Hi, I believe I need an operation for a hernia. Has anyone had surgery in Bangkok to repair a hernia? i would be grateful for any advice regarding hospital choice, also, does anyone have any idea about cost? Thank you in advance.

my family and I had a cheap out at new year. A boat on the river, stoipped off at Wat Arun. visited a market somewhere. it was very enjoyable. You could even go to Ko Kret.
Well, I say cheap - it was untill we went to Asiatique and the missis developed a taste for Belgian beer.

My 14 yr old has been studying muay thai at a nearby gym in Bangkok. i asked on the off chance of a course with the objective of 1. getting healthier / fitter and 2. self defence (not that ive ever had the need to self defend in Thailand).
They talked me through a few things and the instructer emphasized that my age (54) shouldnt hold me back, they would start slow and build up.
im thinking about it. i would love to for the fitness aspect and also learning a bit of local culture - but im a lazy <deleted>!!

no bored "per se." What is that? French, Italian?
What does it mean when you say per se?: by, of, or in itself or oneself or themselves : as such : intrinsically. per se.I believe it is Latin- 1

i think i didnt explain clearly - I didnt mean continuously. in 17 years i did get married and have 1 son, work, hobbies, friends.....
Ive seen soi 4 over 17 years and have sat there from time to time watching the world go by. still do occassionally, but started to find it less enjoyable now.
As i said, i have more fun with the missis.

no bored per se. I enjoy sitting on Soi 4 and just watching the world go by. I just feel a bit jaded after 17 years of it. Funnily enough i have a lot more fun sinking a few Leos and a couple of doobies with mrs Nik on a Saturday night.

strange that you can get married and, presumably, have kids before you can vote or have a beer.

BMA insists they are ready and prepared to tackle PM2.5
If they only do what they did last year and the year before that then i dont think so. Still, it's good to be positive !!!

i live and work in Bangkok and have a sort of love / hate relationship with the city depending on the time of week. Monday morning vs Friday evening if you get my drift.

only one guy I know of. A good friend of mine lived in Thailand for a few years, was already married to a Thai lady but she had lived with him a while in the NE of UK. They bought a house near Rayong and after his wife gave birth, he was out ASAP with family back to the UK.
We met up for a drink the night before he flew home. He was so negative about almost everything in Thailand. I asked if there wasnt something positive he was going home with after his time here and he replied he had a vague sense of having lived somewhere tropical. That was it.
This was years ago, i still recieve messages about how he absolutely made the right decision to go home, couldnt be happier etc.
Each to thier own and the best of luck to him.
Only problem is, he put the seeds of doubt into my head.

It's just how much you pay.
Walked yesterday to soi 4.
The 2 or 3 bars on the left site were well visited. Mostly farang and I didn't see a single one having something to eat.
They were sitting and having drinks out of bottles. Not using any mugs.
the cluster of newish bars accessed from Soi 7 were bouncing on Saturday night.
