I'm on ongoing extensions so no I have never done border run you outline.

    You won't have an issue.

Your OP is correct in that if you exit without reentry permit your current permission of stay is done and dusted.

Turn around and reenter visa exempt.

Bit hard to guess your plan (which is your business)

Assume that you are aware of 60 day extension to visit wife.

What's the plan after visa exempt entry?

I know it is an alternative way I will use. A combination of different circumstances.

60 days extension - just to be clear.
I'm aware that I can extend visa Exempt, tourist visa and Non O visa with 60 days at each entry.

Is it possible to extend a 1 year extension with further 60 days at local immigration office?

Next will be to get a new Non O visa or convert visa exempt to Non O visa and the to 1 year extension.

  2. Is the following border run at Ban Laem border at Cambodia possible and get 30 days Visa Exempt entry stamp on return?

    - Have 1 year extension Non O, Marriage, expires.

    - Travel to Ban Laem the last days of extension on stay. Extension will then be cancelled due to no valid re-entry permit now.

    - Return to Thailand the same day on Visa Exempt and get 30 days.

    - Travel on my own. No agent company.

    - Is onward ticket out of Thailand required?

    Is that possible?
Any issues to be aware of?

My nationality is among the visa free entry schemes.

    Thanks in advance.

  3. Looking for getting Non O multiple entry visa with base in marriage.

    In Savannakhet.

Looking for latest information on financial requirements for application?
(I have read different requirements and not been clear for me)

    1. How much need to be in the bank account?
    2. How long time do the funds need to be in the account before application? 1 day, 1 week, 2 months?

        - Not the actually time people had the finances in the account, but the requirements.
    3. Need a writen statement and cover letter from the thai bank, with stamp?

    5. Is update of the book for bank 1 day before accepted?

    7. Is there any differences in requirements for single and multiple entry visas? Both are available? The consulate only mention single entry with no financial requirements.

    Thanks in advance.

  4. The under consideration period is until the old extension expires. The same date as the re-entry was valid for.

Mean I have applied more than 1 month before extension expires and consideration period therefore until original expire date.

I just called the agent company uses and she reconfirmed that Officers confirmed to her that it was valid.

But i not sure with comments here.

  5. I have applied for extension of stay.

    Non O basis, marriage.

My original re-entry permit from last extension is valid until some time in April, the day that extension from last year expire.

Can I still use that re-entry permit if I leave Thailand and return before the original re-entry permit expires?

Immigration officers told me that the original one is it still valid and I did not need a new one within the period the old re-entry is valid.

    Actually plan leaving tonight.

    Thanks in advance.

Went to Phu Nam Ron a few months ago. Have Non O, multiple entry, (Marriage), and went for 90 days stamp.

Told when checking out, that I could not come there again. Next time I should leave from an airport.

    Anyone else got this message?

Else it was easy and fast. I was the only customer so did not wait. A pickup took me across the border and back. 900 or 960 baht.
Tried Ban Laem earlier in 2017, they charged 1,900 baht for cambodian visa.

    Update:

I took the chance and went there again.

No problem, nothing asked at all.

In between had a 2 month extension from immigration office.

  7. Thanks for you prompt and clear answer. Sounds promissing for possibilities.

OK, it is because I'm on 2 mth extension I only got a few weeks validity of WP.

    Raise a few additional questions:

    Re-entry:
Apply for 1 re-entry each time I leave or get a multi re-entry before the first time I leave?
(2-3 single re-entry cheaper than multiple)

    Tax receipts:
For planning the time for application for visa ext. and when to pay for reentry permit:
Anyone have experience in how long it takes from salary payout/company payment of tax, until Revenue Department can issue receipt?
Maybe need to go for one more 90 days.

  8. I have 3 questions for work permit on Non O visa and extension of Work Permit and visa.

    I have:
Non O Visa, multiple, base on marrige.
Visa valid for entry until mid 2018.
Right now on 2 month extension of last entrance. Expires in november.

    1. Work permit.

I understand that I can get a work permit on the Non O Visa. Right?

How long time will the work permit be valid (job is ordinary job without timeframe).
1 year or until the visa ends or until the current stay ends?

    Actual:
(all papers arranged and application handled be company.)

Got a WP, but only valid until “Admitted until” stamp in passport (end of 2 month extension in November). Bangkok Office.

The staff arranging the WP say they were told that I had to leave Thailand and then extend/renew the WP after return

    - Not clear if I can return on the Non O and then extend WP.

    - Not clear how long the extension of WP will be when enter on Non O.

Is there anyone here that can help?

    2. Documents needed (for finances) for extension of Non O visa based on income from work. Is this here correct?

    3 salary slips.
3 tax payment receipts from Revenue Department
More? (don’t have Por Ngor Dor 91 from last year)
How long time does it take from tax payment date until receipts can be issued at Revernue Department? Any experience?

    3. Time to apply for extension:

Normally should be done within last 30 days of the 90 days given at arrival.

Due to travel with work I might never stay in Thailand 2 month each time to reach the last 30 days to apply in. This could also be an issue when extension of a 1 year extension comes up?

Any way to get around this?

Thanks in advance for all input.

First I've heard of this at that border.  Was this recently?  That "must fly in" lie is usually only told at Poipet/Aranya.  I hope this disease is not spreading.

It was in June this year.

They will scam you if given the chance.  Be sure to show up with $30 USD exact-change plus 100-Baht "tip" - maybe 300-Baht tip if on a same-day return - so under 1350 Baht total max.

I know USD is better for the visa. The price here was not only for the visa, also "return fee". I flled in forms alone without the "visahelpers" (their price 1.900) and got visa and stamped in Cambodia. Refused to stamp me out of Cambodia again if I not went back to the "visahelpers" and paid them up to the full price or stayed 1 night in Cambodia. Around 6-700 "extra fee". Tip was not accepted at check out here.
Poi Pet has last year been 1.200 baht for Cambodian visa and no "one day fee".

  11. Maybe I read the message wrong.

The point in the message is the "only twice a calender year".

Countries that are entitled to 30 days visa exemption, can only enter Thailand twice a year at border crossings.

Then there is a list of the countries that are under the 30 days visa exempt scheme - to show the countries that the rules covers.

Where does it mention that the 15 days are changed to 30 days for border crossings?

  12. Thanks Steve, and sorry for the late feedback.

    I will try this way.

Just little curious about the house book.

We do not stay at the same province as my wifes house book is from (her family place). We stay at rented place and have no house book for this.

What do the house book show that is not in the id card and marriage papers?

Is it still needed or something else needed when we stay for rent?

  13. I have a Non Imm O visa, not extension, based on marriage. Valid 12 month, multiple entry.

6 month in the visa validity.

After 90 days I left Thailand and returned. Now 6 month in validity.

Now next 90 days are up.

    Question now:

Can I get a 60 days extension at Immigration office against payment and after these 60 days expires then leave and return again and get 90 days again.

Or will a 60 days extension make the visa void.

I have made one exit/entry after the first 90 days of the visa and now the next is coming.

In case the extension is an option, which documents are then needed.

Sure you experienced guys here knows.

  14. I want to hear if anyone can confirm stories I have heard.

1 year Non Imm O multiple visa for retirement or marriage gives right to 90 days in Thailand for each stay.

Normally you could then leave Thailand after 90 days and return again same day and get 90 days again.

I heard that this is not possible anymore and considered as visarun.

Do anyone have any information, experience or links about this?

Thanks in advance for your help.
