Yes, and a very under performing one as I couldn't help to notice.
So why would anyone like to use it?

Trump has presided over a mass murder of sorts. His total lack of leadership, his refusal to be accountable, his total indifference to the devastation caused by the virus, his encouragements to ignore the recommendations of doctors and scientists , all of these make him a prime suspect in this crime. To think that 70,000.000 morons voted for him boggles the mind,
As much as I despise Trump and the monkeys voting for him: your claim is just wrong.
Murder needs intention. All you can claim is negligence and this is hardly a felony for a government. And I even do not see negligence, simply because he ran a strategy ("save the economy") which was just different from the other strategy ("save the elderly people").
People voted for Trump in 2016, they got exactly what they asked for. I actually wished, that the 70+ Mill. voting for him again shall stick with him much longer.

You chose the ice- cream train, stops at every station.
In contrast, the long distance overnight sleepers are excellent value for money. Usually punctual, the trains depart in the early evening. With a comfortable bed, one arrives early the next morning, hundreds of kilometres away, refreshed and ready for the world.
Unfortunately, I can't confirm that. Did Bangkok/Udon Thani once and it was a hell of a ride. Very very slow train and too bumpy to close an eye. (As frequent flyer I can sleep almost everywhere and am gone before the plane lifts off, but that was really bumpy and loud.)
Also, you must be a short person to fit into the bed. Normal sized man (185cm or more) won't fit into the bed and I am quite tall.
Although it was beautiful to be up 5 am in the morning when the train inched its way through Isaan and the rice paddy fields. Amazing atmosphere. But no good coffee and only the normal styrofoam box food (although I bought the best ticket available). 600THB if I remember. You can make it with a bus for the same money in only 7 hours or so.
Long story short: I would have love to experience the orient express but I got quite disappointed and would never do that again until they come up with a real luxury offer. Pay 6k THB for a private Taxi ride BKK-UTH gives you more sightseeing and more fun and you also arrive faster.

Frank,
as I wrote before: it is actually believable, but nobody dares to draw the conclusion from it. If 70 Mill. people prefer to vote for a toxic clown in order to tear down a democracy instead of contributing to the development of the nation and the people, then this nation is doomed. Hating to live in the basement, they'd rather burn down the whole house.
How to run and to govern a democracy - an organization which depends on informed decision - with people like that?
Russia and China must laugh their asses off these days.

These subscribers to conspiracy theories live in an hermetic world. It's worse today because with so much information out there it's easy to find the dots that confirm your belief and ignore all the others. Probably lots of them are Qanon followers. They believe that there will be massive trials involving members of the Deep State who conspired against Trump. They did believe that Trump was going to have a landslide victory. You'd think that his loss would shake their faith. But there was a case study done once of a sect that believed the world was coming to an end on a specific date. That day came and went. The world went on. So you would expect that they would give up their belief. Not so. They actually doubled down on it. The psychological phenomenon whose name was coined to explain it is "cognitive dissonance". The same will happen here. Trump's loss will just reinforce their belief in conspiracies and the Deep State.
I reckon and agree. But what does that mean for a democracy?
In ancient times, the right to vote was earned by the ability to contribute to the defence of the state. Thus only, wealthy and educated people were part of the democracy.
I do believe, that democracy is the most desirable form of government and I also believe, that each woman and man deserve a vote and that the total of all votes will give the most preferable outcome. However, this opinion was always based on the hope to deal with matured, reasonable individuals -- everyone contributing to their best ability.
So how does this continuous toxic trolling fit into that? And what is the solution? Let's face it: Dems won clearly, but not by a landslide. There are 70 Mill. people out there, who voted for Trump, after having seen him in action for 4 years!
Please do not get me wrong: I am market liberal, with a slope to the right wing. I have no problems with Republican Votes per se. But a country cheering the chimps simply scares me.
Sorry for Off Topic.

True, we do not read from Chicken Bones or Shades in the Mist, nor Coffee stains on the bottom of the cup.
Despite the claims, that is not an entirely new phenomenon. But similar to the medieval ages, there are folks shouting heresy and blasphemy, when educated people debate evidence.

A lawsuit says nothing. You can sue the world for being flat, if you want and have the money for it. Thank we live in a free world where even mad people are free to claim what they want. And I support that as long as it does not pose a threat for anyone and harms the future generations.

