There is a problem getting much vaccine from anywhere because global production capacity is insufficient. This article predicts that it will take 4.6 years to vaccinate the world at the present rate:
Not to mention that CP has a financial stake in the Sino-vaccine production. The only reason it's approved.

Why is no one in government calling for emergency measures to expedite vaccination approval, acquisition, allocation and distribution? The vaccines are available NOW and their are far more reliable options available than AstraZeneca with questionable record on accuracy of information regarding efficacy and reliability. The Sino-vaccine is an absolute joke. J&J has a global 66% efficacy it seems like their are better options.

The best way to keep your numbers of infected low, is to charge high rates for tests to decrease the likely hood actual legitimate tests per-capita rates. Ipso facto a low infection rate.

To what countries can you currently travel with a «government certified "Vaccine Passport"»
It's about coming back to Bkk. There are many countries I can travel to for my work now. I just can't return to Bkk without the quarantine process every time. A Thai vaccine passport should make residents returning easier.

And yet the Baht stays resilient???

I hope that comes with a government certified "Vaccine Passport" so I can resume traveling for work!

Mortality rates are not the only danger this pandemic has. Their are many long term side effects that have been reported by survivors of the virus.
Many of the hardest hit countries have seen the virus overwhelming the hospital system. That leads to a disruption in basic health services for all. Countries without nationalized health care and free and readily available testing have no idea the numbers of actual infected due to the cost of not only testing but also seeking treatment.

Thailand has had many Manufacturing and tech jobs in the past. Many left after the big flood (Western Digital, Scandisk) and more left after the last coup when companies could not get insurance on their European and North American staff. Thailand has lost a lot because of this and the increased value of the THB.

Without tourists the majority of bars will not be able to remain open. Most are not paying rent at the moment. If the bars are empty and they have to go back to paying exorbitant rents they won't last long.

I was in Korea about 10 days ago. Now I have a cold or flu like symptoms. Cough, phlegm, and runny nose. I want to get tested for Corona but Samitivej wants 10000thb for a test that has no treatment. No way Thai's are paying that. Internet searching doesn't give any other testing locations.

I notice he just skates over the high taxes on many things in the kingdom. Starbucks has been more expensive here than the US for years, even before the current strength increase of the Bhat. A decrease in the newest liquor tax would go a long way to help.

Brought to you by the Taxi Mafia.

The Thai way is that they overcharge those 39 million tourists to make up any financial shortfall.

However, stories like this are why people favored Uber so much, yet the taxi Mafia wouldn't have it. Until they start policing their own, we'll keep seeing stories like this
Settle down clueless person who's obviously not in and has no real experience in Thailand. There is no Uber in Thailand it was bought by Grabtaxi ages ago.

I was going for work and I have a heavy work bag and an overnighter and a briefcase. It's a pain to lug it around. Plus in the 5 plus years, I have lived here I have never had this problem.
