private practice alongside his career as a fulltime Educator for more than 20years.
Thanks but I had a look at the web site and although the doctor may be good the site does not inspire confidence at all. Just my personal opinion but looks like a doctor who does a bit of everything rather than a specialist working in one of the best hospitals.

For an Asian or a western nose?

There is no "best hospital". It all depends on the surgeon. Suggest you do a search for the particular procedure you have in mind to find some doctor recommendations.
I'm not really sure how to do that search. Looking for nose work and would be interested to hear any recommendations, comments and tips from others who have had the procedure or who could suggest a good doctor and or hospital. Looking for a hospital rather than small clinic as I would like to be sure the place visited has everything needed should there be any problems.

I am considering getting a retirement visa and I understand I can do this based on UK income. I'm already over 50, on a visa exempt in Bangkok now, have just extended that and will be leaving Thailand to go to Philippines in 6 weeks for a one week visit before returning to Thailand.
Has anyone been through this process recently and do they have any tips that they could pass on.
Thank you.

My daughter in law had a nose job there last year (฿17 000). Seemed like an efficient and well run place, but who can really say which is the best in Bangkok? Nobodys going to show us staistics about failure rates.
Can you let me know the name of the doctor. Also how did she choose that doctor. My girlfriend would also like to have a nose job so would appreciate any recommendations or tips. Thank you.

I realize a lot depends on your choice of doctor but is Yanhee still considered as the best hospital for facial plastic surgery in Bangkok?

There's plenty in Plon Chit just outside the BTS station, near the big language school. I used one myself last week, cost about 500 per page.
I'm guessing the station has a few exits. Can you be a bit more specific to help me if I go there. Thank you

I have to admit I am puzzled by your question. I can not imagine a case where you would need such a document in Thailand. Maybe more information would get you the answer you need.
My experiences would say the sale of a Thai property is proven by the change in ownership documents from the land office.
As for the sale of a property overseas, Lopburi3's link points out that the U.S. Embassy/Consulate simply offers validation of your signature or certification of true copy. They do not certify the contents of a document are true or valid.
Hi, Sale of a property overseas. Thanks

Hello, Does anyone know where I can get a house sale document notarized in Bangkok?
Thanks in advance,

Moved to the Language School forum.
Thanks very much. I didn't see the language school forum and I will check that now. Sorry for posting in the wrong forum.

I know there are language schools on the top (4th? 5th?) floor of Central Bangna. You may want to go there and inquire
Thank you. I will do that.

Your question should read " does anyone know of any visa mills in the Bang Na area" as you are only concerned in the visa.
Thanks for your informative reply. All I can say is you must have a lot of time on your hands if you feel that it is necessary to reply in this manner. Luckily there are many members who help each other on the board and just a few members like yourself who troll the board looking for opportunities to make foolish comments.

Hi, Does anyone know of any language schools that teach the ED Language classes in the Bang Na area. I'm between Paradise Mall and Mega Bangna and would prefer any school in that area.
Thanks

Is anyone out there able to give me some information on how these two cities compare. I'm not interested in Bangkok for the bars so I'd like to know how the cities compare with standard of living, cost of living and things like that.
Thanks

I hope this isn't too annoyingly off topic, but have considered Medellin, Colombia? It's becoming quite the popular expat destination and the WEATHER is much more pleasant than Bangkok and especially Panama City.
Thank you for your suggestion. I'm interested to hear about the weather in those three places. Can you tell me your experiences. I've been to Bangkok many times but not the other two destinations.

I'm at the age of retirement and looking for a country to live in. I have been to most parts of Thailand and the kind of place I like is to live outside of a big city close to a modern shopping mall with easy access to an airport and hopefully clean air. I don't really need access to a beach.
Are there any members here who have been or lived in Panama City, who could give me some ideas about how BKK and Panama City compare.
Thank you
Chiang Mai vs Hua Hin (outside of the normal tourist areas and outside of burning season)
in Chiang Mai

For me both CM and Hua Hin tourst areas are places I like to avoid. I also plan to avoid the CM area if I moved there for the burning season.
Has anyone experience of living in both cities? Anyone moved from HH to CM or the other direction.
If there is anyone that has done that I would be interested to hear why they moved?
