Ignore the majority of the me, me, me mob who only care about themselves.
If they ridicule us, simply laugh at the and their mean spirited attitudes, but save a little pity for them as well.
There is a French proverb that says « le ridicule ne tue pas » "The ridicule doesn't kill" which means, don't let the fear of ridicule stop you from doing what you want, or what you think is good !!

My greatest fear was running out of money. However, unforseen circumstances lead to me running out of money a few times. In India, in Holland and in Singapore. I won't elaborate on the circumstances, but I would like to say that I got through these difficult circumstances through the kindness of strangers and I have always felt a deep thankfulness and genuine appreciation for those good souls who chose to help me both in cash and in kind.
Later in life I had developed work and business skills that generated employment and millions of dollars.
I have never forgotten those hard times and the help I was given and I've endeavoured to show kindness in it's many manifestations as life goes by. It's up to us to make this world a better place.
There must be a lot of troubled souls on this forum, judging by the cynical, uncharitable, self centred unkind comments.
Best post I have read in a long time THX for posting this reply. I have been backpacking around as well in my younger days and recognize and lived about the same sorry as you had. Had the honor to meet some of the most generous people on earth in those times....learned a lot on those voyages.

It amazes me how often the Police here get a confession, as opposed to Europe. Do they use force of any kind, as if someone was prepared to murder their spouse, I would have thought they would not crack at a police questioning.
Whatever way they used,...??....he brought them to the body !!! so, he is guilty !!

I'm an amateur pilot and don't know much about BASE jumping or skydiving, but the article says the chute failed to open. Yet from the photos, it appears that it DID open and thus deployed, leaving me to think that he simply failed to "catch" the air he hoped for in only 29 floors. Who knows, the air currents may have conspired against him this day. Too bad.
RIP Dear Sir!
In this case of low altitude base jump, the jumper hold the parachute in his hand and release/trow it in the air while jumping,....i have seen base jumpers do this on tv,

Not sure I understand the logic here.
To make up for the lost tax revenue, they're going to have to rely on increased consumption.
Has someone done the math, or is some duopoly going to benefit from this change?
Hmm,.. Maybe someone well placed in or close to the government has a big business in importing wine !?!?

That were only the ones who were checked and not paid any money.. All the rest were allowed to drive on with greetings from the RTP. It is just unbelievable that in 7 days there were only 1.100 in 70 provinces drivers with alcohol behind the wheel ( hardly 15 a day per province).. And than we don't even count the ones with drugs.
In Total 7,864 Drunk Driving Cases Reported in Seven Days

2002 was when I first went to Thailand. Scuba diving instructor on Kow Tow then 2005 Bangkok as a Teacher when I first used the original Thai visa for teaching jobs and placing adverts for required teachers. Left after the first coup I experienced Mr T. Went back to thailand in 2010 built a house and then my second coup so experienced that mess till 2019 and left over the 400k/800k baht deposit as against my principles. Over all those years I've dabbled with Thai visa and watched read and on occasion left comments. I also noticed the influx of accounts after the coup with very pro coup bad grammar accounts. I also noticed when you joined not that long ago.
Hm,...There is no Kow Tow in Thailand There is a KOH TAO !!! so far for bad grammar accounts that you don't like,....

Utter dribble. Why spout rubbish, all you are doing is showing at best lack of knowledge. What crime did she actually commit? Rice pledge which was a really good policy and several times over the years it would have paid dividends. Greedy currupt officials stole not her. She called an election and as I said before land was sold and a coup. If you think that the crime of the military taking power at the end of a gun is ok then persecuting any and all who stood in their/his way is ok please get your moral compass checked. Personally it sickens me to my stomach. The persecuted nurse who witnessed the murder of unarmed civilians under the order of general........... sick.
Hm,...I hope your stomach is feeling well with the 2500 + innocent deaths Thaksin's war on drugs had coursed !??

Missing British artist Millie Young is 'believed to be trapped inside' sunken tour vessel that is now 180ft beneath the waves after capsizing off Thailand
She is not trapped, her body is. Not difficult to say "The body of missing British artist Millie Young is 'believed to be trapped inside' sunken tour vessel that is now 180ft beneath the waves after capsizing off Thailand".
Very poorly witten headline from I suggest an under educated person.
...."The ship's cook Samniang Chaichana, 67, is also thought to have been trapped on board when the ship sank to a depth of 180ft while Ms Young was enjoying a dream adventure with friends.",.... Indeed, very poorly written. A negative and a positive sentence in the same phrase.
