I love to read good story's about Thai People, there are so many great and nice people in Thailand. And it's so sad that a bunch of rotten apples can make the majority of them look like crooks.......

Of course, in my 20 plus years in Thailand I had also bad and good experiences.... but the good prevail on the bad ones.....I just learned some lessons from both. And made some long lasting great friendships....

There's hardly a day without some body in charge saying something utterly stupid.....in Thailand.

Didn't Thaksin wanted exactly the same years ago ???? He wanted to get rid of the backpackers to....

And then the Bangkok Post ran a article stating that the Backpackers were the best tourists for the economy...

Backpackers spend money at small businesses, restaurants, guest houses, take buses, and the so called quality tourists, payed there trip in advance to big multinational hotels and Travel companies...and only a small portion of this money goes to Thailand the biggest portion is invested abroad....

And what would be the criteria to judge quality tourists..??? the amount of money they spend...???

By the way,....when the US fleet comes to Pataya, will they be counted as quality tourists....??? they spend millions...!!!

The downfall of humanity will be the inability to fully comprehend the exponential factor.....!!!!

One of the problems with Thailand is, ........SHORT TIME THINKING......!!!! They say and do anything they want, just to make a short time impression (make face), but never think of the consequences on the long term....and then they blame someone ells, to avoid losing face....!!!....

Over and over again......!!!!..

It's so sad to see a wonderful country like Thailand with so much potential, to have so much unqualified and inefficient people on important positions....

And I have met, smart, bright, intelligent Thai people in Thailand, but they were never in a position were they could make a difference.....

They should rebuild the whole education system from scratch....

One of my good friends was a (farang) philosophy teacher in a University in Chiang Mai....and when a student made a complaint to the principal of the University,...that the exams were to difficult,... the Principal asked my friend to make the exams easier so that more people would pass.....although the lessons were not even at par with the European curriculum.....

Makes you wonder if a architect or a doctor really has studied to get his job or just took shortcuts.????

I Know I went far of topic, but I'm so sick and tired of these police or politicians shooting there heads of and taking desiccations without any reflection.....I had to get this off my chest.....

This Remembers me of a good Canadian friend (Garry) that did the same some 20/25 years ago at Lamai, Koh Samui.....after the first Farrang wrote back to the bar girl, she told all her friends who told there friends and pretty soon he had a thriving business.....some of the gilrs had up to 7 farangs on the hook.......Garry was smart, as he would write some obvious language mistakes the Thai ladies would do in there speaking.....it was very interesting to hear him talk about it with the girls, about the buffalo that died, the motorbike that was broke or stolen,... ....and it was a good learning experience for me...to understand a bit of the Thai mind...as it teached me not to fall for most of the bull....the girls tell...........aah...good memory's....

Yep, Rest In Peace young Lady & Young boy..............Parents should never have to berry there children,..!.!.!

The much more worrying thing is, if these are the wrong men who are going to be prosecuted, that the upper ranks of the RTP and even the PM would be in very hot water after all the statements they've made. This would cause damage way beyond tourism.

I hope i'm wrong but i don't see this going to trial. I suspect there will be a Guilty plea possibly on ' advice ' they will be spared to death penalty which means the witnesses and evidence will never be tested in court as there seems more than enough room for a half decent defence lawyer to plead a very good case and raise substantial reasonable doubt..

I wouldn't be surprised if it ends as a "double suicide". Face saved and no more "stupid" questions.

Bird guns, they have small caliber muzzle-loader flint gun or .22 cartridge used to shoot birds or small animals....the hill tribes use them all the time.

It happened to me a few times, but my wife always checked the bill and find iregularities sometimes....It saved us a lot of money on the long run.....

Maybe the girl was shy as she would be afraid you would speak English to her and she could not reply...!!! and loose face !!!

I still can understand some people risking this to get the jackpot...!!! specially if he comes from a poor family.....or lives in a Shitty place without any future......He gambled, and lost........

