  1. Most of the people saying that are miserable old farang pensioners commenting from their isolated Isan homes, deprived of any proper emotional connection, causing their vile prejudices to fester. From what I've seen, most cannabis shop owners are smart, young Thai people who are very well-educated and very knowledgeable and doing very well for themselves.
  2. A bunch of ultranationalist, far-right royalist extremists. Let's hope they don't manage to win a handful of seats and become part of the next cobbled together coalition once the winners are banned again.
  3. Never understood why this gets so many people so upset. The dogs rarely bite anyone, they're friendly. I'd say irate farangs are generally more of a nuisance. Maybe cull them to?
  4. This is actually true, you don't even have to go into the immigration office usually. just hand over your passport, bank book and the readies, and you're good to go.
  5. Where do you come from? Im from the UK and I got picked up by two coppers once while hitching a ride to work. They said they felt sorry for me lol. They were very friendly, except for one odd moment when there was a pause in the conversation and one of them looked at me in the mirror, and said "do I know you?", insinuating that I might actually be "known" to the police. I just replied, I've never been nicked and I don't generally hang out with "filth" so I doubt it. Luckily he found it amusing and laughed.
  6. Probably the kid couldn't answer the question because the teacher sucks at his job, and then takes it out on them. If a teacher ever did such a thing to my kid, they would not need to be disciplined for I would do it myself.
  7. Maybe because their families are utterly broke and struggle to pay for the uniforms, books, transport and everything else their kids need to go to school? You don't seem to know very much. In Isan, the vast majority of kids leave school after Mathayom 3, when they are 15 years old.
  8. Who rents a "two-bedroom flat" anyway? Most Thais live in a single room, often sharing it with one or more others
  9. Some people just don't have the first clue what real problems are about...
  10. Jail the entitled price for manslaughter
  11. They always bring up how prices haven't changed in however many years, but that's just the flat fee. Several times, they have adjusted how quickly the meters tick up, to account for rising costs faced by drivers. But they're still paid peanuts, and 20 baht is not going to make a blind bit of difference.
  12. Just wait till he grows up, those things get insanely huge
  13. The people laughing at you are the ones who cause all of these problems. The interference in people's lives and privacy is off-the-scale and totally unjustified, but they're too ignorant and naive to see that it's anything but "normal". It's amazing to see the gullibility of such otherwise intelligent people...
  14. I thought you only needed to show proof of funds for the extension, not the original visa application (which just gives you 3 months). Or did that change?
