  1. Thailand is what it is. It will not, and cannot change. Trying to compete at Japan's level is ridiculous. Thailand will stay with what it has - beaches, temples, cheap food and entertainment...and sooner or later, casino's. They are different...not same same.
  2. How about just honor the 10,000 baht digital wallet you were elected on...oh, wait...
  3. I think that amount was just my wife being scammed...pretty sure you you could multiply this by 1,000 and still be short... Australia was AUD$2.73 Billion dollars in 2023 as a comparison.
  4. No. It will all be negotiated and likely BOI, with lots of work permit, tax and favorable terms for Google. This is a terrific initiative, as was Microsofts, and the supporting industries it will foster. The naysayers are just not very bright.
  5. Not debating the quality of Thai products, but they are not exactly earth shattering design, unique or have worldwide appeal. Surely they make some interesting products that are on trend, interesting and world beaters... ...or is that a bit much to think.
  6. I think the more pertinent question is "with who's money?".
  7. Congratulations Ahmet, you just graduated your MBA in Thai scams with a D-. Now return home to Syria Sweden and re-join Thaifreindly with you new found knowledge.
  8. This math is off. In Macau, "10% of the population" visit the Casino. "Applying this metric to Thailand"..."projects 37 million Thai residents could be potential casino visitors"...which is more like 50%+ of the population, children included. In 2024, they are projecting 36million tourists, or 3 times the 2022 numbers...so the 1.1million foreign projects are off...and where did the 37million Thai potential visitors disappear to? If this was a business plan, it would be a big FAIL.
  9. To be fair, that's pretty cool. Not very bright...but cool, none the less.
  10. This is not going to age well.
  11. "Daddy, it's them again. They keep asking about this 10 thousand baht thingy...what should I tell them?".
  12. I will never comprehend why a foreigner would marry a Thai woman. And if the answer is "for a visa", that's even worse. There is zero upside. Recreational use only. Outsource everything else.
  13. Optimism? Absolutely. Baseless. Not so much. Cares what you think. Not at all.
  14. Foreigners are caught in the net of taxing foreign remittance...but they are not the target. There is probably more chance they will recant the new tax law, than keep it. Time will tell.
  15. Incorrect. He could not have manipulated and manoeuvred as brilliantly as he has without a prior script agreed by all players., He is far to clever to return to Thailand without a plan, and he has executed it to perfection. ...now, if he's only recant this money from overseas tax ruling...
