  1. 10 Million Baht raid of shop selling counterfeit branded items in South Pattaya

    PATTAYA: -- Pattaya Police conducted a raid on a shop containing 10 Million Baht’s worth of counterfeit branded items on Thursday evening. Armed with search warrant number 602/2554 issued by the Pattaya Provincial Court, Police Colonel Tirapon, Deputy Commander of Chonburi Provincial Police, led a raid of a shop unit located on the ground floor of the Baywalk Residence, located at the southern end of Pattaya Beach Road. Inside the shop were three employees and the reported owner of the business, Khun Tanat aged 44. Items seized included counterfeit branded handbags and wrist watches which they sold to mostly foreign patrons. However Police indicated to the owner that the search warrant was issued on the strength of complaints received by foreign customers

  2. Confused Russians fight with transsexuals at South Pattaya Hotel

    PATTAYA: -- Two Russian men were assaulted after they realized they had taken two men back to their rooms for some late night fun, instead of two women. Mr. Nikita Varenenkov aged 22 and Mr. Mickail Samokni aged 23 reported the incident at Pattaya Police Station and was accompanied by two transsexuals who are alleged to have attacked the two Russian Tourists who demanded they repay 1,000 Baht each which had been paid to them for sexual services, with the assumption they were female in gender. As soon as they realized this was not the case, a verbal altercation soon turned physical as the two transsexuals, Mr. Apichart aged 22 a Laos national and Khun Wittaya aged 23, refused to refund the men. At the Police Station evidence of injuries sustained by both parties were examined by Police who ordered everyone to the Hospital to deal with the injuries sustained.

  3. Ukrainian victims of latest Pattaya Jet Ski incident

    PATTAYA: -- Incidents relating to Jet Skis, their operators and customers continue to occur in Pattaya and on Thursday, 5 Ukrainian’s were involved in such a case which began with them hiring 3 Jet Skis on Pattaya Beach in front of the Royal Garden Plaza for a period of 30 minutes. During this time the tourists admitted to colliding and are believed to have caused minor damage to each Jet Ski. At this point the operators surrounded the 3 women and 2 men and demanded they hand over the equivalent of 78,000 Baht in US Dollar currency. The money was demanded prior to an inspection of the damage by a qualified repairman. During the initial confrontation, one of the operators, Khun Sarayoot aged 33 is alleged to have placed his hands around the neck of Miss Eleanor aged 23, an allegation he denies. The three women were allowed to return to their Hotel to collect the money which they reluctantly agreed to pay, leaving the two men at the beach. They were ordered to remain there as guarantee of payment. At this point the Police were called and joined the three women at the Hotel. The Police Officer then made contact with the Jet Ski Operator and asked to inspect the damage. However Khun Sarayoot claimed the Jet Skis had already been taken to the repair shop and could not be inspected.

  4. Drunk Driver hurt in motorbike crash close to Pattaya

    PATTAYA: -- A suspected drunk driver was badly hurt in a single vehicle road accident close to Pattaya in the early hours of Thursday. Police and a medical unit from the Queen Sirigit Hospital in Sattahip were called to the crash which resulted in injuries sustained to Khun Chockchanan aged 33 who admitted to being extremely drunk. According to witnesses, seconds before the crash, he was seen driving at a high rate of speed along the main Sukhumvit Road and was weaving between lanes. Eventually he slammed into a street sign next to the fast lane and was thrown off his bike into the central reservation. He was taken to Hospital

  5. Transsexual suspected of shoplifting from South Pattaya Convenience Store

    PATTAYA: -- A transsexual was accused of stealing items from a convenience store in South Pattaya early on Thursday Morning and was subsequently arrested by Pattaya Police. Workers at a Family Mart Store located close to the Tuk Com IT Center in South Pattaya alerted Police to a suspected thief who had been detained. Police arrived and arrested Khun Waraporn aged 21 who is suspected of shoplifting on a number of occasions. He was caught with six Hershey Chocolate Bars, two bags of M&M’s, one moisturizing cream and a small perfume, with a combined value of 500 Baht. The shop assistants described how the suspect turned his back to the security cameras in an attempt to conceal the alleged theft, however a previous theft was caught on security cameras and was submitted into evidence.

  6. Pattaya Karaoke Girl Groped By Khmer Workers

    PATTAYA: -- Two Thais helping a karaoke girl groped by drunk Cambodian construction workers were viciously whipped by the Khmers and seriously injured.

