The other day you said you had a 1 year "visa" from Jomtien.  You actually have an extension of stay based on marriage don't you?  Why don't you simply do another extension when that ends, and put 400K in the bank now, or at least 2 months before you need the new extension.

I am starting a new job in Bangkok at the start of this month which has more than the 40k a month required for marriage visa. I am hoping that this will be enough for an extension but I am worried because the job is in Bangkok and my visa is from Jomtien there might be problems getting a work permit causing me to lose my job. I don't really have 400k at the moment and it will require some effort to get it. If I did have 400k i would put it in my bank right away.

You can't and don't need to change the visa category.

Just apply for an extension based on working when your current permission of stay is expiring.

You could also continue getting extensions based on marriage.

Thanks, so the Department of Employment in Bangkok will still give me a work permit even though I have a Non O marriage visa from Jomtien?

  3. Hi, I am married and have a non O for 1 year that I got at Jomtien immigration because I live with my wife in Pattaya. It ends in October. I am starting a job in Bangkok and will live there during the week. How would i change from non 0 to non B? Is it a complicated process because I got my Non O in Jomtien but now want a non B at a school in Bangkok? Can i get another Non 0 1 year in Jomtien and have the work permit from Bangkok?

    Thanks for any help.
