  1. Wow... I hate to be a pessimist but, I can't see China or India stepping up to the plate here sadly :D

Look how China treats it's own commoners and protestors :/

I have a huge disdain for the American foreign policy and current government but if no one else is willing to lend a hand to such a valiant effort to combat oppression and attain the freedoms I take for granted every day then all the power to the Yanks and shame on the UN and shame on anyone who can turn a blind eye.

Money; the root of all evil.

As usual, everyone has disdain for the US until it rescues their ass. Pathetic.

"I have a huge disdain for the American foreign policy and current government"

since you obviously didn't take your head out of yur ass prior to reading.

I'd define current and foreign policy but I'm going to go out on a limb here and give you the benefit of the doubt that you can moderately comprehend these intellectual words :o

  3. So let me get this straight... if I get shooved off the 10th story of a building, and say I die. The cause of death will be ruled, that I hit my head on the concrete and thus died? But the fact that someone caused me to hit my head will not be labeled as murder??

######.. who needs a hit man..

The person who wrote the news article obviously has a good, but limited ability with English. Still it says :"The police suspects that the Dane was murdered by the girl with whom he was fighting. "

The bit that follows was poorly written, but it clearly states that she is suspected of murdering him.

It doesn't matter whether a Thai is suspected of murdering or attacking a farang, or a farang is believed to have murdered or attacked a Thai... On the ThaiVisa message board the Thai will automatically be guilty based on nothing more than a poorly written, second hand news article (and often even less evidence than that) and the farang will always be the victim or else he will have been justified in what he did because of provocation.

Of course On TV, almost all the articles reported involve Thai on farang violence. The daily reports in Pattaya of farang violence seem not to be newsworthy.

Why not more stories like this:

A young Scottish national was drunk and driving a Honda Jazz car around Pattaya on 1st April. At approximately 3.30 am he hit a Thai man who works as a garbage collector leaving the man scarred for life.

The Dongtan police received a report early on Sunday morning from staff from a 7-Eleven stores on Jomtien Beach Soi 13 that an accident between a car and a local garbage truck occurred in front of the store and there was someone seriously injured at the scene.

On arrival the team found that the Honda Jazz car, driven by drunken Mr. Gordon James McCarry, aged 24, from Scotland, smashed into the rear of the garbage truck when the injured was standing behind the truck collecting garbage.

The injured man was crying in pain. He is aged around 50 and could not give any statement other than cry. Both his legs were chopped off from the hit and he had lost a lot of blood. The team had to quickly bandage his legs together and sent him to the hospital.

As for McCarry; he could not give any statement either since he was completely drunk. The officers measured up to 211 milligrams percent in him, which is way over the limit of 50 milligrams according to Thai law.

Probably the response would be that the garbage collector was not collecting garbage in a farang approved manner.

In the proper TV style, I'll speculate that McCarry's family bought his way out of this by giving the poor man's family some pittance. I don't know that that's true, but making wild accusations based on personal prejudices is sure fun, isn't it?

I do hope that the young Scottish Man is now in prison and will remain there for a long time. I hate the bad image that some Farangs give, that sticks to the rest of us. There are an awful lot of Fat Useless Losers here, I try very hard to avoid them. You can see some of them riding about on Big Noisy ego boosting penus extending motor cycles, owning the road, intimidating normal citizens. I believe in in equality, honesty and justice. I detest corruption, inequality, injustice, the inability to deliver services as promised. What do you believe in?

I have no clue who you are but, I have a strong feeling you're a complete and utter tool that just needs to be on the otherside of the spectrum 'just because'

In North America/Europe... most countries 'round the world. When a spouse is murdered where do the authorities almost always point the finger right away? Obviously they look for the closest Thai person in proximity to discriminate against :o

No... they investigate the people closest to the victim first, cases of husbands/wives being hounded even with solid alibi's, yet you say it's wrong to hold her accountable with the limited yet hard evidence? This is a crime of passion and Thai women tend to have a lot of that good ol' passion !

Let's break it down;...the person he formerly had strong ties to with an obviously rocky relationship comes over and has an arguement... things go quiet so a concerned neighbour checks in on Mr.During and he's "apparently" been beat down quite harsh... not much quite like a broken hip. I'm sure he fell quite hard in his 1 story home :D

I'm losing track and really don't want to re-read what I just typed 'cause I've gotta head but, you sir are entitled to your opinion but, please refrain. I just don't see how accusing the TV community of discrimination when I'm sorry but if you've ever even been to Thailand it's quite the opposite so give your head a shake, dude.

I love Thai people but I hate Thai justice.

    Err injustice.