    Pattaya, December 4, 2011[PDN]; Pattaya police was notified about a group of Cambodian workers who beat up two Thai men in front of Wang Kang Kao karaoke lounge in Nong Yai Soi 8, Pattaya

    At the scene of the fracas the police found a pool of blood and boards of hard wood, steel pipes and bricks on the ground.

    The two injured named Mr. Jaroonrat Toparn age 30, another man unidentified age 30. The two men had both sustained deep head and facial injuries and we’re unconscious. They were immediately sent to Chonburi hospital for surgery.

    Upon investigation the karaoke girl said that a gang of Cambodian construction workers, with the band leader Mr.” Seau “and six others were drinking whisky. They got drunk and one of them touched the breast of Miss “Nong Pang” employee of the lounge.

    The Thai guy, Mr. Jaroonrat and his friend friend witnessed the groping and came to assist Miss “Nong Pang” and told the Khmers to stop and apologise to the the lady. A fight broke out. The six Cambodian gang dragged Mr. Jaroonrat and his friend out of the shop and beat them with hard wood, bricks and steel pipes until Mr. Jaroonrat and his friend were severely injured, bleeding on the ground beside the karaoke lounge.

  7. Two Cambodian Monks questioned by Police at Sattahip Garden Center

    SATTAHIP: -- Two Monks were spotted at a Garden Center in Sattahip on Tuesday Morning and there was a suspicion they were not Thai and may not be real Monks. At 10am on Wednesday Police were called to the location and determined the two Monks were from Cambodia. Both were carrying passports and had entered Thailand legally. Both were carrying papers confirming they were real monks. Police questioned the fact they were receiving alms at this late hour as it was normal practice for monks to do this between 5am and 7am. The Cambodian Monks claimed they were unaware of this and had come to Thailand for a month.

  8. 2 Million Baht robbery from Navy Officer’s house in Sattahip

    SATTAHIP: -- A Navy Officer returned to his house early on Wednesday Morning to find that 2 Million Baht’s worth of Buddhist Amulets had been stolen. Lieutenant Winai aged 58 reported the incident to Sattahip Police who arrived at his house, located at the Napanan Land & Village in Bang Sarae, and were shown the point of entry which was the front door. Evidence of major disturbances throughout the house was seen and the officer confirmed that hundreds of valuable amulets had been stolen. The officer explained that he had left his house at 10pm on Tuesday and travelled to Bang Pra in Sriracha District and stayed with his Wife and Daughter there until he returned to his house early on Wednesday Morning to find it had been broken into, Fingerprint impressions were taken from various locations around the House

  9. Indian Tourist suspected of being drugged and robbed in South Pattaya Hotel

    PATTAYA: -- An Indian Tourist is in a critical condition in Hospital after reportedly being drugged and robbed of possessions following a trip to Pattaya Beach on Monday Night. Mr. Jasim Khamis Lal aged 36 was taken to the Pattaya Memorial Hospital after friends discovered him lying unconscious on his bed on Tuesday afternoon. Mr. Lal is believed to have taken a Thai woman back to his room at the Midtown Inn Hotel on the Pratamnuk Road in South Pattaya at approximately 2am. She is believed to have left the room around Midday according to Hotel staff.

  11. Pattaya 105 FM joins the Tourist Police in aid distribution in flood-hit Bangkok

    PATTAYA: -- Pattaya 105 in conjunction with the Pattaya Tourist Police visited flood affected areas in Bangkok over the weekend to assist in distributing much-needed provisions. Many assume that because of a lack of reporting on the continuing flood crisis in the national press, the situation has returned to normal. In fact many areas are still under water and in the areas where the water has subsided, rotting refuse has been left on the roads which are causing major health hazards around the capital. Early on Sunday Morning Dave Dee from Pattaya 105 who was accompanied by Jerry from Ornate Plaster Craft, located in Soi Khao Talo in East Pattaya joined the Tourist Police and travelled to Bangkok to spend the day distributing food and water.

  12. Laundry room fire at North Pattaya Hotel

    PATTAYA: -- A fire took hold of a laundry room at a Hotel in Naklua, just before 3am on Tuesday. Fire Rescue Units were called to the Pattaya Garden Hotel located on the Naklua Road to deal with the fire which completely destroyed the building, located at the side of the Hotel. We were told that at no point was there any danger that the main Hotel building would be affected and after 30 minutes the fire was contained. Investigators then went in to determine the cause of the fire which was identified as an electrical short circuit. It is believed that sparks came into contact with flammable sheets and towels inside the room

  13. Taxi driver dies as he takes customers from Sattahip to Pattaya

    BANG SARAE: -- A taxi driver died in the early hours of Tuesday as he was taking two customers to Pattaya from Sattahip District. Police and Rescue Workers were called to the front of a petrol station in Bang Sarae, just outside of Pattaya to investigate the sudden death of the driver. He was lying on the road next to his car with saliva and white foam coming from his mouth. Inside his trouser pocket, medication was found which is used to treat high blood pressure. The two shocked passengers in the car, Khun Ganigar aged 22 and Khun Nontayar aged 25 explained the driver, Khun Chen aged 53 reported feeling unwell and was coughing heavily inside the car. He decided to stop the car and vomited on the grass and then fell to the ground and began to convulse.

