  1. Hi,

My Thai sister in law, who lives in Thailand has been married to a Norwegian guy for 4 years. He walked out on her about a year ago, which was a blessing as she was constantly abused and humiliated. They have a 4 year old daughter, who lives with the mother. They have a house in East Pattaya and a condo in Jomtien both in his company name.

The Norwegian husband works for the oil industry and earns approx 6 million bhat a year. He wants a divorce and states that according to the law in Norway he just needs to pay her 1780 Kroner a month (9500 Bhat) and he will keep the house, condo, car, etc.

She is currently living back in the village with the baby because he wont let her stay in the house.

Back in the UK everything is spit 50:50 and I'm sure if they were living in Norway it would be similar. So not quite sure what she is legally entitled to with her being a Thai National married to a Norwegian living in Thailand. Any advice would be very welcome as I don't wont to see her get bullied into a settlement without knowing what she is entitled to.

  3. This will not be a big enough image as you'll need a multiple shot panorama ... but thought you might like to see this as it sums up the many joys of Thai street eating .....

I have other shots of street stalls and can send the full sized images if they are any use?

I like it. It catches the atmosphere but there is also a touch of spice and humour there at the same time. Its also close up so you can see the anticipation on their faces. More like this but on a panaramic scale please.

  4. Hi Ive been a member with Thai Visa for a few years now, but this is the first time Ive posted on the Photography section. Im opening a Thai cafe in the UK and as part of the decor I would like to have a large black and white panoramic print (4m long 1.1m wide)showing Thai's eating street food. It's an image that you see all over Thailand and Im trying to portray this atmosphere in the cafe.

If anyone could help me out I would be very grateful.

    Regards GE.

  5. Tomatoes triggered my kidney stones. Cranberry juice works as a treament for me. THe first are the worst.

2 number 50mg Tramadol (synthetic opium) will relieve the pain for 8 hours. Take another 2 if the pain continues. You can buy them in most chemists down Soi Buakhao.

Wouldnt bother going to any of the hospitals in Pattaya. They will fleece you for everything and have you in for about 4 days for observations.

  6. Hi Im in Pattaya for a couple of weeks and Im after a jar of massage balm. I had a massage on the beach last year and the lady used massage balm (not to be confused with Oil Massage). Been back to the beach on Jomtien a few times but none of the ladies seem to have this balm or know where to get it in Pattaya.

If anyone could let me know, I would be very appreciative.

  7. This happened to me and It was because my Internet GPRS connection was active and was constantly checking for e mails etc. Disable your GPRS and any other Internet connection that may be live.

    Cheers, Rick

Yes my GPRS is active. Ive turned it off. THanks for the advice Rick!

  8. Ive been in Pattaya on holiday for about a week. When I first got here I went to Tukom to get my Iphone unlocked and bought a 12call sim card and topped up with 300 bhat credit. I only made a couple of short calls but the next day all my credit was gone. I bought another 300 bhat of credit and that also went in one day with only making very few calls. I thought there was something wrong with the sim card so I bought a Dtac sim card and put 100 bhat credit on it. Again only made a few short calls during the day and the next day there was no credit left.

Im begining to think that my phone has got some sort of virus that robs all my credit from me. Has any had any simiilar experiences?

  10. My Northpoint condo will be ready to move into in April.

I bought off plan 3 years ago and put down a 40% deposit.

I need to take out a mortgage for Bhat7.1million. What Im after is some mortgage advice, ie what type of rates should I expect to get? Does any one know of any good deals etc. Can anyone recommend a good mortgage broker!

    Cheers GE.

BTW, I live and work in the UK.

  11. A point to consider when you choose your anti flotation measures on your underground water tank.......concrete weighs twice as much above the groundwater table as below.

To calculate the upthrust from the groundwater on your tank, just calculate the volume of the tank and multiply it by the unit weight of water. For example if the volume of the tank is 3 cubic metres then the upthrust will be approximately 30kN. Therefore weight of concrete needs to be about 33kN (above the groundwater table) to resist flotation. 33kN is about 1.4 cubic metres of contrete ( weight of conc 24kN/m3). As discussed before, if the concrete weight is below ground water table use a submerged weight of 14 kN/m3).

  12. **Sigh** as it was not mentioned in the initial post, nor has it been addressed after being asked twice, I'll go out on a limb and say that this back yard breeder has neither papers nor champion lines to show.  I hope I'm wrong.

JR's are not recognised as pedigree dogs so Id be surprised if you got any papers with them!

  13. Would any one like to bet me a large some of money that Northpoint wont be finished in 2010.

I'd bet you a large sum, but gambling is illegal in the LOS.

    :)

    That's a NO then....wise choice Syd :D

  14. AYOR