If that is your idea of honesty, you need a refresher course. The MSM does hold opinions, but the fact is their reporting includesding an overwhelming amount of facts. Their opinions of Trump they manage to keep separate from their statement of facts. The rumors supported by such bizarre outlets as OANN, are repeatedly debunked but to no avail. As I pointed out before, Trump's lawyers in Pennsylvania asserted that Republican observers were denied entry to observe, but ended up admitting that a "non-zero" number did observe. 12 suits brought by Trump's lawyers have already been summarily dismissed. I don't care what kind of attitude accompanies these fact. They can't be dismissed by a rational thinker.
Here's a link to a buzfeed list of allegations mostly supported by Trump partisans.
https://www.buzzfeednews.com/article/janelytvynenko/election-rumors-debunked
The sad thing is that even though people such as yourself call on these investigation to clear the air and see if there really is something to the allegations, as long as Trump continues to assert he was cheated, the odds are overwhelming that so will you and the rest of his followers. No proof is ever good enough for the conspiracy-minded.
Well said, I tip my head. Good and balanced summary, free of partisanship.

I am actually aware of it: there was a public vote with observes from both parties overseeing the count. The outcome was very clear. Various national and international observers have confirmed, that they did not see any material or relevant irregularities. Even Republican Senators and Vote Observers. Furthermore, only one single Rumplestilzchen throws tantrums and behaves mad without producing any evidence.

You can't take what happened in the past and project the same results indefinitely, or even short term, into the future. If that's you're only argument, a logically flawed one, then I can explain it to you but I can't understand it for you.
While I reckon, that your kin will always be there (did you know that approx. 15% of the population is so dumb with an IQ below 80 that even the army won't recruit them as cannon fodder because they are too dangerous for the own troops), I do look forward to the day, when matured sane people, able to counsel and negotiate will have the lead again.
While Biden certainly is too old for the job and while it is sad that a country of the US has to fall back to an almost 80 years old man (which is not Biden's fault, I admire him for his life time achievements), it was so nice to listen to his speeches and to hear the calm, assuring and insightful sound of reason (instead of rabid barking).

I second that, well said. Although I think, at this point, when there is no merit in any of these options, it does more harm than good to the country. I am not even taking sides here, it does not matter WHO won. But it matters that someone has won obviously, both the electorate and also the public vote. Time to move on and get to work. US and the world is facing serious challenges.

Was about one single state of Florida only with a very marginal difference, which indeed could have flipped one way or the other.
Biden is ahead by 4 States with at least 10k votes ahead in each state. He could lose 2 states (even 3 depending on the combination) and still have won the election.
I am far away to believe, that Biden will solve all problems. But people, please get a grasp. Your reaction gets more and more rabid by the hour. Like 3 year old children covering the eyes and the ears and truly believe, they are invisible.
It actually scares me, that after all this behaviour, there are still large amounts of people -- beyond the usual 10% of nutters -- supporting this drama. This is not a matter of sides or Dems vs Reps. It is a matter of being accountable, reliable and able to run a business or a negotiation.

Very understandable! Trump made look the US so much more like Nigeria within just 4 years:
- Public election? Barricade yourself at home for two weeks because of the (expected) street violence.
- "Do what I tell, not what I do" government without any accountability.
- Tribal conflict
- Police can shoot you in the back (preferably at night) with impunity
Only difference is: In Nigeria I am still able to collect my risk premium. What a time to be alive!

Sir, I wish you from all my heart that you will get exactly what you have asked for. Although I hope that you and your kind will also have to take the full responsibility for the outcome and will be hold accountable.
And make no mistake please: While I do not agree with the Brexit decision and was honestly shocked by the vote, I genuinely believe, that now ,after these 4 years, your BREXIT must be done. It would be impossible to heal the wounds on both sides before reckoning and assessment and taking responsibility.
My own prediction is: in 10-15 years from now, whatever is left of the UK will become the EUs finest and keenest although smallest member.
I wish you good luck! In the meantime you 60 mill. aging seniors, enjoy negotiating with India (1.2 bn. plus people) , China (1.5+ bn.), Indonesia (260+ mill.), Nigeria (210+ mill.), Brasil, Pakistan. Am sure, they just waited all the time long and will buy from you simply because they like the English so much and do not want to buy it from the EU, the Chinese or the US.
Cheers.

Anyway, glad I am not there at the moment and was able to come back to Thailand before the Lockdown started.
Lucky you. This <deleted> is unpleasant, especially as Lekki was considered the safest area here in Lagos.
Also the supply situation is not easy now because all supermarkets were looted and shut down. No cash in the ATMs. And still a lot of "boys" on the road.

