  1. Hello,

If one go to a private clinic and make a PCR test and test positive what does the clinic do besides giving the result?
Do they have any obligations to report to authorities to hunt one down like a dog and lock in an expensive "hospital", like the Israeli guy?

I know for a fact thai people making a positive antigen test, go to a hospital for PCR, queening for hours only to be sent back home because they cant serve everyone.

    Thanks,

I wish I could have got a METV - London embassy took the £150 fee off my credit card but then said that they could only give me a 60-day SETV. No refund of the difference of course, a bit like dealing with Thai Airways!

At this point with land borders closed and amnesty what benefit do you see with METV? One can only stay 60 (+30) days in the country.

0.5% is the base rate set by the MPC at BOT. Individual banks use that as the base to determine the rates of interest they will pay customers on savings and how much they will charge to lend for loans, including mortgages. As the base rate moves so do most of the other rates for new loans, not for existing ones, unless a variable rate loan is in effect.

As I understand all mortgages are based on BOT MRR rate? Have MRR moved at all? Should not  the base rate reflect on consumers or do banks just use the lower MPC rates to increase their margins?
Comparing to Europe mortgages here are very expensive.

Also, Thailand is not deepest, darkest Africa where people are starving due to droughts. Yes, they may be doing it tough (like everywhere else). But look at the average Thai - many are quite over fed,  to the point of being obese. Clearly Thailand isn't 3rd world but quite a well to do developing nation, with plenty of wealthy people that should have the responsibility of looking after their own. Not someone with the saint complex handing out rations of rice. Sheesh.

Agree. These people live in fantasy land. "Help one person and you have helped the world! We shall overcome!" and pat each other on the back with "good work mate!". so much happiness bought with small gestures and small money.

How about start a Farang crowdfund to help thais with minimum donation 50 000 bath. Any farang can afford it but very few would donate.

Go ahead and "help" but please don't look down on people who does not participate or raise you to sainthood for these gestures. It's like giving a tip at the bar.