  14. Further celebrations for His Majesty The Kings 84th Birthday in Pattaya

    PATTAYA: -- On Monday evening a parade took place along Pattaya Beach Road and finished-up at the Bali Hai Port via Walking Street to conclude the day’s events held to celebrate the 84th Birthday of His Majesty The King. Every Police and volunteer division along with government workers and members of the public also took part in the parade. At the Port a stage had been erected featuring a 6 foot high portrait of His Majesty. Khun Itipon, the Mayor of Pattaya led many hundreds in paying Homage to His Majesty and wishing him a very Happy Birthday. A candlelight ceremony featuring a recital of the National Anthem and other songs praising the King took place as Thai’s and foreigners came together to celebrate this auspicious day.

  15. Simple procedure in UK or US but not so simple here.

    I had a tiny chip in my CRV windscreen but after they filled the chip they turned the heat gun on it too quickly and cracked the screen from top to bottom. Cost 9000 baht for a new screen which we agreed to split between us.

  16. Man arrested following theft of money from Pattaya Floating Market store

    PATTAYA: -- A man was caught on his 3rd attempt at stealing money from a money box at a shop located within the Pattaya Floating Market in Jomtien. Police were called to the location by security guards who spotted the suspect, Khun Reungrort aged 23 inside the Mongkol Siam Store, which sells Buddhist-related items and also gives customers the opportunity to fill money boxes and pray in front of life-size models of Buddhist Monks. The suspect claims he was previously employed by the shop and was aware that the money box was not well secured at night

  17. Two transsexuals accused of street robbery involving Turkish Tourist

    PATTAYA: -- A Turkish Tourist who was on his way back to his Hotel was involved in a street robbery where he lost his wallet which reportedly contained 30,000 Baht in cash, ATM and Credit Cards and other personal documents. Mr. Muhamed Gulaged 31 reported the alleged crime at Pattaya Police Station in the early hours of Monday and explained that he was returning to the Siam Bayview Hotel after enjoying a meal at a restaurant located inside Central Festival Pattaya Beach. As he walked back to the Hotel along Pattaya Second Road two transsexuals on one motorbike came up beside him and the passenger jumped off and asked if they could accompany him to his Hotel for some late night frolics.

  18. Indian Tourist attacked and robbed by Thai gang on Pattaya Beach

    PATTAYA: -- An Indian Tourist was badly beaten on Pattaya Beach in the early hours of Monday by a gang of Thai men and women. Mr. Yatindra Nirjun aged 36, who sustained serious facial injuries reported the incident at Pattaya Police Station following the arrest of one of the suspected attackers, Khun Nalaert aged 42 who accepted allegations he was involved. Mr. Nirjun explained he was walking along the beach opposite the Montien Hotel with friends when a group of two women and three men approached Mr. Nirjun and attempted to take items from his trouser pocket following a suggestion the women join Mr. Nirjun at his hotel. The victim reacted quickly but could not prevent the theft of his wallet which contained 20,000 Baht in cash and his mobile phone. The three men in the group allegedly assaulted Mr. Nirjun before running off with their female companions.

  19. The People of Pattaya celebrate the 84th Birthday of His Majesty the King

    PATTAYA: -- On the 5th December, the Kingdom of Thailand celebrates the Birthday of His Majesty the King, who, this year, is 84 years of age. On this day around Thailand celebrations take place, ranging from official government ceremonies to small family gatherings. The 5th December is also known as “Father’s Day” and is a time to pay your respects to your Father. On Monday Morning in the grounds of Banglamung City Hall, we attended the formal ceremony for the District led by Khun Chawalit, the Chief of Banglamung District. Offerings were made to 84 Buddhist Monks from around the District and this was followed by a formal ceremony involving 9 Monks which culminated in a Gun Salute from Banglamung Police who fired a total of 21 times into the air. Local Government Officers and Police Officers from around the District also took part in the event which paid homage to His Majesty the King on this special day
