Not sure how they do the dates on work permits. It might be dated May 1st.
Alright. Thanks, Joe!
-
It will be 3 months. The work permit extension starts at the end of the current one.
So if my WP expires on Feb. 1 and renew it, it'll then expire on April 30.
Am I correct?

So if Im not wrong I can go to Laos on Oct 4 but I'll be needing first a termination letter and send it to immigration before that date.?
Thanks!
I'm afraid you'd have to go to the immigration office in person with a termination
letter from your employer so that the IO can post date the cancellation of your
visa extension in your passport.
So if you want to enter Laos on Oct. 4, you can go to the immigration office with
the letter on Oct. 2 to post date it. This is what ubonjoe suggested, I'd say.

Hello Joe,
Thanks for your info as always.
As for a WP renewal, exactly which one is right, 3 months or 90 days?
Will the expiry date of my WP I've got on me now be included in the
renewal period or not?
-
Hello,
Both my Non-B extension and WP as well as my contract expire
early next year. I might renew my contract for only 3 months.
I'd love to renew my WP for only 3 months simply because it costs
you only 750B, which is much cheaper than 3,000B for a 1-year
renewal.
How much longer will my Non-B extension be extended for then,
just 3 months or 1 year?
Thank you in advance.

Hello,
When I went to the immigration office for a single re-entry permit,
I told the IO that I would be away from Thailand for more than 2
weeks and asked him when my next 90-day report would be. I
had already got a slip of paper in my passport with my next 90-day
report date on it.
He answered me that this wouldn't reset the clock and the date on
the slip was still my next 90-day report. I have been doing a 90-day
report since that date no problem.
It'd be best to ask the IO about the date.

It would be nice to have a tourist visa that is good for 6 months, without having to leave Thailand at
all during that time. I am not on of the people that only wants a couple of months in
Thailand, then have to go elsewhere in only 2 months, as that is extra money from my wallet
just to make the visa people make more money from me leaving every 60 days.
Oh well I guess this is a start.
I wonder if this new 6-month multiple-entry tourist visa will allow you to stay
in Thailand for 6 months in a row, without even having to leave Thailand
once during that period of time.
If you stay in Thailand for over 90 days on end, you must do a 90-day report,
and I don't think tourists are put in this category.

Enjoy some (cheap!) Vietnamese beer!

Hello,
I entered Thailand by air when my passport was good for a bit more than
6 months and left the kingdom when it was valid for less than 6 months
no problem. It's been several years since then, though.
Good luck.
-
-
Hello,
You'd be alright unless you should stop over anywhere they'll need your passport
to be good for at least 6 months before entering there on your way back home.
Good luck.
-
Hello,
Exactly! This is Thailand.
I'd say you might be asked to pay 100B for it when you go pick it up in a few
days. You'll be alright.
My colleague at school renewed his WP a few months ago but got it done
on the day he applied for it. I'd think it depends upon the immigration office.
Can I ask you one thing now? Which one did you do first, your WP renewal
or your Non-B extension? We have to do the extension first, and then the
renewal here.

Flights from Suvarnabhumi to Hanoi on VietJet Air round trip approx B4,200.
Enjoy.
When looking at their site its not 100% clear that they use suvarnabhumi, is there any way to confirm this. They look a lot like air asia that is why I worry they fly from don muang.
Already checked that out......they fly from Suvarnabhumi
Thanks a lot, sounds a lot cheaper.. and never been to Vietnam. Seems like a good option if i want to safe some money
I flew VietJet (VJ) from Bangkok to Saigon (Ho Chi Minh City) last year. I first went to Dong Muang by mistake
but was lucky enough to still have 3.5hr before departure and then hop on the Airport Shuttle Bus (for free) to
get to Swampy. A return ticket between BKK and Saigon on VJ starts at 3,400B (all inclusive) now.
Just go to this website for Vietnam visa-exemption. You'll probably be requested to show the IO an onward ticket
upon arrival, though.

Hello,
This should depend upon the immigration office, I'd say.
Good luck.

Hello,
It'd be better for you to get a 60-day tourist visa in Laos. A 30-day visa-exempt stamp wouldn't
be enough if you had to apply for a Thai police clearance. It took me a month to get one at
Royal Thai Police in Bangkok last year.
Good luck.