In my short time in Thailand I saw way too many drunk white dudes get beat down by multiple sober Thai's and only one was slightly deserved. So much 'hidden :D ' animosity in the kingdom.

  4. what a load of bullocks ....................

bet the figures are totally inaccurate

    Based on what?

If you have more accurate figures, why not share them and cite the source.

Or is this another farang fairy tale?

, they need to define the types of beds ( 5 star resorts / guest house )

smells of a misguided attempt to raise the snob value :o

Yes, far better to promote more backpackers and patrons of the bar-beer type of establishment.

One family of high spenders generates more income and more employment than a whole lot of the free spirits who spend B100 a day on MacDonald's fare and some cheap room or are permanently attached to a bar stool intent on getting puking drunk.

    Haha you weiner!

Yea how 'bout we bring in more middle-aged men to boost the already thriving "mistress of the night" industry :D

100b a day on Rotton Ronnies AND accomodation?! This is Phuket we're talking about... for one any sort of meal at McDicks will run you over 100b... the cheapest place I could find in Patong Beach was this hotel type establishment that was relatively empty in early December last year... it cost us 250b a night each for 7 of us for two family rooms. It was a nice place though

  5. There will always be corruption.

It's human nature to want more as easy as possible.

Why do people play the lottery or go to casinos?

Someone might go into office with the best intentions but end up with "opportunities" he/she never had before to gain, be it political or financial. I am in no way justifying anything about Thaksin's alleged wrong doings because I don't have nearly enough information from all sides to base any kind of non-biased opinion.

I'm saying that this seems a bit lame... especially the whole "ZOMG Ms.Auditor is my heeeero!!!!"

You got yur protagonist and antagonist already!

    <snip>

  6. It is debatable whether or not these friends would have acted in the same manner had they been sober. Even the victim accepted the lift. Obviously being drunk blurs one's vision and thoughts. I think that we should blame all of them for not having someone chosen as staying sober.

As far as how the tuk-tuk driver is concerned, well, anyone who has lived in Thailand for more than 3 weeks knows that most of the ones in Phuket are annoying (and I am being polite). I did not find them to be nearly as bothersome in the North. And, most of them in Phuket are after money. They fake to be helping you. Whatever you are looking for is always 2 km or very far. Test them. Ask them to tell you how far a known location is and you'll know if they are trying to rip you off. In other words, most of them cannot be trusted.

As far as the rape goes, let's remember that many women are not exactly the most reputable kinds out there too. They lie too. (Of course, some men are liars too.) So, it is possible that she did lie. However, assuming she did not let him on or that her behaviour did not make him believe that she was interested (another possibility), this is tantamount to a person walking with a Rolex watch in the middle of Bogota or showing a dog a bowl of water when it has not being drinking for days. As a man, I am very aware of what I should wear and show when I am walking around in poorer places around the world. Of course, if I were to be getting drunk, I might not be as aware or rational and make mistakes. I doubt that this situation would have taken place had those women (or one of them) been sober. If Í were to choose not to wear a condom while having sex with an unknown partner who has VD, even though both parties would be guilty of negligence, I would pay the ultimate penalty, no matter what. NOth aprties would be guilty. One for non-disclosure and one for acting foolishly.

When you make mistakes, you sometimes have to pay the price. So, this is all about negligence, engendered by large consumption of alcohol. And, if the guy did take advantage, it was the girls negligence that provoked it. He was not drunk (one would assume), so I would think that both parties are guilty. This is a grey situation.

Adults have to take responsibilities for their actions.

PS: Even though I know Thailand is a fairly safe place, one should be careful that things at night changes (especially when people drink). That's everywhere in the world. (Also Thai guys must hate farang guys who are stealing their potential GFs. Maybe some of them hate foreigners as a result as well. It must be frustrating for them.)

Sorry for the ... short post. :o

Well... I'm going to have to 100% disagree with this.

I don't give two shits what the girls were doing or how drunk they were... he raped her. From what I've already read , taking it as fact not fiction, he's obviously guilty and a ###### tard.

No one is responsible for this crime other then the Thai man who commited the crime.

I'm sick of people trying to spread out the blame for certain things because they were "provoked"

What seperates us from animals and makes us human is having the knowledge and the reason to know right from wrong. He knew he was doing wrong and all the girls are guilty of is having too good a time to slow down and think reasonably/soberly.

Last time I checked being foolish wasn't a crime punishable by rape... maybe Thai law has changed since I was last there?

I'm all for making that vile cretin suffer; like his victim will for years to come.

