Maybe TV could introduce a " like and dislike " facility so posters can see how many people dislike what their opinions are - as well as how many do like what they have to say. Other Forums have both " thumbs up and thumbs down " facilities and I think this would have proved quite interesting on this particular thread. Just because you don't give some Posts a " like, " it doesn't necessarily mean that you do not dislike the alternative side of the discussion. This facility would have proved quite useful on this thread and would have been quite a powerful tool in determining how a much wider audience actually feels about this particular subject !
A wider audience? You really think a bunch of Korsakoff syndrome expats hanging out in Thai bars or else so helplessly bored they live online for hours a day is a wider audience? Leave it alone. Happiness is a sandpit.

I have lived here for seven years and not once in that time have I been close to having any sort of physical altercation with a Thai.
How about just using some common sense and your two legs to run away if the shit hits the fan?
Geez do I really have to say that when its SO obvious?
You are writing on a TV forum. Did you really expect something different??

Get mates to bring good quality stuff when they visit. Even when you find hand tools you want in Thailand, they are often low Chinese quality. Electrical stuff is the same everywhere.

Tommy Lee Jones is innocent.

Shame on the people talking about killing animals.
Yes. Just remove their larynxes. And maybe their teeth if they wander around at night as well as bark. While you've got them under anaesthetic you could also sterilise them. But just don't kill them, even if they drive you mad / bite the local kids and give you rabies.

Pity that the Scots didn't get independence. I think at least one part of the independence vote came from the anger resulting from such events as Blair's tamely following the baby Bush to get those WMDs and rid the poor Iraqis of the evil Saddam - despite massive protests in Scotland. Now Scotland is stuck not only with the pound, but with the absurd foreign policies of Westminster.

Don't let them back. A few well placed high explosives from on high around the Iraq / Syria border. No fighters to come back.

A lot of Thai motorcycle riders seem to worry about their left elbows.
Even when they don't have a helmet on their heads, they usually have one on their left elbow.

You can understand the vendors, even if not sympathise with them. They are not used to laws being policed, so are indeed shocked at the sudden changes under the new regime.
That said, I love Al Jazeera. Best news source on the planet. You'll never get CNN or Fox or the BBC to cover such small human interest stories. Al Jazeera does more on non-Euro news than anyone. In the last few days I have seen reports from Africa, the Carribean, South America, Eastern Europe and China. And they are far more balanced about news than any of the propaganda channels foisted on us in the "free" world.

I am above 72 and have medical insurance worldwide except US and that includes Thailand. In Patient and Out Patient. Costs: $ US 5,788 per year. No out of pocket expenses. Limit Maximum per year $2.6 M Maybe worth considering.
A hefty premium that one. If it buys peace of mind maybe worth it. Does it include medical evacuation back to US?

Make him eat Dunkin Donuts for 50 years instead. A fate worse than death.

The lead story says:
"But survey by road safety monitoring agencies, 55% of people are unaware of the existence of such law, and penalty for violation.
13% understood that riding on pillion riders with no helmets is not guilty."
I'm worried for the 13% who claim they understood that "riding on pillion riders with no helmets is not guilty."

I am looking forward to getting my passport stamped at the gate in Hadrian's Wall.

Let the Middle East sort out its own problems. We have shale oil and Canada oil and North Sea oil and Asian oil and in a few more years a load of wind power and wave power and solar power + electric cars. We don't need the middle east. So stay at home. Drink more beer. We can go to the middle east for holidays once its empty.

Yesterday the taxi queue was out past the escalators.
I have to give credit to the security guy on the scooter. He was telling everyone they could also catch a taxi upstairs at the departure level.
The whistle blowers upstairs had no problems with people catching taxis that had just dropped off passengers
This is what makes Thailand such a wonderful place. Adapting to the circumstances - mostly. Not so many of the Napoleon-complex petty officialdom types one finds elsewhere in the world.

Protesters or not - with Bangkok traffic 3 hours is needed to play it safe.
Does Britain have a jihadi problem?

Well, there can be no question marks over this lad's credibility, can there?
