As long as you are one of the lucky ones whose Embassy is still issuing letters!
If your Embassy no longer issues a "Proof of Income" letter and if your pension is insufficient to cover the 40,000 baht a month requirement (I would suspect that would mean a lot of people), the way I read it is that the 40,000 baht a month (or possibly the difference between your pension and 40,000 baht - this is not clear) has to be paid into a Thai bank account.
I am not that much concerned with the amount of money to be given the retirement visa. It's more dealing with Banks here instead of making many safe and invested back home. And it's quite straightforward to get an affidavit from my ambassador with official taxes documents and my pension statement. Happy they didn't change this.

Yes it will be accepted. See this topic that has a translation of the amendment.
Very good news. At least it allows to avoid Thai Banks to get Chunk of our money charging fees and giving very bad exchange rates. Thanks for your reply.

Some ambassies still provide affidavits letters confirming financial resources for their citizens such Canada. Does it mean, a letter still be accepted as proof of resources or not?

If you live in Nonthaburi you have to apply for the extension at the immigration office there.
Bangkok immigration would not accept the application with a Nonthaburi address shown on the TM7 form.
thank you so much for your valuable advice.

At the Nonthaburi immigration office per your example.
You could do both forms at the same time.
thanks for your reply. is the extension of temporary stay (retirement visa renewal) can still be done in Bangkok or must be done in nonthaburi if residence is in nonthaburi?

If you got 31 bahts few years ago for a loonie,. You can still convert your bahts into Canadian dollars and it takes only 25 bahts to get a loonie. Actually, you are richer if you convert to Canadian dollars.

It's xenophobia, not racism.
This understanding will also keep the thread shorter.
All I can hope for is another good-looking, non-asiatic kid from the same condo starts at the same school OR another 100% Thai or otherwise Asiatic kid from the same condo starts at the same school. If either of their parents gets charged 3000 baht, problem solved.
It's not xenophobia neither racism. Thai have constructed a false idea that farang are rich (most are living in meegre pensions and teaching salaries) then they think charging more is normal,. The rich Thais give big tips and are quite generous toward those who give them services. Maybe farangs who behave like rich should show their real financial status by being humble. Lol

Yeah. Civilized farangs chocked from people not doing what they think is the right way. I frequently have to run from farangs in bts,MRT etc... Because they smell so bad, this is not prejudice, it's real.:-)

At least you know when they are lying? Yes, lying comes easy to the average Thai girl. My Wife's sister is the Queen of the liars. Just unbelievable stuff and sadly it damages the whole family. She manages to lie to her 76-year old American partner who is besotted with her not realising the damage she is doing to him. He then takes her side and believes all the sh** she spills out. Horrible, just horrible. I think he'll find out that she's taking his money to give to her ex-thai husband! I hate liars. Fortunately I have not yet caught my wife lying after 6 years together - she's actually too honest for her own good.
You are experiencing same thing like your friend and your wife is probably like her sister hhhhh

Quote - Thai street food is so amazing
Yep, got to love that MSG, salt, sugar and chemical seasoning. Yummy
P.S.
Oh .. and those farm fresh fruit and veg with insecticide marinades. Delicious
Not mentioning lack of hygiene for almost all Street food vendors, frying ten of times in same palm oil etc....

They should provide you with the documents you need but at same time, it is more than reasonable from their side to ask for an increase of rental since it has not changed for 16 years.

Just install superrich application for exchange rate on your phone because it gives one of the best rates in Thailand and show them the rate, they will use it.
I do it each time.

Start business with 1000 baht. Lollllllll
Made my day. Brilliant farangs.

Wherever you eat here, you are guaranteed lot of palm oil, tons of salt and Sugar and eventually MSG. Only home cooked food is healthy.

I am confused now. I am leaving just for few weeks and coming back. That's why I was wondering. Maybe don't need to report due to grace period

Hi folks
Need your insights.
My 90 days reporting is due for July 5th. I am leaving Thailand July 8th for holidays.
Am I still need to report or it's not necessary?
Thanks
Is affidavit from embassy still accepted
in Thai Visas, Residency, and Work Permits

Do immigration still accept affidavit from embassy as sole proof of funds for extension of stay for retirement?
Note our embassy still deliver affidavits based on tax documents.
Thanks
