  1. I spent 4 weeks of constant meditation in Doe suthep about 10 years ago.
It was mind blowing! I cannot describe how amazing i felt afterwards and how clearly i could see life for what it really was.
What i suggest is - Absolutely do it.
Even if its not for the rest of your life, Just a few months will give you such an amazing insight and you dont have to put all your eggs in one basket.
But if you do commit - take it seriously and do the work and meditation, preferably on a constant level all day and every day.
The Thai monks are pretty lame and only study about 1 hour a day, dont get caught up with the wrong crowd.
Take it serious and you will appreciate your efforts.

  2. Chinese pushing in front of Thais,i thought Thais

were champions at that,I remember bank queues

before they started to use ropes and Q numbers,

it was like a rugby scrum with lots more players.

    Regards worgeordie

you have obviously never been to china and are just looking to do some thai bashing.

queue behaviour in thailand, even at its very worst, has always been light years better than what you see every single day in china.

if you dont know. dont post.

He never made any comment about the Chinese other than quoting the OP. He was expressing surprise based on his experience of Thai queuing.

If you can't read maybe you shouldn't post.

I would say that in general I've not seen any great problem with Thai queuing.

    what have you been smoking?

try getting a bus in bangkok - The good old chinese pushing still exists here in thailand, doesnt matter how old you are its everyone for themselves when a bus pulls up.

  3. It makes me quite sad sometimes

over Xmas i by chance came upon a huge swimming complex in Isaan that some Norweigan guy invested all his money in for his Thai wife and her entire family. The poor guy didnt look in good shape.
But what struck me most was how the, extended family were treating him.
They were strutting around as if it was theirs and not his anymore, they were showing off and burning what little money he had left.
I can understand he wanted to build something for the children in that area to enjoy and also gain his position of respect in his Thai family.
The only thing he achieved was making children happy - His Thai family were just hoping he would die quickly so they can find a new sponsor.

  4. I was supposed to spend Xmas in Phuket - But i twisted my ankle the night before and couldn't walk so called it off. One accident i'm grateful for!
I will never forget the missing persons photos of children in Khaosarn road - there were thousands...
And spending new years eve in Bangkok with those survivors limping around with stories that were so sad,
I remember one guy saying he brought his GF on holiday to Thailand, but he doesnt think he will see her again, he didnt even know.