How many tourist boats have sank in Thai waters ??? I remember a whole lot,.... one off Koh Samui a couple years ago, or was it last year...???....and a lot more the previous years....

And after every sinking...The Authority's will decide that every boat had to have enough life jackets..for as many occupants the boat had or was designed to have....!!!........LOTS OF TALK......

The law exist already but was never enforced........and .....the boat operators just borrowed or rented life jackets for a week or two and it was forgotten until the next sinking.....I have been here for over 20 years now and know of a sinking or two per year....Surat Thani, Koh Samui, Koh Phangan, Phuket... it's every time the same.....wait a couple of weeks and you will see the boats leave without, or with two or three life jackets for ten people......!!!!!.

Nothing ever changes.......

On a Positive note,....I remember that a Thai tourist (Probably from a high or rich family) complained that there were no life jackets on a boat to Koh Samui and he threatened to call the police,....THEY RAN TO GET SOME LIFE JACKETS FOR EVERY ONE ON THE BOAT.....but as you might imagine that was a exception....

PS: maybe they will make us buy or rent a life jacket every time we will get on a boat ??? or rent a wristband with a microchip ????....

Marrying somebody you met on-line is already looking for trouble...... now you know....!!!!.......just like marrying somebody for the size of her breasts.....or because she's a good F,,,,k,......if you plan on spending the rest of you're life with somebody you should at least have spent some months together like traveling together to different places...then you know more about her personality....and you have a chance to see the not so obviously unpleasant sides of her personality....

But that being said I know of Many other companies that hire illegal Burmese worker and the Immigration on Samui take their fees for the illegal worker as well. I still do not understand why the authorities and Military are not coming to Koh Samui to clean it up as they have done on Phuket. And why they are turning a blind eye here, And it has nothing to do with Suthup... Koh Samui Needs Help... Help...

If there are hidden gems in CM they have to stay hidden !!!.....nice places are to precious jut to give away....there are to easily spoiled...Once they are spoiled it's forever.....I like to keep my hidden gems very personal..all over Asia..

I remember, years ago,.....I saw a young kid sitting and begging with a little Puppy dog on a rope, on the pavement on Sukhumvit. As i waked further +/- 20m there was another kid also with a puppy dog,......and +/- 20m further on another one and so on,......I saw more than 10 kids and I did not got further, But I'm sure there ware more.....so I had a drink at some place, and watched the kids.......at the end of the evening when all the street vendors started to pack there things to go home,....a Brand new minivan stopped and picked up the kids that I could see and continued to pick up the other ones further up......the next morning I woke up early and went to have a coffee and saw the minivan stop and the kids got out with there Puppy dogs and went to sit on there emplacement again.....this took on for many weeks until some tourists complained and articles started to emerge in foreign newspapers....then the police rounded up the gang it made headlines in the Bangkok Post... and was forgotten, and not followed up like so many other cases......never heard what happened to the gang, and the police they payed off to continue there dirty business.........

I think they are looking for a place in the Guinness book of records,.....???? the most stupid police force in the world, ....or the highest number of stupid sentences in 3 weeks,...I could think of a few more,...!!!!

Beats the bull I heard yesterday,...I went to a Transcendental Meditation Initiation course....yesterday.........lucky for me I am highly trained in recognizing Bull.....sins I try to follow the information in this this Koh Tao murder case I had a more than fair share of it.....

If it turns out it's the neighbour's kid or some other kid that's stealing your eggs, and you have poisoned them.....you might get in to some trouble !!!!

PS: I like snakes...So I would not advice killing it,....killing is always the easy way....the way that's takes the least effort.... But it's up to you....!!

Try Chumpon,....??? and follow the coast line up to Pranburee....And then Hua Hin. My Wife and I did it many times both ways always had great times.....you can stop at so many places and have a swim.....you better use a good map or GPS to find the road at some places......enjoy.!!!
