I'm trying to think what this "Community" could offer that I can't possibly already find in Chiang Mai and what about Chiang Mai that drives me crazy it could possibly eliminate.  Will it be surrounded by a large plastic dome and climate controlled so we don't have to put up with the choking urban air, especially during "burning season"?  Will be be able to walk for miles and miles on wide open footpaths to visit our favorite malls, shops and restaurants?  Will there be no traffic?  Will it have an Immigration office where retirees can obtain their annual retirement extension within 10 minutes of arriving without having to pay a bribe to the "visa agent" conveniently located right next door to Immigration office to jump the queue.

    Nope, didn't think so.

Unless the OP can fix these things that I don't like about CM, I might as well stay put.

    1. In thailand can find place where not have "burning season"

    2. In vilage 1000 house you can work miles and miles..

    3. In village with not easy acces  willbe not traffic.

    4. I do not know what  for favorite shops and restaraunt, but if westerns.. In close community village ita can maked..

    PS

    this theory.

On practic need some courageous guys who start all this is invest..to when they build all this, like you skeptics might come on all ready and accept to live in this place or not

Why only people from the "UK" ???

I understand there is a large part of current expats from this area, but the sort of common habits, food, education, etc we receive, it's far more wider than a single country.

    Its only say for Transam..

An for me intresting How be edication for expat not  from English lang country?

And how it be "home" for german or franch guys?

But yes for multiple expat its more easy start.. but one another thinks.. what its be differents live as now just go to Foreigners restaraunts, shops etc in public place where go Thai too..

you need thinks about economic feasibility..

How  many people are willing to pay for "home" out homecountry.

And western people also have different preference and opinione on life. its NOT same. Therefore, there is Italian and Dutch ireland etc communities in other countries.

Work Permits are not necessary for living in Thailand, people interested into living inside this sort of environment, will however be expected to be "legal", as reporting the people living into any household it's a legal requirement.

There will be no age restrictions, everyone it's welcome.

The initial setup for a lodge, will be very basic in order to keep it cheap, but if someone it's willing to add anything to better suit its needs/possibilities, go for it, but don't expect others to pay for them if you decide to leave, which i think it's reasonable, the "money back" guarantee should cover only what all the people have agreed together, any extras should be the responsibility of whom wanted them.

As ideally i would like to see somewhere where foreigners can easily find products they are used to, obviously every household will have to include at least 1 foreigner (or should we make 4 foreigners for each local, to make it sound more familiar??? Ha ha, just kidding), but not ALL foreigners, definitely not, as we can see how a passport it's not a guarantee of "quality", people will need to go through an initial period where we will become familiar with each other, no rush, this little particular will surely be a turn off for many, but we have to understand that it's a necessary measure to make sure we don't end up with some really messed up individual, as already happens into commercial ventures, we don't do it for profit, but to make people's life better, and i don't think there will be a shortage of people on the waiting list, given all the "perks" involved.

I do not say work permit its necessary.

Just explain.. In Russian villige have different people. have few month stay have living in Thailand..

But its place there have food, church, restaraunt etc  Russian. so it as "home" for russians  out of Russia..

If you want make home for some  foreigners.. I do not thinks its important it residents or not.

Must just have people who accept to pay for this is kind type life.

And ofcouse need for start investition..

  5. Op dono what you want

But it not be less the cost of living.

If you want start do it , need investment.

     Example have in Thailand

    Russian Village near Pattaya.

    700 house.

inside there is almost everything. church, restaurants, kindergarten, many residents do not speak Thai or English. they do not have to. come enjoy a comfortable winter warm weather and the sea for several months. Some live for 4-7 months.

But IMHO not all foreigner need it. Some come for cheap p..sy and not care about they quality life.

First  it p...sy, after alcohol. And after all another..

Nope. If I wanted to live surrounded by westerners, I wouldn't have moved to Asia.

Weak people adapt. Strong change the world for themselves. If they were all like you people would still be eating bananas on trees.

In Asia as example HK  can westerns society live and    western standarts.

od in HK in cheaper than in Thailand really shows your ignorance. At the bottom of the scale, a bowl of wantan noodles in Hk at a "char chan thang" (local coffeeshop) is around HK$28 (Thb 125). A glass of ice milk tea will cost HK$12. And these are not even restaurants, just cheap charlie places. A dim sum lunch in a normal HK restaurant will cost at least HK$100 per head - and not even in Central or TST but out by Lai Chi Kok where my office is located.

