  1. This topic is not false.

Months ago a Dutch guy living in Nongkhai region talked about in a Dutch forum. He said exactly what's mentioned here.

He sent that statement to me, I have a print of it. It's true.

When I was at Immi 80 days ago they asked me whether I have an extension based on 800,000 in the bank OR income. No, for me it's 800,000 in the bank. Why you ask?

They told me about this new thing but for people who get an extension based on 800,000 in the bank there is no problem.

In that forum people told about their new extension elsewhere in Thailand. Well, Nongkhai is the only Immi post that wants this thing.

Some people here go to Bangkok Immi cause of the sometimes weird demands of the Immi here. In Bangkok the Immi says, I quote, ' Yes, well, that's Nongkhai...' So we grin and bear it.

We also bear that in this Immi the embassy's income statement MUST be stamped at Chaeng Wattana to certify the signature of the ambassy clerk..... Nongkhai seems to be the only Immi that want the bankletter from the same day as the application for extension. We bear it.

But this new thing causes problems to many who have income just over the 65.000 p.m. cause the euro is going up and down.

If someone tells me how to post here the PDF file (I don't know.......) I will do it.

    Erik

  3. For 20 years my wife has struma. Her cervix is " filled well" and better than mine. The thyroid gland is bigger than usual but the composition is smooth, even, no bulging. It is not growing for years and years.

We have visited a general practitioner in Khon Kaen and she wanted an 'echo' and the result is this....

Abnormal result. The study showed multiple inhomogeneous echoic solid masses at bilateral thyroid lobes size 6,9 mm to 26,5 mm. Hypervascular appearance is seen. There were a few subcentrimeter middle cervical nodes enlargement>>nonspecific finding. The skin and nipples are intact. Impression: multiple solid thyroid masses.

We got a bloodtest also and the chemistry lab says...

    Free T4 1,2, normal 0,7 to 1,8 ng/dl

    Total T3 113,8, normal 61 to 177 ng/dl

    TSH 0,48 normal 0,50 en 5 ulU/ml.

    This is not abnormal ?

We are a bit worried about the words 'hypervascular appearance'.

The general practitioner does not give any medication until the throat doctor has taken a biopsy and has this tested for cancer.

Is this normal ? Are these figures normal ? Does hypervascular appearance mean that there is cancer ?

I appreciate your opinion. And I apologize for my poor English.

  4. I need arch support since the pain is increasing in my feet. I had this kind of support all my life but since I live in TH I did not take it (not so easy in slippers...) but now I do need these things.

In Nongkhai where I live not available. Anyone about Udon, KhonKaen, Khorat, Bangkok ?

    Thanks.

  5. Moe666, they asked the bank books and the copies and the bank letter. So I gave them.

Hgma, the mofa stamp was checked and in July, I was there for my 90 days, they confirmed that this stamp is needed. But it might depend on the officer...... Their instructions still say that Mofa stamp is needed.

Maestro, Belgian nationals get this embassy letter by post; they do not come in person to the embassy.

    Whatever.....got my stamp........

  6. Smooth as silk ! There is a Dutch saying: as if an angel is peeing on your tongue….

Went to the Immigration Office today and presented….

    - TM7 with a new photo.

    - The income statement “new style” from the Dutch embassy; and this paper has been verified at the Consulair Section of Foreign Affairs at Chaeng Wattana, Laksi, since I know how important this is for the officials in NK. They told me “ next year new one”.

My income according to this letter is over 20 k euro (x 42 is…). Actual too….

( This verification at Laksi costs 400 baht plus the fee for the person who is willing to go there and wait for hours….. Three days later the stamp/seal is in your place by post. )

    - The bank letter (same day) stating my balance from abroad, the bankbook, copies of all pages from last 12 months, and a view of the 1,2 M baht I brought into the country in past 12 months. They checked it and gave the stuff back to me.

    - The copy of the housebook (I rent a house), the copy of my landlady’s ID, and the rental contract which they sometimes want to see. They kept that stuff.

    That’s it.

I gave them proof of my income; translated to English: they did not even look at it.

I paid 1,900 baht and have my extension. Happy !

    But…..

What is the change ? There is a change: all previous years the Dutch embassy checked my income. My bank book, my annual statements of pension and deposit accounts, sometimes even my pension policies. I could handle this stuff by post and bank payment, let’s say less than 2,000 baht per year.

Now I have to report at the embassy ”in person”. That means 4 k baht for the air planes, 2 k at least for cabs (I live in a remote area in Nongkhai province and have no car), 1,300 baht for the embassy fees, so this new “system” costs me a lot more money and what is the benefit for Thailand ? No benefit since now nobody is checking my (or your) income. Just file some amount and go to the Immigration Office.

