  1. This is why i am here asking your opinion... my passport is filled with METV. To date I only have 2 VE entries and 1 extension all of which happened in 2025. Haha! i wouldn't call it a side shuffle, just trying to do things the way they want it. I only need 90 more days and then i am home for months. When I return, back to the METV. Thanks guys...
  2. Normally, I come with METV (eVisa) and have never had a problem with same day return. This season I come VE from the USA (Sep 25), 30-day extension, VE from Vietnam (Dec 29), and will bounce KUL Feb 26, with an eVisa dated Jan 4 that expires in April, I think that I am good to enter and 30-day extend?
  3. I have done this same day round trip many times. Anyone done this recently?
  4. Update: i ended up going to saigon and applying for my evisa there. however, i had to return before it was emailed to me so i entered visa exempt. my evisa doesn't expire until april. any reason i can't use it my next entry? i plan on going to KUL so i will be entering from there...

We are looking for someone in or around Maha Sarakham that could help with some paperwork. A friend of mine was diagnosed with cancer while in Maha Sarakham and has returned home. We are looking for someone who can gather some paperwork there and ship it to him. You will be compensated for your time and reimbursed for your expenses. DM me if you can help... ... tim
  6. i disagree, i am sure there are businesspeople who do this often and they will not bother them...
  7. he did not keep his records but did not make a significant amount of money. most of the substantial amount was transferred into thailand. he went to the bank and had his funds transferred into a cashier's check before he left that was later refused by kasikorn...
  8. you are returning to your home country between each trip, right? i don't think you have anything to worry about... +
  9. Either way I travel to Saigon for an e-visa or until after the first of the year. What will they require as proof? an entry stamp likely? and how long for the e-visa process in Vietnam? anyone have a clue? Also, my first extension of 2025 was on an e-visa entry. My entry in September 2025 was my first VE ever. Does this change anything?
  10. I am in my 60’s, from USA, retired and stay in Thailand for 6-8 months (Oct-May) a year. I did the NON-O thing for years but since I am here less than a year, I decided to just do the METV which was perfect for me. Last season the immigration officer looked at me with my e-visa in hand and said that I don’t need that anymore. This season I decided to forgo the METV (fail). Now my extension ends Dec 23 and it’s my second for 2025. Will I need to leave until after the first of the year? Can I apply for an e-visa in a nearby country and pick up a visa at the Thai embassy or will they email my e-visa like they do in the USA? What are my options? And thank you…
  11. does anyone know of a service that can help him navigate this situation?
  12. My friend discovered he had cancer and left Thailand. It is doubtful that he will return. He would like to transfer funds from his Thailand Kasikorn account to his bank in Canada but is experiencing difficulties. Something about a checkbox that asks if money was made in Thailand. I move money into Thailand all the time but have not tried to move it out of the country. Can someone with knowledge of moving moey please step in and point us in the right direction...
  13. I noticed immigration is offering 60-day visa exemption that is extendable 30 days. I cannot find any information that would limit the number of times this can be done. Is it truly unlimited at all crossings (land and air)? It has been almost a month. What do we know?
  14. Per calendar year? or per 12 months? big difference...
  15. yes, "real" employment is a problem. especially for the rural people who go to the cities with a skill just for a seasonal job. i suggested they make deposits into the bank of their earnings so this can be used as a record of employment even if they are contracted. will this help? how about blacklisted (or blocklisted)? this will automatically eliminate them from a loan at a bank. has anyone worked through the process of removing a person from this list?
  16. I have a friend that has an unsecured loan on 1 million baht and pays 25k baht a month to service the loan. She will have to sell her land cheap in order to pay this loan off. I asked her why she did not just get a 20-year mortgage for her land. She didn't really know what that was. Is there a mortgage industry here in Thailand and if so, what banks or institutions provide funding for home mortgage loans? Thank you!
  17. And this is exactly what happened to me yesterday. She asked me how long i intended to stay in thailand this time and i told her that i was not sure. She then asked me for my return flight confirmation to the USA and i told her that i provided that information when i originally applied for my ME visa but did not know that it was required on a subsequent entry. She also asked me where i was staying and many other things that is required on the original application. I told her that was required and all is on file with my original application. Then i kindly reminded her that my evisa grants me the right to enter the country as many times as needed. I smiled at her and said that she needed to handle this however she wanted to and that i would take it up with the immigration office downtown phuket if were not given the 60 days that was expected. I was very kind and understanding... ... she gave me 60 days
  18. yes, from the immigration line in Malaysia
  19. i didn't ask, sorry...
  20. is there a reason why you are flying to Loas instead of udon thani?
  21. no idea! i just saw the guy ahead of me pay 1800 baht
  22. can you explain how this works?
  23. and you get there by bus from phuket?
  24. the last i heard it was 1800 baht, no offense taken...
