  1. I would recommend the firm:   http://www.gpjustice.com/

The "GP" was originally named Grit Ploycheroen - but he then spent about five years in California, USA taking care of an ailing father.  Grit then changed his name - you can now reach him at < email address removed >

His main role in courtroom litigation.

    Cheers,

    Steve

  2. During the second week of July 2021, my two Thanachart Bank savings accounts were converted into Thanachart TTB Bank savings accounts.

The new staff of the Thanchart TTB Bank branch on Soi Asoke assisted me in applying for my monthly US Social Security "retirement" account (I am 65 years of age).

Starting in September 2021, I began receiving a monthly payment of US $2,255 - always delivered in Thai baht.  Depending on the USD/THB exchange rate, that has meant that my  monthly receipt has varied from 74,000+ baht to 75,000+ baht.   All deposits have been received routinely, with no difficulties.

  3. To get to the W District via BTS, get off at Phra Khanong Station, and take Exit 3 - the stairway down to street level (Exit 3 also has a escalator decent).  Upon reaching street level, turn 180 degrees to your right, and proceed straight ahead.  Right now, there is construction ahead, so step up onto the raised section to your left - and proceed in the direction of the Phra Khanong Post Office.  You have to cross Soi 69 just before reaching to post office.  Walk in front of the post office, and continue walking toward Soi 71.  You then walk in front of a condo development called  "The Room."  Once you are past The Room, the entrance to W District is on your left.    You walk up a rising walkway, and there is s Starbucks on your immediate left.   Walk past that, then go down some stairs to your right, and turn left.   Then proceed into the W District's outdoor area.   It has about 25 food and beverage shops lining the buildings that surround the seating area.

My recommendation:   A shop called "Holy Smokes" is the very first shop (on your right) as you enter the seating area.  Their "Beef Brisket" dinner - with a side (I select Cole Slaw - you also order chips/French fries) costs 310 baht - and is EXTRAORDINARILY good - tender, moist, and delicious.

  4. Hello Folks -

At which shops - somewhere along Sukhumvit Road - is Irish Spring soap sold?    I've bought it here before - but I don't remember where.  I am interested in the "original" version - NOT the "Aloe" version.    It's distributed by Colgate-Palmolive.

I'm waiting for some knowledgeable feedback.   Thanks!

    Cheers,

    Mai-sodni

  5. Hi Jim -

Since 2003, my company has helped incorporate 289 private companies.  None of them have ever had any "share certificates."   As far as I know, there is no "official" (government standard) share certificate.  You can get private "share certificates" created and printed - but there is no formal template, and that is only done if a private individual pays a printer to create it.

What normally "proves" share ownership is the company's Form Bor Or Jor 5 (BOJ.5) - which lists shareholders' names, each shareholder's nationality, number of shares owned, type of shares owned, date shares were issued, and numerical share numbers.   Recently, each shareholder's mobile phone number is also included.

If a shareholder who is listed on the company's ORIGINAL Form BOJ.5 is replaced by a new shareholder, or any other shareholder is later replaced by some new shareholder, the "old" shareholder can challenge the transfer - and a company director must be able to show a forma;l share transfer certificate (which is an official form), which must bear the signatures of both the outgoing and incoming shareholder, and the date of transfer.

Long ago, a new company required a minimum of seven shareholders.  About 15 years ago, that number was reduced to three.   Particularly when a minimum of seven shareholders were required, many original shareholders were just "placeholders" - who never cared if they were later replaced.

Normally, the only shareholders who care if (or when) they get replaced are those who REALLY invested cash into the company - or who agreed to accept holding shares inseated of receiving a cash payment.

'Hope that answers your  questions.  Basically, there are no "official" shareholder "certificates".   There is just a Form BOJ.5, and a copy of a share transfer certificate, if share ownership is changed.

    Best regards,

    Steve

  6. For a haircut - you can try using a place that is located under Soi Asoke (Sukhumvit Soi 21) - it is located in the "tunnel" that runs parallel to Soi Asoke,  starting from the area that marks the top of the MRT Subway system, when you descend from the BTS Skytrain system, next to Terminal 21 shopping mall.  The barber shop is located about halfway down the tunnel, on the left side  - if you are coming from the space TWO LEVELS down from the BTS, by escalator.  It costs 150 baht - and they work fairly "quickly."

For a roof top  venue, try Brewski - which is located at the top of the Radisson Hotel at the corner of Sukhumvit Road, and Sukhumvit Soi 27.  See more at https://www.facebook.com/brewskirooftop   and at https://bangkokbeerguru.com/city/bangkok/listing/brewski/

    - but - it's not cheap!

    Good luck!

  7. I have a Samsung J6+ Android phone, 4/64 GB - dual SIM capability, with one AIS SIM Card, and one True Move SIM Card.   I live near Onnut BTS Station.

All at once, both SIM cards became unable to send or receive regular phone calls.  Both can still send and receive data.