Before this new rule almost every embassy checked the income thoroughly and now…..

So I think this new system will not be continued…….

  7. You ask a lot ! I think 15 to 20 km from town but not at the riverside the price will be about 300 k baht per rai. Could be less. Than you are lucky. As soon as people see a farang price will go up. Keep low profile and stay in the car, let your Thai partner do the negotiation.

A dam ? What do you mean with a dam ? Why ?

Low lying soil is OK for farming ? What kind of farming ? Rice, yes. Cows, no. Building your house no. So look carefully at the soil and come here in the rainy season, your land may be flooded....

220 V the max you get when you are lucky, citywater is available here, chanote means that YOU look good at the papers (hire a good lawyer, not every piece of land has a chanote, do not get fooled by the red bird, a lawyer you find in Udon....) and do not hurry. Say "no" and come back later.

  8. You want to deposit 400,000 b for your visa. So you come to this country with a non im O visa. That should be OK for Kasikorn Nongkhai as far as I remember. I got the current acct here on a T visa and a second acct later with my ret extension.

By the way, you want to deposit 400 k for your visa ? Than a deposit in cash is not OK, it must be a transfer from abroad.

And no a/o account. In your name only. And no deposit. A current or savings acct.

    Good luck.

  9. So change the province/region. Find a fellow farang who owns a house in some way and is in the yellow housebook and can sign the papers that you rent his house. Sometimes they do not accept that and want the owner of the soil to sign: well, that is that farang's lady. In that case you live for just one day in that province/region and can you ask for an extension there. And than you move to some province where your lady happens to rent or own a house....

It is so strange that every offical can make his/hers own rules. I have the same problem in my province. I now have the statement from the embassy that I signed a piece of paper stating my income in euro. That piece of paper must be verified at Chaeng Wattana.

To prove my income I must show evidence over 2 months. And that evidence, if not in TH or Eng, must be translated and verified too..... I am working on that item now. My bankaccounts and annual statements are in Dutch......

  10. KimoMax, this is from the latest letter from Nongkhai Immigration...

    6. The Bank must issue a letter of verification stating the currect balance ....etc

And at the end : (Note: money must be in a Thai Bank and transfered into the account from abroad.)

So, it is not a general rule what you said; it could be the rule in some immigration offices. Forttunately you are living in a region where things go nicely. Lucky you !

  11. Something else about this change.

My income statements were until now stating my YEAR income; now the Imm Police wants me to state my MONTHLY income. Income is, according to the Nongkhai Imm Police, and I quote their letter,

"pension, interest, investment pay off, etc"

Pensions tend to come monthly although you might get, in July, an "inflation correction" or a raise so that the actual pension should be calculated as the year amount divided by 12.

Investment pay off's, as dividends, usually get paid when the books are closed so once per year. Interest on a deposied account usually comes once per year.

What would they like to see in my bankaccount ? I can show my pension every month, but investments pay off and interest deposit only once a year or when the year is over. How should they handle this kind of income ?

    And than the "etc....." ?

    And...

nowadays people, like me, don't have bankstatements of annual income statements by post. We live in 2011; I get this stuff by email of download it from the website of the banks. I can "prove" the money came in by giving them a bank statement from ... internet ! I can also prove I brought the money into Thailand...that's on hard copy in a confirmation of the Thai bank.

I am afraid we get a lot of problems with this new rule. It will, for me, end up with 800 k in the bank next year.

  12. This is the letter I got from the Dutch embassy; yes, it's in Dutch.....with my simple translation.....

    ==

Thai authorities want more checks on the year-income of foreigners who like to extend a ret "visa". Until now this income statement had hardly been checked by the Imm police; that has changed now.

This is about fraud.........there has been fraud with income "documents"

The Dutch citizen signs the statement about his income and the embassy verifies his signature.

(It does not say that the embassy cheks the income papers.) I know the Belgian embassy does !

De verantwoordelijkheid over juiste weergave van inkomen ligt bij de burger zelf en de Thaise Immigratie Autoriteiten controleren daarna jaaropgave/bankrekening etc.

Responsible for the figures is the Dutch citizen only. The Imm Police cheks the annual income statement and bankaccounts etc.

How can a Thai official, with all due respect, check a Dutch/Chinese/Japanese bankaccount and income papers ? I meet officials with knowledge of English as poor as mine.......

  13. I check this weekend for you. Heart of town will be difficult, but a "moo baan" at about 3 km or more should be possible at reasonable prices.

By the way, since you are in NK so many times, why not make a nice leaflet with your demands and ask to hang it at the door of ....several places are willing to help you, Carsten, Brandon, Danish Baker, Rudy the German Baker, just ask people.

    Good luck !