As China lets-up on travel restrictions Africa will get crushed by covid-19 infections. Their only hope is if a treatment and/or a vaccine gets fast-tracked.
I beg to differ. I live half of the year in Lagos since 10 years and just arrived from Bangkok yesterday, 1 days before the borders got closed. I was here when Ebola spread. I was in Thailand when there was SARS and H1N1 Avian Flue.
This continent is indestructible, simply because it has nothing to lose. People here die daily in troves from various diseases, bad pollution and hazardous food. A few more won't matter.
Average life expectancy in Nigeria is just 50 years. Covid-19 deaths of Italy have shown an average age of 80 years (with preconditions), an age we simply do not achieve here!
In my opinion the crisis in Europe is a crisis of wealth and welfare: Old people with serious pre-conditions die from it, which is very sad and regrettable. And Europe can afford to shutdown the country for all people in order to safe and protect these elderly people at any cost. Nobody in Europe wants to come out and explain the truth: That around 1 Mill. in each country is going to die and that the measure will only delay the inevitable (unless you believe that a cure will be found within 6 month or less). We still we see how this strategy will work out.
Here in Africa, they just will let go and move on because they are in survival mode since decades.
All the best!

Kinda silly to have to do, but it would be even sillier to go all the way to Saigon, only to be told, sorry, can't issue you a Non O because you still have a valid extension.
I can only advise against that!
You get a Non-O Visa based on marriage in Savannaketh up to 4 weeks before the other visa expires! If you really want to max it out, spend the 2 days in Laos or Vietnam but not overstay. Overstaying is not the right thing to do and it can put you in trouble, when any other problem arises on top. Low odds, but big impact when bad luck strikes.
(2 years ago I got my Non-O in Laos even 6 weeks before expiry. I have been asked for the reason and told them that I would have to travel for work and would not be back in time. They were satisfied and accepted without any hassle.)

I can not prove or deny, if I would have gotten the Visa without it.
I can only elaborate, that I felt it was always helpful because they studied it longer than any other document and also the guys around me without it got problems. My international marriage certificate is in English.
The document is easy to obtain so of course I would always advise to heave it ready, even when it is not listed as a requirement.

Howdy,
as far as I understand it, at Savannaketh you will get promptly a 1 year Multiple Entry Non-Imm O (based on marriage) without any financial proof.
Wife does not nee to join you, but they will see a Kor Ror 2/22 (at least they checked mine 2 weeks ago).

my wife doesn't seem to know anything about it and says I shouldn't need it. Not sure it was issued as I was married back in April 2003. Don't want to go all that way for nothing. Hopefully can get some document somewhere.
As far as I understand it, all depends WHERE you have been married. When married in Thailand, you should have gotten it and also you will get a Kor Ror 2. If married outside of Thailand, you have not gotten it and will get a Kor Ror 22 instead when registering your marriage at the Amphur.
Cheers.

Also wasn't going to get a kor ror 2 but people here seem to take one here. All info. welcomed, It's a long trip and don't want to be turned away. Thanks.
All I can say is: the last 2 times they verified the Kor Ror 22 intensively and also the original marriage certificate. They did not even look on the other papers, just counted through. Never asked a question.
2 years ago, I even managed to get a visa without the original marriage certificate, but my girlfriend, who was with me, had to intervene.
Can't recall last year's details, but last week the guy in front of me and the guy after me had no Kor Ror 2 or 22 and both have been asked for that name change cert. They had all other papers ready and were genuine.
So my take is: this Kor Ror 2/22 is useful and also you will get it at your Amphor within a few minutes without any hassle. My wife got new Kor Ror 22 in my absence. Attention: they stamp it with the date, using Thai digits. So at the first sight you would think, it has no Date/Valid stamp, but in fact IO will see if it is recent and you are advised to bring a recent one.
The 2 guys mentioned above sorted their problem by calling their wives, who send them the documents per fax/E-Mail. There are helpful shops in front of the embassy, on the other side of the road. Both were in the queue the next day picking up their passports.
Cheers and good luck.

To the gents, who have been asked for that Certificate: What is the name shown in the blue housebook? Husband's family name or wife's maiden name?
In my case it's husband's family name because we built the house only after the marriage and got a new housebook after.
Cheers.

Scotland's Sturgeon puts UK on independence warning: We want a referendum soon
in World News
Posted
It would be in the UK's best interest (e.g. USA's GDP has a relative advantage of 1-2% from the dollar hegemony), but not in Scottish interest at all. They would need their own currency first and allow a true price finding for a couple of years before joining the EU (or we would risk to repeat a 'Greece' alike story).
However you turn it, UK is fokked. I do not ever discuss the political view anymore, just watch what the FX markets made out of that fiasco.
