@crickets are you ineligible for a 60-day extension before the amnesty ends? If not, perhaps getting the extension will save you potential headaches (overstay, fines etc). Then you will "for sure" meet the 60-day requirement for your funds to be in the bank. The other consideration is that you must have at least 15 days remaning on your active visa (stamps that expired during amnesty are not considered active, according to the lady we spoke with at immigration). In other words, you might not meet the visa requirements for a conversion if you do not get an extension prior to the end of amnesty. Food for thought.
Yes i went today and got the 60 day extension, will get the one year next month.

If it can make the beaches as nice as they ones in Rayong then it will be awesome but i suspect a storm will ruin it very quickly.

Hopefully they will extend the amnesty as i put the money in just over a month ago and have to wait 60 days which will be 6 days after the amnesty.

I cant fly to Australia on this date so they most likely will have to extend it.

You would need to leave the country on or before the July 31st. If the borders are still closed or the entry requirements are very restrictive then they may extend the ministerial order again.
If you could qualify for an extension of some kind you could apply for one prior to the 31st.
If married to a Thai and you have not applied for one yet you could get a 60 day extension to visit your wife.
Hi....Non O multi visa ended May 12th. Do you think that I could apply for a 1 year extension and put the funds in this week instead of the 3 month seasoning? Im in Pattaya.

Hi,... I am just wondering if anyone knows about what might happen after the amnesty. Do you think that after July 31st everyone will need to rush out to get their visa or will there be some leeway? Im sure there are thousands of married men who rely on the Non O savvanahket visa and it would be chaos if they all tried to get it at the same time.
Cheers.

It depends on the relationship with the owner and the employment department. Anything is possible.

sad to see so many people lose their job

These tourists are not interested in animal shows anymore and are probably against them now so they will have to start doing different types of things.

as above you could get a 60 day visit Thai wife extension
The extension i last got is already past the expiry date of the visa. Will they still extend it because of the special circumstances?

My non O multi runs out May 15th and I am worried I can not get to and from Savannahket. I dont have time to put the 400k and season it in the bank. Are they giving extensions for people whose visa is going to run out soon and cant renew their visa?

If the baht drops because of this then its a good thing.

Thais would not be obedient if they cancelled it anyway

What a coincidence this happens when there is a massive drop in tourism.

Only bottom of the barrel work at public schools now. Pay is to little and visa is still a commando course.

A good one will pay upfront for you. A bad one will give it back to you when you finish your contract. A terrible one wont pay it back at all.

I think its called "pandering."

Just be aware of one issue. Immigration does not particularly like people using visas issued by consular staff (a different branch of the Thai bureaucracy) to stay long periods in Thailand. They want you to use extensions that they police. Part of that is the "not invented here" syndrome, and part is losing the opportunities for corruption.
Anyway, after cracking down on people using tourist visas for long stays, Immigration at several crossing points has recently begun preventing people making border runs with multiple entry Non O visas to extend their stay in Thailand. If the trend continues, you will be fine getting an initial visa, but may find it difficult to avoid in country extensions from Immigration in the future (unless willing to pay bribes at border crossings).
I have been doing it for 5 years. Never had a single issue or even heard about one. It has always been quick. Every time I go to immigration and see people trying to get a one year marriage visa extension there is always a problem with paper work and they are asked to come back with something else even though they have half a book of documents stapled together.

So if I understand you right, a quick trip to Savanakhet, I can get a 90-day non-O. I just looked at their website and it looks a lot simpler than getting non-O at CW. And during that 90 days, can I apply for the 1-year marriage extension at CW just as if I had gotten the non-O in Thailand? I don't want to get tangled up in the insurance problems that entangle those on O-A visas.
Just get a onee year multi non o from savvanahket and get extensions for 15 months. It will be a big hassle getting one year ext and having differnent addresses.
