I was thinking of doing a short trip out of Thailand and then come back a few weeks later.

Where can I buy this health insurance while I am still in Thailand to prepare for my trip?

Which health insurance do you recommend that will not be expensive but cover all the imm. requirements?

I used my existing insurance. Search in Google for mr prakan they have several insurance policies that will cover what you need

    This is really confusing.

    1. I hope somebody clarifies whether the health insurance is required for people on 1 year visa or just for tourists?

    2. If it applies for people on 1 year visa/extension, then how long should we be covered for?

    3. Must the insurance also include Covid hospitalization?

    1. Insurance is required for people on 1 year visa.

    2. Your insurance will have to be valid for the period of your extension. My health insurance runs out on the 14th February but I got

it extended to 03rd April is which is the date my retirement extension is renewed.

    3. Yes it has to cover Covid, I asked my insurance company for a letter stating that fact which satisfied the requirement and it was accepted

The hotline numbers have 3 cell phones and one fixed line....no toll free numbers....will they work? or will the cell phone numbers be busy with FB searches....

This whole thing is serious...people are giving up their applications......

I have a family member who is at the "give up stage"!

Nobody answered any of my calls to the 06 numbers and if you call the 02 number you get a message to select 9 for English and then everything is in Thai

after that....waste of time, also you never get a reply from the Support email address

  4. First attempt at getting the Thailand Pass, received the confirmation email but no access code.

Second attempt I made yesterday and received the confirmation email which included the access code.

Received my Thailand pass this morning approx 12 hours after applying but noticed that my arrival date was

wrong 29th November instead of 30th November.

Checked the actual QR code and my DOB and Vaccination dates were also 1 day out.

Third try was 1 hour ago, email received along with the access code.

Everybody that has received a Thailand Pass should check there QR code to make sure that all the details are correct.

  5. Went to the Ministry of Public Health in Pattaya to get my yellow International vaccine certificate. Handed over my copy of passport, copy of flight ticket and the digital vax certificate issued by the Ministry of Public Health. Good job I had my original vax certificate from the hospital because the certificate from the MOPH was not acceptable even though I was at a MOPH Office...

Took me 4 minutes to find the following on Qatar site

What are the country entry and exit requirements?

    Test Certificate Requirements

    England, Scotland, Northern Ireland, Wales

    • Unvaccinated travellers must have a pre-departure COVID-19 PCR or LAMP or an antigen test (such as a test from a lateral flow device) issued within 72 hours before departure.

    • Fully vaccinated travellers are not required to have a pre-departure test.

Finally received a reply from Qatar Airways confirming that no PCR test is required

I recently had a quote from Roojai for the renewal for my car and they are quoting me a higher premium than last year for slightly less coverage, my no-claims bonus is the same as last year at 50%.

I went online to get a quote as a new customer and for the same coverage as shown in their renewal quote, I was offered a price that was 1,700 baht cheaper.

I called them up to ask why my policy premium had increased when I had not made a claim and was told that they have to charge me "the market price". When I said that they are a company and its up to them what they charge, I was told, no, we have to charge the market price.

Does anyone have any ideas about this as, frankly, I'm finding it hard to believe.

I then told them I could get the same quote at a cheaper price if I applied online as a new customer and was told that the online quote didn't have the complete information and they would look into it and call me back. I know one piece of information that isn't in the online quote that they ask before they give the final quote and that is whether you're a Thai national or not.

I was asked that last year and the year before.

Meanwhile. my wife, who as I posted above, made a claim last year, paid less than the previous year on her renewal, which was made a few months ago.

I would hate to think that Roojai are operating a dual-pricing policy for foreigners.

Just had a quote from Roojai and the premium for me was less than it was for my Thai Partner....Dual Pricing!!!!

Hi AliG. The Consular team can answer this one for you. Yes, it is. HMG staff working overseas have access to the national COVID-19 vaccination programme in line with the prioritisation set by the UKThis is because as we have said on this forum before we have a duty of care to ensure staff and dependants overseas in the diplomatic network are vaccinated.

On your second point, the UK government recognises it needs to consider how to treat British nationals who have been vaccinated overseas. Work is ongoing to determine which non-UK vaccines may be recognised. You can keep an eye on progress on this work here

So the vaccine that you and your staff received in Thailand is recognised by the UK yet the Pfizer vaccine I received in Thailand is not, discrimination there i think
