Travel Rising Prices, Broken Systems Dim Thailand’s Tourist Charm
Naamblar2014 replied to snoop1130's topic in Thailand News
There's a huge inflow from India which I feel has diminished the serene beauty and atmosphere. Massive immigration from India actually happening in most countries and the general consensus is it impacts negatively, causing housing shortages and increasing the strain on healthcare and causing rising cost of living. Not sure why but it's a common worldwide phenomenon. -

ride-hailing apps affecting traditional drivers because traditional drivers will sit on their rank for hours eating and drinking with no customers while the ride hail app drivers are working their asses off non stop cleaning up. These traditional drivers are greedy often charging double what the ride hail app charges. I remember wanting to go from one location to my home and you could not get anyone interested for less than 500 baht on a motorcycle. That was over 5 years ago, but now I can get a bolt (car) to take me for 166 baht for a 25 minute trip and Bolt took out of that a 20 baht booking fee. Another example Ride hail Soi arunotai to terminal 21 38 baht but win soi arunothai to Pattaya nua bus, probably shorter trip 100 baht. The traditional drivers who refuses to use ride hail app are dinosaurs.

Foreign Man Allegedly Damages Salon in Pattaya
Naamblar2014 replied to webfact's topic in Pattaya News
A lot of posts here blaming the victim. The Thais are the ones conducting affairs that are In no way Ethical. There should be a recourse through the Police from these bar tramp scammers, but the police do nothing and this often results in frustration and anger. It's actually lucky it was a foreigner (only a few items knocked over) because if it was a Thai scammed the result would likely end in gun violence and bloodshed which we have all become accustomed to. Time the police step up and start investigating this fraud. Otherwise this will continue with ever increasing and dire consequences -

Thailand : hub of snubs ???? -
Law enforcement is indeed a joke. I just went to police station to report my car stolen. In my name, purchased before marriage, but police came to the conclusion that wife sold car and under Thai law I cannot have her arrested. So I asked if I burn down the house then I cannot be arrested because husband wife right.
