  1. And who is surprised by this? No wonder, with most people having been vaccinated with Sinovac. According to the Bangkok Post, the antibodies produced from that vaccine half every 40 days.
  2. A friend of mine was told by Bangkok Hospital staff in Udon Thani that Moderna will be available from May 2022...
  3. While at the same time, around 300 falang got vaccinated with Pfizer in Udon Thani last Wednesday, complete separate from the expatvac or any other system, amazingly.
  4. Sorry, thanks US government and US tax payer (I am not American)?
  5. "Up here", Thais over 60 get AstraZeneca too, by the way. I don't think it has anything to do with being Thai or not!
  6. Your post sounds a tad bit racist to me. First of all, it is not true that 'foreigners all around me can', whether you are in the 'center' of a large city or not. 360,000 foreigners have been vaccinated so far. half being Burmese (see yesterday's news). At the same time, over 9 Mio Thais have been vaccinated (at least one shot so far). And I am sure you are aware that the stipulation of the very generous gift by the kind people of the USA states that 10% of the 1.5 Mio Pfizer doses have to go to foreigner living in Thailand. Which means 1.35 Mio go to Thai Nationals. And I find it very sad that there seems to be a need for such a stipulation!
  7. Yip, got the same email, like many others, quite sure. A friend called them in BKK, apparently there are problems on their site, one cannot register again. Were told to try again in a couple of days time. i now registered via thailandintervac and have an appointment in KK on September 12 (Pfizer). Why there cannot be just one website for everybody (Thais and foreigners), I will never know...
  8. Curious to hear whether anyone actually got an appointment to get Pfizer via the expatvac site (and the shot!)? Initially, there was a discussion that appointments would be rolled out after August 10? Surely, 150,000 'reserved' doses cannot just disappear, even in Thailand?
  9. Yes, like brother and sister last week picking up sick coughing father in BKK, bringing him home to Isaan. And banning him to the hut in the rice field. While they happily walk around everywhere, including the Sunday market. Surely not an isolated case?
  10. I had a similar kind of experience a few weeks ago, also in Isaan (no debt involved though). A woman (whom I had never seen before, she spoke some English) arrived at my gate with a policeman, claiming that my dogs damaged her sister's car. And that she had pictures of my dogs, being on her sister's property. Sister's house is two properties over, but she felt she had to accuse the me first. I just laughed and told her that it would be physically impossible for my dogs to damage anyone's property in any way as they were always INSIDE my property (day and night). She of course did not believe me. I requested to see the pictures of my dogs, but funny enough, there were none. I called a Thai friend to explain the situation to her. Suddenly, she was no longer accusing me but saying that they were 'investigating'. And that next, they would check the property next to her sister's house (where there are many dogs, always outside the property). I also told her that there were many street dogs in our area and that my two neighbors had dogs too, which seemed to surprise her. The moral of the story? Many people seem to try to make a quick and easy buck!
