  1. Thanks all. So hopefully it is only on brand new unused bags that get taxed. Thought it was strange that they were now taxing expensive items on arrival. Not really a good idea to be taxing tourists and returning Thais for wearing expensive clothes and accessories! Cheers James
  2. Hi Legends, We lived in Thailand for 5 years but moved back to Australia in 2015. Used to visit LOS every year or so until COVID. Planning on a big family holiday at Christmas as it’s been 4.5 years since we’ve been back. The missus is saying there is a new arrival tax on handbags?????? She (like all Thais I know loves Louis Vuitton etc) and I don’t want to get stung on arrival this time! Well we’re off to a good start then!!! Any real advice or information is appreciated. Choke dee James
  3. Vote this fella in !!! I don’t understand the attitude in Thailand to craft beer. In other countries the big breweries allow small breweries to prosper, then just buy them out. Simple! Win win for big breweries, craft beer breweries and craft beer drinkers. The govt is still going to make the money in taxing the beer. Might attract more tourists as well, who are interested in enjoying the taste of handcrafted locally sourced ales etc, and supporting local industry. There is Thai craft beer but is brewed in Australia and Korea !!?? If I could brew my own Beer legally or go to a locally owned craft brewery in Thailand I would be moving back there for sure. Love Thailand, love the food, hate the beer ( and wine) Soke dee der