  7. ...those bushes. They've been acting up lately." Suddenly from the underbrush a Canadian burst out running hard, harder then any Canadian has run since Ben Johnson became the fastest man in the world. Suegha, Old Croc and Glauka shared puzzled looks as they gathered themselves up off the ground where the Canadian had forced them with his massive shove. "What was that about?" questioned Croc. I'm not quite su..." started Suegha whose eyes had grown the size of tea cup saucers. Croc turned around to see what the fuss was about and noticed a very large...

  8. Well, that girl got crazy and she already had this wild idea that I couldn't talk to her while I was gone or email her so that shit ended and quick I should say.

Also, we were never "officially" dating 'cause to be completely honest, I didn't want to go to Thailand with a girlfriend. She wanted me to date her but, I said "No."

Yes, I really do prefer the imported stuff, it's much finer in my own personal opinion.

Anna went home last night so now it's my turn to visit Denmark. Ooo

  9. Glad to hear you had a nice time Jesse, as we all wait with baited breath for your adventures :D also good to know you got home in one piece :D:D

Hah yeah, all in one piece :D Just gotta hit up the clinic now... :o

As for my Danish beauty. She's cooking pancakes in my kitchen right now and I didn't meet her in Cambodia. I met her in Pai then we went to Cambodia.

I'm fairly sure there's more then one Dane travelling in Thailand but, maybe not anymore since it's a bad thing to hold a Danish passport these days...

  10. Croc, your pic looks a lot like the croc warning pic at Dusit Zoo in Bkk! The one warning you to keep all limbs on the safe side of the glass because the croc can jump crazy high.

I brought my Danish beauty home with me. She actually just got off the plane from Denmark yesterday and is staying 9 days.

You're right it's ###### cold! My second day back it was -15 with the windchill!!! Jeeeeeesus! 45 degree climate change! Crazy stuff.

I'll be sure to write a detailed account of my journey in word then post it online for anyone that's interested in my adventures. It was quite the adventure.

Anyone interested in reading my adventure?

  11. Hello people of thaivisa forums.

I figured I'd just drop everyone a line, including the haters, saying I had a wonderful time in Thailand and extended my trip by 10 days so I came home the Feb 15th.

I also went to Cambodia during my travels and met a beautiful Danish girl.

    My trip was amazing.

  12. Canada's been smoke-free for a while now and it's great!! I like reading in the newspapers about wank smokers complaining that they are people too and deserve to be able to smoke. Then people will write a response to this saying something as surpising as "Smokers are not people too, they are a parasite!"

Also, in Thailand people kept complaining about the pictures on the cig packages saying they are horrid. In Canada ours are 100 x worse, most are disgusting.

  13. Bangkok - Nov 5-6

    Koh Pha-ngan - Nov 6-21ish

    Patong Beach - Nov 22-Dec 2

Phi Phi Don - Dec 2-12

    Ko Lanta - Dec 12-17

    Bangkok - Dec 17-24

    Chiang Mai - Dec 24-Present...

My travels as they currently are.

  14. Okay Bambi, I'm not trying to be mean or anything of the sort but, I really can't understand your posts. I've tried but, I've given up.

***2 paragraphs deleted - Clean up your language***

It's amazing how so many people can change their views on a dime like that. No wonder the world's so wacked. People and their indecisivness. Like me or hate me, to be honest I don't care that much because all I'm doing is sharing my perspective on things thus far and if you don't like, meaning mostly you Turok, then please save your and more importantly my time and just don't read it and don't reply because negative comments are just fuel for flame wars which is exactly what I don't want flooding my threads.

    Thanks, I really appreciate it.

As for Nong Toom, I know a fair bit about him/her 'cause I studied Muay Thai back home aswell as here. He/She save his earnings and got totally changed and even would dress up for fights.

See, I'm not bashing ladyboys even though it disgusts me that anyone would want to try to trick someone into thinking their someone they are not but, Nong Toom makes his own choices and even though I may not agree with his lifestyle... it's his life so he can whatever he wishes. I was hating in thieves.

I think I might order a few reading comprehension classes for the people. I was going to say books but... that won't help the illiterate.

  15. I never accepted any drinks from anyone I don't know... that's something I wouldn't do back home.

As for food. The food I tried was food they were eating themselves and I came up with my friends and WE were looking at it asking how much and they gave us a taste. With the girls, we tried their food and then they went and got more and paid for it for us.

Using what words? I'm a little confused.

My friend was the one that said to the mutant "Give me my money back you c unt" I've never used the word c unt. It's a dirty demeaning word.

And that wasn't a fukcing woman dude. It was a ladyboy I was talking about. I figured you lot knew enough about me to know I'm not an ignorant womanizing whelp :o

I wouldn't call any woman regardless of nationality or profession a c unt or any such thing. And I'll say again I called the LADYBOY a whore. It wasn't even a ladyboy it was a guy with a purse.
