  1. You're out of your league, kid... Trump's team will destroy you, I hope.
  2. "Hello, is this the Four Seasons, Dubai? I'd like to make a reservation for Friday, please"...
  3. Sometimes I feel like I'm in the wrong forum. I experience few if any problems in Thailand. I have companies and work permit and yellow tabien baan and pink ID card - everything is fairly straight forward. I do have lawyers to help with things when needed, but these kind of services are easily available. I have an outstanding quality of life and do ok. 2-week tourists should also have minimal hassles, apart from typical tourist scams. So, who are all the whiners? Long stay tourists? If you can't find decent rent, reasonable insurance (or not), cheap food and fun, and enjoy life in Thailand...then try Vietnam of the Philippines - you will enjoy it for a while...but you'll be back. Personally, I enjoy it with fewer people around...
  4. ...so redacting the 60-day visa back to 30-days...and launching a 10 year visa instead? The 99-year lease is a good idea.
  5. It's quite amazing that nonces look like you expect a nonce to look...
  6. I pay out the wazoo for US imports - Shoes, audio stuff, bike parts...and whilst tax isn't exactly the same as tariffs, it still makes importing from the US expensive. So, this was inevitable, and long term, will benefit the US.
  7. One of my resort guests drove to Laos today to extend his visa (US passport) in 1-day, as he had completed his 60-day and 30-day extension, and was planning on staying 19 more days. He was told he would have to spend 3 nights in Laos to then get a visa back to Thailand. This was the sign that is up. Is this a new thing? How are the Chiang Mai visa agents handling this? He tried some "encouragement", but the immigration were adamant. Be interested if anyone else has similar issue...or has this been an issue for a while and I am not up to date?

  9. I'm happy to let smokers have their space...but because the spaces are generally small, poorly ventilated and grim, they prop the door open to let some clean air...allowing all the smoke to escape. I doubt it will happen.
  10. Thailand is what it is. It will not, and cannot change. Trying to compete at Japan's level is ridiculous. Thailand will stay with what it has - beaches, temples, cheap food and entertainment...and sooner or later, casino's. They are different...not same same.
  11. How about just honor the 10,000 baht digital wallet you were elected on...oh, wait...
  12. I think that amount was just my wife being scammed...pretty sure you you could multiply this by 1,000 and still be short... Australia was AUD$2.73 Billion dollars in 2023 as a comparison.
  13. No. It will all be negotiated and likely BOI, with lots of work permit, tax and favorable terms for Google. This is a terrific initiative, as was Microsofts, and the supporting industries it will foster. The naysayers are just not very bright.
