Two that I recommend:
Fuzzy Ken's (Opposite Central Plaza Mall on Prajak Rd; 3 min walk from central bus station; 7 min from railway station). 6 days, early till late; closed Su. A wonderful hybrid: a restaurant serving Western food, a used bookshop and a shop selling hard-to-find Western foodstuffs (Bovril, Marmite, Heinz beans, Vegemite, meat pies). A Brit, Ken is a terrific source of local info. Serves beer and wine. Great website. Free Wi-Fi. Huge breakfast, 165 baht.
The Good Corner Restaurant and Bar, Nutti Park, Prachak Rd (Just around the corner from the "bar street"; across from UD Residence), ☎ +66 98 2065125. Daily, 09:00-23:00; kitchen closes 22:30. Owned by a Danish lady, serves breakfast, pizza and Thai food. Great quality and decent prices.

Full moon, 12th Thai lunar month (November) according to https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Public_holidays_in_Thailand

The Thais may be brainwashed into thinking that this demeaning behavior is somehow part of modern Thai culture and is a show of respect and honor, but I don't fall for that crap and neither should anyone else here. Certainly King Chulalongkorn, Rama V, saw the light nearly 150 years ago when he banned the practice.
It's definitely part of modern Thai culture. Whining about it doesn't change anything.
How the hell do you think change happens? Enough people "whine" et voila, changes are made.

Oops! I think it says, "do you want fries with that?"

Where's Thabo?

genuflect (third-person singular simple present genuflects, present participle genuflecting, simple past and past participle genuflected)
- (intransitive) To bend the knee, as in servitude or worship
- (intransitive) To behave in a servile manner; to grovel.
This is not it exactly, but not too far off.

That crap is hell on the environment. You can't hire some kid to scythe it down?
Actually it is not.
5555! Tell that to the bees and the Vietnamese.

You pay 400-500 baht when the cop who stopped you has a car or motorbike payment due.

What do those girls get paid, anyway? I would guess very little. Do they get tipped well? Or their bottoms pinched more?
Some of them seem to probably spend more on make-up than they could possibly take in in an evening.
Otherwise, speaking of pretties --- other than note that Thailand is clearly overloaded with them --- what about the ones at all the cosmetic counters. Do they really make a living ? Well, maybe they get free cosmetics.
12,000 a month basic is the going rate. Bonuses and tips bring the better Pretties up to 30,000 a month.
I am writing an article and would like to quote these figures. Can you tell me where they came from?

I think Kan Air's financial situation is precarious and they are not long for this world.

Overrated. Overpriced.

In Chiang Mai I went to CM Ram Hospital. I had a hearing trauma (fireworks). The MD saw me and sent me to the audiologist, an older, experienced lady who spoke excellent English. She had an audiology lab that seemed well equipped. I don't know about the specific tests you need, but do check with Ram. I came away from there with a computer generated map of my hearing loss.

I left out a very important fact in my post above: the accounts I refer to there were savings accounts. In Phang Nga I also had a 1-year term deposit with BB. In CM I tried to access these funds. No dice. I had to go to my Phang Nga BB branch to do it. So account mobility is dependent on the type of account.
-
I think he is talking about Zoe in Yellow in CM.

I originally opened a BB account in Phuket (Patong). Then moved to Phang Nga. Closed my Phuket account at the Phang Nga branch. Then moved to Chiang Mai. Opened an account in CM, and retained my Phang Nga account. When I iBank with BB, I can see my Phang Nga account, with a minimal balance, and my CM accounts. I can transfer funds between then easily if I cared to.

I don't understand "less restrictive". What is less restrictive than going to Arcade and getting on a bus to Lampang? BFD.

Damn! Now I will have to get a Thai to send my drug-laden packages!

I bought a Hatari (Thai) floor fan. It broke after a week. I replaced it with an absolutely silent Mitsubishi model. Mind you, it's not wall-mounted.
