Good to hear the Burmese were cleared. For quick closure I hope the evidence ends with the backpacker. Less damage to Thailand's identity for visitors. At least every inch of a break that Thailand gets now is a good break.

Most of the flying is in the autopilot. Take off is manual. Landing can be manual or on autopilot, if airport and airplane equipped.

At least AirAsia or Nokair do not charge for toilet use...

Pilot in Command normally seats in the left seat. But he can be in the right seat with another pilot doing Command training/upgrade in the left seat. There is always only one Pilot in Command in the aircraft even if two Captains are flying.

At this time, THAI does NOT hire any foreign pilots. They may have in the past and who knows what the future will bring, but there are NO indications at this stage that their policy will change. In general, all Thai based airlines MUST give priority to Thai nationals for cockpit crew positions.

TG will always get pilots from Thai Army and will not employ foreigners. They don't even employ women pilots (company policy). Even if they have Thai passport...

I'd fly on TG any time. But their prices are at least 20-50% more than other carriers on the same route. Or even double like Bangkok Madrid route.
