  1. Yamaha = good.

Would you buy a guitar from Honda or Kawasaki?

    ?

    Ok then.

I have no idea what this is supposed to even mean??? Are you on the piss today to make up for the lack of alcohol yesterday?

That's it! papa "on the piss."

    ?

Yamaha was established in 1887 as a piano and reed organ manufacturer by Torakusu Yamaha as Nippon Gakki Company, Limited. in Hamamatsu, Shizuoka prefecture and was incorporated on October 12, 1897. The company's origins as a musical instrument manufacturer are still reflected today in the group's logo—a trio of interlocking tuning forks.

I'm aware.. I'm a musician.. But what do guitars have to do with motorcycles?

  2. There is a new dentist on the road around Bueng Palan Chai ... been open about 6 months shiny new 2 storey corner building you can't miss it. Think it is called Identist. Well that's what the big sign say's!

As to whether they are good or not ....i'll pass!

    TBWG

Yeah I saw that. Was gonna give it a shot but figured I'd ask around first. Nobody I know here in town has been there yet so I've not gotten feedback on it.

  3. I'm in the midst of a roadtrip on mine. Did about 450 km on it yesterday, mixture of highways and backroads. The bike was a blast and I have no complaints. It was comfortable and handled everything with ease.

I loved my CBR250, but have found the CB300f a much better bike. More comfortable and quicker throttle response. I'm definitely looking forward to the longer road trips.

This is my first naked bike. I think the only benefit of fully faired bike is that I did get blown around a bit when I was passing semis at highway speeds.

My bike before this was a Ninja 300. It was a lot of fun, but I think the CBF makes a better daily bike. More comfortable, more power in the lower RPMs (meaning you don't have to wring it out in town), and more maneuverable.

  5. rocketboybkk - please stop harassing me and please don't send me any more PMs

I don't have a bar girl wife. I'm young and single. Settling down at the age of 24 is of no interest to me.

I speak Thai. I can read and write too fwiw.

    I'm not from the UK.

I lived in "real" Thailand before (you can discern where form my post history if you fancy). I've also lived in Bangkok. I don't like Bangkok. I liked living in a small town.

I do have a career. Two, actually.

You're mad because you're a massive <deleted> w/ no clue what you're talking about (people in Isaan don't understand/speak 'regular' Thai? lol eff off). You'll be ignored from now on so don't bother responding.

  6. Not in a month it won't.

They speak a dialect of Lao

You'll be more confused than ever

Oh get over yourself. People in Isaan can speak "regular" Thai just <deleted> fine. Especially in Khoan Khaen. I've been all over Isaan and don't speak ANY of the dialect (all I know is the 'bo' particle). I get by totally fine and everyone I encounter is generally thrilled that I can speak 'regular' Thai. No one other than you and your high horse give a damn whether or not a foreigner is going to speak their specific dialect.

OP - if you really immerse yourself your Thai will improve dramatically in a month.

  7. Khon Khaen is the better of the two imo. Though I've admittedly spent more time there than Udon. Since it has one of the bigger unis in Thailand, and definitely the biggest in Isaan, there is a large amount of young people and places to hang out. If you don't look like a troll and can speak enough Thai to be 'narak' you'll clean house, if that's your goal.

How long were you in Khon Kaen ?

How did you find it as a farang ?

I get the feeling there won't be many young farang living at all. Unless there students

I never lived in KK, but I lived close enough that I'd go for a weekend or holiday once a month or so.

I really enjoyed it. I didn't meet any other people my age (early 20s) but then again I wasn't looking for that. But yeah stay near the uni, plenty of fun bars and clubs. KK also has all the comforts you'd find in the other big cities. I'm sure there are at least a few younger farang teaching in the town or nearby.

  9. Went to Bikers today and picked up some new bar ends and brake/clutch levers. Great shop, great service, and the parts seem to be great quality.

Can anyone recommend a slip-on that is relatively quiet? I hate the look of the OEM exhaust, but am hesitant to get anything noisy.

  10. Try to date a girl from a local 7 eleven . Some of them are really nice and speak a little bit of english .

Not mentioned, the baggage these girls bring with them.

Who in gawds name would even consider a girl from sewen as marriage material?

They are working in 7 for a reason.

Of course if the OP is 50+, weighs about 300 kilos, by all means get a 7 girl.

His biggest ploblem, sorting out the wheat from the chaff, lack of Thai langauge wont help.

Let me guess another TEFLr type going to the ass end of nakon nowhere.

Thanks for the "like" note, but really now! For heaven sake, ole man, lighten up! The OP is just a kid, compared to you! Sigh! whistling.gif

    Not a TEFL'r.

I speak Thai (and read and write).

I've previously lived in a city much smaller than the one I'm moving to.

Not sure why the hate. Jealousy? Is it worth lamenting the younger people kicking about who are actually able to enjoy the country as opposed to spending their days sat in a teak hut in the middle of nowhere passing your time on TV forum?

  11. I was at a Tesco yesterday and took this photo. (TX tag)

My MC arrived from the US last week and still has Kentucky plates on it. They said it would take 3 months for my plates to arrive. I"m riding with KY plates and will see how far it will get me.

    Where bouts in Kentucky?

OP: I am still waiting for plates and have been stopped at two checkpoints since buying the new bike. Both times showed them the dealership receipt and had no problems.

We were in a little town call London, south central KY on I75.

Very familiar with it. Born and raised in KY myself.
