  1. It seems everyone in this country is carrying some sort of weapon, mostly knives. I'm not one to walk away from a fight but Expat Rule No:1 Never engage the local. Obviously this case is different but even the girls are packing here. It seems to be getting worse here. Sad really because Social Media has really made this, and every other Country accountable and world can really see the 'Land of Smiles' is just a Marketing terms and nothing else, shame really.

  2. It never ceases to amaze me. With all the many 'other' issues this Country has, road safety etc and this is at the top of their agenda to catch a few overstayers/  Rubbish!!! This is nothing more than some small groups illusion that they can 'control'.  What about Sat phones, mobile International roaming, internet phones?  Seriously, who thinks this s..t up?

Well, first off, the Thai legal system should learn the definition of the word "defame" which is damage the good reputation of (someone); slander or libel.

The girl is a prostitute.  Nobody damaged her good name.  She got caught being a prostitute.

This is why this country is so backwards.  Only in Thailand can you get video of someone doing something wrong or illegal and have them sue you for defamation.

How many politicians, police, etc pull this stunt whenever they got caught red handed and called out for their actions.  It is less of a crime to be a corrupt politician than it is to cause a corrupt politician to lose face.  Oh, the horror.

Only in Thailand...are you kidding mate. This sort of legal action happens daily in the US and elsewhere.  She obviously wasn't a Prostitute...where did she put the money???

  4. Having lived in China for many years and now seeing so many Chinese (and other nationalities) waste food I agree there should be a charge for leftover food. Some International Hotel now have signs at their buffets saying you will be 'charged for food left on your plate'.  The poverty mentality of some 'buffett goer' starving themselves all day so they can gorge themselves to almost sickness is hilarious ;-) (I've done that myself many years ago) I was at a buffet breakfast once when I overheard the table next to me ask for a dodgy bag. They actually wanted to take a selection of the food home with them. I have to admit, I am addicted to this forum/news service there is no place online that delivers so many laughs and stories of how stupid humanity is. I love it.  Sorry to hear about the Restaurant owner who was bullied. A sign in the restaurant will help next time...possibly.

Hats off to the Thai lifeguards.

They risk their lives for very little pay.

I find your comment interesting in so much as if the Lifeguards were doing their JOB it may not have happened... 'a group of people carried him out of the water'. Just saying...

  6. All the moody older expats commenting on his youtube videos are pretty entertaining. They just can't bear to see a young guy having fun in Thailand. Obviously the usual 'does he have a work permit to live here' reared it's ugly head too.

Yeah that’s me, I’m one of those old guys. Phew!!! all those years ago when I was doing cool stuff like flying on my bike on the wrong side of the road almost causing fatal accidents, filming it to promote myself as a vegan Cyclist…I miss that. So now no one else can ever have that sort of FUN in Thailand. Tow the line people or you’ll wear the wrath of my poisonous keyboard. Poor me…”my window has closed and I’m doing the best I can” - Slipknot
  7. As an Australian living and running a Bicycle Tour business here in Thailand and riding and racing in this region for over a decade I think they should have thrown him out of the Country. What is it about people from so called 'developed' nations when they arrive here they regress. Human regression is rife here and I can tell you this Cyclists wouldn't not have been riding the day after if he had been caught in Australia doing stupid, disrespectful stuff like this.

I know, I'm going to get all the Police haters and Expats here who complain all the time that my comments are harsh. However, as an Expat for over a decade you do NOT disrespect the locals let alone post videos of your stupidity on YouTube.

For anyone who doesn't know what Strava is, it's an app used to track your riding, running etc performance. And for him to say 'Strava Got Me Arrested in Thailand' is just dumb. The guy is a moron and stunts like this makes it hard for everyone else. Phew!! this is the next generation of Australian...

  8. Competition in anything here seems never welcomed, especially if there’s a foreigner involved. I’m pretty sure Mr. Kittichai’s business comes from mostly foreigners. The mellow sport of surfing has hit the bottom here in Thailand. I’m glad I have my own surfboard. I’ll remember not to drop in on Mr. Kittichai’s wave next time I’m surfing there. Yikes!!! another extreme Thai sport.
