Using Friday's exchange rate your monthly income would be 47,922 baht. That is a annual income of 575,064 baht which means you would need around 225,000 baht in the bank to reach the required total of 800,000 baht.
How does it work with "seasoning" in this case?
The 225,000 baht must be seasoned for 2-3 months or it is not needed?
Thanks

So you want to use an ILLEGAL route and are asking people on here for the cheapest option????????????
why are you saying it is illegal? if you use the COMBINATION method (fixed monthly certified income + bank deposit) there is no law asking for the deposit to be seasoned, so for example you may ask for a bank loan or a friend giving you the money for few days to be added to your certified monthly income, and then pay him/her back. This is FULLY LEGAL for what I know. Combination method = no seasoning. Am I wrong?

I think you need to read the thread again, not me.... the number of days of combined paid tourist or visa-excepts is triggering the alert for some, and its looking like 180 days.
No mention of other kinds of visas triggering the alert, only combinations of paid tourist or visa-except ...yet others in excess of these combined days of paid tourist or visa-except are getting in OK ( lack of consistency again) , and that may be due to getting in before the new criteria for alerts, which might have come into force when the OP entered ...it is still to be seen if a deluge of people start reporting the same as the OP from this time period onwards.
ok up to you. Bye

I just read the entire thread and are they not tallying any combination of 180 days of tourist entries triggering a red flag against people on entry ?
No. It's not just against all people on tourist visa. It's against people who are suspected to be working illegaly bacause of no evidence of funds from outside Thailand and living in the Kingdom at the same time. If you get a METV you have to prior show at least 6000 euro, so no problem entering Thailand. Then if you have evidence of further funds/cash on you it's even better. That's what I understand as of now.

This may render the METV worthless for some people going back home and all the trouble to get it, if their rolling tourist totals (paid and /or exempts) are 180+...flying in only to be bounced back home .....= nightmare.
It seems you didn't understand a lot or at least haven't read the full thread .

Lots of people here are getting few thousands baht LESS every month because of brexit.
You can't argue with them, they will always say brexit has been sh*t.
As simple as that.

The City's smartest people are being forced to admit they were wrong about a 'Brecession'
a lot of BS has been said about brexit...

Thanks for the replies guys!
Well, it makes sense. I fully understand if they are doing this to prevent criminals and illegal workers from living here. I actually admire Thailand for protecting their borders (unlike Sweden and the rest of Europe. lol).
I just wish that they could make exceptions for honest and law abiding people like me.. But of course, there is no easy way for them to know who's good and who's not. .. This time they took my words for it. But I guess my luck will run out sooner or later..
Tim: This happened at Don Muang.Thank you for your input.
It's not clear if you had a visa or just a visa exempt entry (30 days)?

The European Union is a financial dictatorship, great that UK could get out of it (well, not yet), I wish more and more countries will follow.

Can other nationalities get a METV from Vientiane?
No. You need to apply in your own residence country.

Went to CM once, never again. Took me 30 mins to look around old town. Diced with death every time I tried to cross a road. Boring and expensive girly bars with ugly and unfriendly girlies. Same sort of markets you get anywhere in Thailand. Expensive second hand book shops. Expensive everything else. Expensive/dodgy taxis and no baht buses. No cooling breeze. Smog bound. Too far from Suvarnabhumi. No beaches. Horrendous immigration office according to reports. Unfriendly expats. Kissed the ground when I arrived back in Pattaya.
Apart from that it was ok.
Wow, I've never been to Pattaya but know CM very well. If you find CM expensive place, I cannot imagine how cheap Pattaya is!!!

As far as people not being able to stay for years on Ed visas ... well, they are and do exactly that. The only change is that it is a bit more expensive now, due to tuition increases to cover the extra hours required, one must change subjects/languages more frequently, and one must pay a 'fee' 3 times per year to have an extension approved regardless of attendance.
I use Tourist Visas, but if I were on the ED, I'd be afraid to try those extensions without paying the extra fee, even though I most certainly would attend the classes I was paying for. Not paying extras means someone is not happy about not receiving them, and I don't need enemies in the system. I perceive issues regarding the acceptance of Tourist Visas at the border, new questioning, etc to be nothing more than pressure to push people into visas which involve 'extra fees' - like the ED.
Excuse me, what is this "fee" "extra fee" you are talking about? Is it bribe money, agency fee? The school is paying it for you? You pay it at immigration? I'm asking because I'd be interested in studying thai and get an ED visa.
Thank you

Spain isn't a G7 country.

Thailand has so many tourists that Government really don't care, number of tourists (or at least the total amount of money they are making from) won't go down. They're actually going to make more money.
Same with visa restrictions.

Plenty of english teachers working on a tourist visa.

"So I've been in Chiang Mai since october of last year and have done 3 visa runs to laos since then. My next visa run ..."
3 consecutive visa run to maybe Vientiane? And planning for a 4th?
-
I did it 2 times, it shouldn't be very risky, depends also what time you get your visa, how much you are willing to pay for the many different transfers, if you want to wait for other people to share the minivan or the taxi, if it's high/low season.
I'd do it again. It can be risky if you are short on money, if you get your visa at the very end, if there's a special event in the city (traffic jam).

Problem is that in some countries (like mine, G7) the Thai Embassy/Consulate won't give you a SETV if you don't show a return or onword ticket.

I'm no troll, and am serious about my post, with regret.
Am only trying to understand the best way for me to deal with it, and take all this beautiful country can offer me.
I've got a heart with deep feelings, am not a superficial person, and always try to understand what is around me.

All they want, in this country, is our money.
Have lived 3 months here, and this is my general impression.

Hello guys,
could you please advise on the best way to activate my second entry?
I will be leaving from Chiang Rai, my thai lady has got a car.
What's the best thing to do? Mae Sai (if I remember correctly) and then Myanmar right?
I've heard it's best to park the car in Thailand and cross the border walking?
Heard of huge harrasment from tourist guides crossing the border?
Is it worth to stop for a night somewhere in Myanmar near the border?
Any tips for me please?
Cheers

Does this apply for the 30 days visa exempt entry only?
I've got a METV and going to Mae Sai this week to do a border out/in and get my 60 days.
Should I better have all the three requirements (20k baht - proof of address - onward ticket)?
I already have the first two with me but I thought the onward ticket was not necessary.
Someone please advice, thanks.