Taxis in Hk? Flag fall $35.Taxi from TST to HKIA - about $250. Airport express to TST - $90 (Thb 400). More expensive to Central.

Accommodation? DB Greenburg Court (Phase 5) - $21,000 (Thb 94,000). No facilities such as swimming pool, security etc etc. And this is in DB which would be the equivalent of being out in Nonthaburi.

But yes, keep spilling out more of your nonsense and ignorance. I'm loving it!!!

Dim sam dish from 8 HK$ t0 20 normaly twwo people order 7-9 dish.. so its 120-200 for TWO chines people..

In Thailand its simular price 30-70 per dish. but i cant say it delicious as in HK..

About taxi i say YES!!! in Bangkok cheapest..

DB had clean fresh air. and quality air even can see online in mobile app.

    facillities

DB Greenburg Court (Phase 5):D You sure be in DB? In DB nobody say like this is .. folk say "Greenvale village"

Its look as you get information from internet..:P

Hillgrove Village 400 sqf can get from 13 k HK$ court , swimming pool, beach, farry near 200-500m ..

facilities?? hah why need facilities  if on the road from the home, you can start a puddle of oil from a street vendor, and from the gateway stinks ..breathing with the exhaust gases of cars

As I said, you are either being cheated (one can easily understand why from your posts) or just confused (equally understandable from your posts).

Thb 3.500 for a car wash and wax? Please tell, where? I'll make sure I don't go there. Instead, I take my car to either the car wash on soi 23 or in Huay Kwang opposite the Emerald hotel. Normal wash Thb 150. Full works, including vacuum, wax etc - no more than Thb 400. You do understand that the price is based on the size of the vehicle and not the make, don't you?

Show me full clean car whit engine and salon for 400 B.

i can bet on this is they do  not do it.

Can you bet? every where its simular price in Thailand near 4000 B for full clean car less what i see its be 3500..

Sorry to say this ardokano but you are rapidly losing whatever credibility you had to start with (if you have not lost it all already). You claim that eating in a restaurant in Hkg is cheaper than in Thailand? And that a car wash in Hkg or London is cheaper than in Thailand?

All I can say is that you are either totally ignorant of prices in Hkg / London or have just been cheated each time you are in Thailand.

    Ah ah.

Sorry but can you show me cheapest wash car? In HK full clean car with waxing start from 600 HK$

In London  few year ago can from 75..

     In thailand simular 3500B

So who cheating me? Show me where i can cheaper price washed car? I be happy. Why hide?

     About food.

Thai food in HK in jormal restaraunt not cheaper. It simular or may be 20% up..

But normal  grilled ribs or beefsteak its at many place in HK be cheaper than in Thailand.

    Chines food cheapest..

Even japan food can find cheapest..

If cooking at home it be cheapest or simular price.

Traport HK and Thailand can compare ONLY in Bangkok taxi. Yes its cheapest!!! But in HK not must use Taxi for comfort . Have many another transport and Every where!!!

     About apartment.

Yes can say hk litle be  more expensive.

But in bangkok dificult find well aria as in HK.and as i see it need 120k or even more .. yes it be bigest abd even more comfort appartment when in HK. But for 60 to 100k its less good aria.

Again for me good aria as example DB..

And yes in thailand can find for 5 k B condo and in HK cant find even place for dog for this is money.  But we talk about comfor quality life!!!

  17. 2 minutes ago, Gweiloman said:

What on earth are you talking about?

Remind us again, what is your thread about?

    About price in Thailand.

     So compare simular.

Street food or  foodcort cant compare with restaraunt.

In restaraunt you pay for service and place.

    Pc

About labor cost i say yes in Thai its cheaper.

But why wash car same price or even more than in HK or London?

Try buying satay in London's China town- ONE QUID a stick! I can get a bag full here for 20 baht. It's more expensive than LOS in Malaysia even.

    Try buy c63 in Thailand.

Deffernce with london more what 150000 paunds.. how many dish chines you can both on this is money?

    Ps

Normal restaraunt in Chiang mai and normal restaraunt in HK with Thai food its near simular pruce. Or HK maybe up 20% some.

But in HK not use thai meat.

And some seafood better in HK.