I can still send and receive calls using LINE, or What'sApp - so there is nothing wrong with phone's audio system.

I paid the bills for both SIM card services within the past five days.

I suspect that my phone has been hacked - to disable my ability to make or receive regular phone calls.

Where can I go to get a knowledgeable Android mobile phone technician to inspect the phone, locate the function that is disabling the mobile phone capability for both SIM Cards, and restore the phone to normal operation?   My first thought is to go to the top floor of Terminal 21, and ask the staff in the shops where to go for help.  That is what I will do today.  I will bring sufficient cash to purchaes a new phone, if that turns out to be the only way to solve my connectivity problem.

Has anyone else recently suffered a similar problem, and then pursued - and obtained - a successful "unhacking" outcome?

    Thanks,

    Cheers !

  8. For my PR application, I had to obtain a Criminal Clearance Certificate from my home country, and in order to get that from my home country, I had to submit an ink-based fingerprint form, from a "qualified" finger print specialist.  I ended up going to the Phrakhanong Police Station, and they gave me what I needed within one hour.  They weren't even going to charge me - but I gave to guy who took my prints 300 baht, on my own initiative.

  9. Well, Fresh Barber & Salon will be going out of business at the end of June.  It will give its last hair-care services on Sunday, 28 June, and will spend Monday and Tuesday (29 and 30 June) cleaning out equipment and supplies.   The owner, Khun Karlob Saisot, will be "retiring" and leaving Bangkok for good.

Now, after 18 years of using the same barber - actually two different women, in three different locations - but the "same" team - I will have to find a new barber, starting next month.

  10. Hi Gents (and maybe, Ladies) -

Have Covid-19 lock-down policies caused you to become a "shaggy soul" in need of a  haircut?   Well, I have a recommendation, for a barbershop on Sukhumvit Soi 22.

    First, the story:

From getting here in 2000, until about 2005, I always used to use the same lady barber, in the same barber shop, on Sukhumvit Soi 3/1.  During that period, that area was just starting to become "Little Arabia."  Suddenly, my barber disappeared - although the shop remained open.  I had really gotten accustomed to getting the same cut, from the same lady barber.  So - seeing my frustration - one of the barbers that was still there told me that my favorite barber had relocated to Sukhumvit Soi 22 - to a barbershop near the backside of the girly bar complex on Soi 22.

So - I went down to Soi 22 - snooping around the edges of what turned out to be called Queens Park Plaza.  I finally found that barber shop - which was also a lady's hair salon - and it had my same barber working there.  So - anyway - I starting going there, and I remained a loyal customer for another six or seven years.   Around 2012, my barber - who I had now used for almost ten years  - told me that she was getting out of that business, to work for her older sister at a ladies garment shop down in Pratunam.  But - she introduced me to another barber at the Queen's Park barber shop, and she "taught" the other lady how I liked to have may hair look.   It went well, and I liked how the new lady kept everything the same.

But - after only about two months - my "new" barber told me that the shop had lost its lease, and would be closing - but that she was going to open a new shop, not too far away - right across the street (Soi 22) from Queen's Park Plaza. And - that is what she did.  So - I kept going there.

And that is the shop that I now want to recommend - because they were shut down for about ten weeks by Covid-19, and now that they have reopened - Queen's Park Plaza plaza has been completely closed down - and their business is REALLY hurting, to the point that she can barely pay rent.   So - unless business picks up - she will have to close the shop.     She is from somewhere near Chanthaburi (down southeast of Rayong), and she said that she would just give up, and leave Bangkok.

I don't want that to happen.  She is a GREAT barber - and her staff are also good.    The shop takes care of both men and women, so you can bring your wife, girlfriend, sister, or daughter along.

The "Fresh Barber - Salon" is easy to find on Sukhumvit Soi 22.  Google Maps says that the distance from Sukhumvit Road to Fresh Barber - Salon is about 215 meters.  With your back to Sukhumvit Road, "Fresh" is on your left.  The first attached photo is taken from the front entrance to the barbershop, looking at what used to be Queens Park Plaza - that is a "for sale" sign for the property.  The second photo is taken FROM that "for sale" sign, showing the "Fresh Barber - Salon" right on the corner with a small alley that is the first road that intersects with Soi 22, if you travel south from Sukhumvit.    My favorite barber's name is "Tum" (pronounced "toom") - her LINE ID is  '  Tum2  '.

If you need a haircut, please help her out, and give her some work!

(Disclaimer:  I have no financial interest in this barber shop)

    Thanks!

  11. Well, if furloughed security guard positions are any sort of benchmark, then https://coconuts.co/bangkok/news/struggling-mother-draws-portrait-of-pm-before-committing-suicide/ might serve as a good measure of the price of treating working people as "expendable" individuals.  So - bars that give people some sort of self-worth (however low that standard may be) need to be preserved - hopefully with improvements.

    With a heavy heart,
