  1. UK visitor visas are done through VSF who will forward to the UK Embassy. I would be very surprised if the is no interview for the OP case. https://www.gov.uk/browse/visas-immigration/tourist-short-stay-visas

When was the last time you sponsored a UK visa application?

Ps. I've sponsered two successful ones.

  2. I go to big C every saturday afternoon, to get my bread which the lady in the bakery section keeps for me.
Yesterday wife says not go today, many people throw water, i have to go as my bread is laid aside.
Off i trundle on my scooter, first crowd throwing water look at me, man comes over, please he says, small group come to my scooter and only put a few drops on my face.
Off i go next group children all smile say hello, but nobody throws any water.
Coming back from big C, there is a small boy about 6/7 sees me coming, fills his bowl comes running across the road, as i see him starting to throw it i lift my thumb off the accelerator, scooter stops dead, water goes just in front of me, but not a drop on me, his father was in hysterics it what happened, i was still dry.
Arrived home wife says ohh you dry, nobody throwing water.
I'd have booked the local fire dept and given you proper hosing down!!!!!![emoji6][emoji6][emoji6][emoji23][emoji23]

  3. The UK does not have the same requirements as Canada, no face to face interview, applications are dealt with in India, not Bangkok.

Not sure about UK but when I took my Thai girl friend for a visit to Canada for 3 weeks here's what the embassy wanted:
    1. My guarantee to host and fund her stay.
    2. Proof I have the funds for #1.
    3. Letter from her University stating her current status and the visit will not impact to her studies during the scheduled visit.
    4. Her complete family background.
    5. Copies of her and mine return flight tickets (yes it has to be issued ticket to prove your both committed).
    6. Itemized detailed travel agenda of where we will go, who visiting (details of relationship), where staying etc.
    7. A complete family and work  background about myself including my work permit and contract, years in Thailand etc.
    8. An interview with an officer at the embassy. (Dress sharp business attire).
    9. Non refundable fee for the visa whether approved or not.
    +++.

I'm sure the UK embassy has a website you can find all the information.

    Good luck.

  4. H All,

I need some advise and guidance.
I'm a Dutch national who lives long time in Thailand and i'm married for 17 years to my Thai wife.
She has a 5 year Schengen visa and now we want to go on a holiday to the UK for the first time. (First to the Netherlands and then to the UK)
I understood that she have to apply for the visit visa online ( https://visas-immigration.service.gov.uk/product/uk-visit-visa) and after this make a appointment at FVS Bangkok to submit the paperwork.
She should not have any issues with the requirements as i have a good job and a healthy bank account in Thailand with enough property etc.
But i don't know if the supporting documents (Marriage certificate, Bank statements, house books etc) have to be translated into English ?
Also how long and when does the visa is valid for as we maybe go back to the UK in September.
All information and advise is welcome [emoji846]

Had my wife's documents translated in English, her Blue Book, and Bank statement printed in English. Marriage certificate and my yellow book translated also.
Visa is for 6 month stay.

  5. The gentleman struck by the bus was an American from New York City and he died.

His name was Joe (Italian last name) and lived in Center Condo on Pattaya Tai. He had recently returned to Thailand from the USA and lived in Thailand for a number of years. It was reported that he was wearing headphones and may have been distracted while walking. I did know him but only to exchange greetings. I hope this answers some of the questions raised herein.

The accident took place across the street (Pattaya Tai) from Center Condo

    RIP Joe

Gotta be right on ya game walking around live traffic.

  6. I would listen to 'theoldgit', he has extensive knowledge, I listened to him in the past, gave sound advice.

I will not be doing this , she had enough money going into her account now my worry is the length of time she’s been in krabi And the length of time she has had the food stall. He will have staff still running the shop when she’s away and can pay the rent for the year would this be suitable to how she will return to Thailand

  7. Lolololol another Buffaro being led down the primrose path to ruin.

FULL STOP.........don’t waster your time and money.

She will hate it there, it’s too cold, she will be very sad without her friends and family, she will miss her food.......that faux Thai crap in U K will be a big nothing to her.

Why do u want to take her there?
Ohhhhh just to show off your new GF that’s less than 1/2 your age?

    Yup, that’s what I thought.

If you are smart.......you will LISTEN......YOU are on the road to ruin.
If you aren’t too smart, you will pursue getting her a Visa for U K and if u do that..........when your lights finally come on, remember the nice guy on T V that tried to warn you it would happen
    Open another bottle.

  8. i'm not bragging... almost 50 years old and rode my bicycle for over 3 hours.  I left at 11 a.m.  Sometimes it is too much, but today was OK.

drink like 4 water bottles per hour if you can in this heat, so that means stopping every hour and taking a 5-minute break to drink.

I know a few guys who're around 70 and do that regularly at this time of year.

  9. Nothing like my story.i once landed back in the uk and the very next day while going through my mail/bills I found someone had used my card details and withdrew £2499.99.i was straight on the phone to the company and they said my details were used in a fraud.i was told not to worry and was reimbursed within a couple of days.i was actually on my long haul flight to London when the transaction took place.

How were they able to withdraw that amount?
