  1. When I stop laughing at the improbability of this actually having any effect, I will sit down and consider the ramifications of this plan.

1 Police need to be firm and fair in exercising the LAW ( That is if the Polcie actually know the law in the first place ).

2 Increase the severity of the driving test and renewal procedures to remind people of the real dangers of driving .

3 Anyone caught driving without a licence immediate One month in prison no matter who they are.

4 Insurance companies top insure the driver and nominated vehicle.

5 overloading by goods or people , insurance automatically invalid apart from 3rd party injury payments.

6 Speeding and overloading  by passenger carrying vehicles automatic ban for one year and the company involved possible suspension of operators licence .

    7 Underage riding/ driving , parents automatically fined 10,000:00 baht .

Not that I for one moment would think that any of the above will be implemented therefore it will never happen.

  2. Allthough I do feel for this guy who allegedly got kicked out of Thailand for spurious, and that his age is against him, going to the press in hopes of getting a way back in is NOT going to work and to be honest the amount of time spent by people about him is becoming tedious, he lost, he is not here BUT he is alive and I presume reasonably healthy. Get over it,  man up and move on.

  3. With the report out about the level of pollutants in Thai home grown vegetables, I would think that the Government would be addressing that , using some of its vast Foreign reserves and spend money improving the farming industry, rather than papering over the cracks.

I will not under any circumstance buy Thai locally grown vegetables , I like my health a lot more than have more money for beer.

Falling Thai prices , not surprised when most of it could make you ill; .

  4. Easy to stop the overloading, Police stop buses with children on, if the loading was say 16 children, then fine the driver 2000 baht for every child over that number and arrange for another empty bus to pick up the children. Most of these buses are owned by a consortium then as the financial cost of defying the law becomes too much stupid drivers will either stop doing it or abide by the law. Hit them where it hurts in their pockets.; Plus if an accident occure the insurance refuse to pay for injures for more people that the bus is licensed to carry. Not rocket sc ience but I have never YET seen a Baht bus stopped by police for overloading yet in  15 years.