Hello,
This is what my colleague at school did a few months ago.
He extended his Non-B extension first, and then renewed
his WP.
Hope this helps.
What my colleague added was he got his Non-B extension and
WP renewal done on the day he applied for them and that you
could do both these two in a day if you could afford to go to the
Immigration Office in the morning for the extension and then to
the Labour Office in the afternoon for the renewal.

Hello,
If it's not your option to fly to Thailand from Japan to get a visa-exempt stamp upon
arrival in the kingdom, you can fly Air Asia to Penang from Tokyo or Osaka via Kuala
Lumpur to apply for a TV at the Thai Consulate.
Good luck.

What is the quickest option from Hua Hin?
No where is going to to be close by.
Mae Sot is the closest I think. After that perhaps Rangoon.
The quickest would be to arrange a flight form Bangkok to one of places mentioned in the topic.
There is also the train sooth to Hat Yai..and then Pedang Baser.
Ranong is a option from HH, approx 4.5 hours by car,
I spoke with Ranong Immi this morning, it is ok to activate the 2nd part of a Double Entry TV there, you must show 20,000 Baht and a onward ticket out of Thailand
Iam planning to go there on 30th September if things do not change, see my post in the HH Forum about this
If you don't have your own wheels, It'd be best to find a travel agency for the visa-run transport service.
Otherwise you'd book a Phuket-bound bus and get off at Ranong. I don't know about the timetable,
though. OR you'd have to hop on a mini-van for Prachuap Khiri Khan (about 1.5hrs), where you can
change mini-vans for Chumphon (about 2hrs), where you can change again for Ranong (about 2hrs).
These mini-vans run very frequently, at least once an hour or even once a half hour, depending upon
the time of the day. You can also spend a night in Chumphon and then head to Ranong the following
morning.
FYI, I know a Dutch couple who have been living in Thailand for more than 1 year now. They're on
their 3rd double-entry TV now. Last time they went to Ranong to activate their 2nd entry on their 2nd
double-entry TV, they were told by the IO not to come back there to activate their 2nd entry anymore
and to go to one of the other border crossings instead.

I find that the ceapest is to fly to Vietnam.
Check Vietnam's visa requirements!
I can stay 15 days.
Yes, you're right. As a Danish passport holder you can stay in VN for up to 15 days
on a visa-exempt stamp but you'll be requested to show an onward ticket upon arrival.
-
Hello,
FYI, you can get only 15 days (not 30 days) to stay in Thailand if you enter Thailand
by land on a visa-exempt stamp as an AUS passport holder because you're not from
a G7 country.

I might come back to Thailand at Chong Mek on a visa-exempt stamp after
I've cancelled my Non-B. Having gone through this border so many times,
I remember that there's a Krung Thai Bank exchange booth with an ATM
right at the border. It's not even a 1-minute walk from Passport Control, I
believe. Would they allow me to go through to the ATM and check the
balance for them first if I should be asked to show them the money on
the spot?
One more question now.
Would I get stopped and asked some questions at the border posts if I
tried to come back to Thailand on a visa-exempt stamp after I have lived
here on a Non-B with a WP for more than a year? Would they suspect me
of going back to work illegally?
"Would they allow me to go through to the ATM and check the
balance..."
Of course they wouldn't, you cannot enter Thailand without being stamped in by Immigration and if you can't show that you have the funds, if they ask for that, you won't get that stamp.
You won't be quizzed about previous visas but even if you were, you would be able to explain it, wouldn't you?
Yes, this is Thailand, NOT Indonesia where I've seen some tourists allowed to go through
to the bank located beyond Passport Control to exchange for the local currency first (not
escorted), come back to pay for a VOA and then get stamped in at Passport Control. 555
Thanks for your advice.

Online banking (with more than one local account)... just move funds between your accounts a few times a year. Virtually no fees if it's in the same region and some banks don't have a fee for the first X transactions per month. Same deal for anyone with funds parked anywhere for long term savings.

If out of the country while doing this you may need to be able to receive OTP on a thai registered SIM card.
Thank you. Good to know them.

3 Can I show the IO my passbook to prove that I have more than 20,000B in
the account before they let me in on a visa-exempt stamp if I still have the
account and should be asked to show them the money?
No, you can't.
The passbook only shows the balance when it was last updated. You could have withdrawn all the money since then but not updated the passbook.
Exactly.

When can I extend my Non-B extension?
in Thai Visas, Residency, and Work Permits
Posted
Hello,
My Non-B extension expires early next year, so
when can I extend it? A month before the expiry
or after the last 90-day report before the expiry?
Thank you in advance.
