  1. Thanks for the replies. I'm 34 years old and would love to live in thailand at some point, it's obvious possible because lots of westerners are doing so already but for me at the moment it's not possible due to commitments in the UK so my thoughts were to buy a condo and be out there on a regular basis. But I didn't know what the deal was if later on I decide I want to live in Los full time in the condo I would buy. Thanks

Not sure about bringing the machine into the country. Perhaps do some research on the customs website here: http://en.customs.go.th/index.php?lang=en&top_menu=menu_homepage

To legally work you need a work permit. But what is done in a private setting probably would never be noticed.

Yeah I was kind of thinking about that but worried about the equipment getting confiscated I'll have a look at the link thank you

  3. Hi

I'm self employed and wondering if it's possible for me to work for 2 or 3 days on my trips to Thailand. I visit 2 times a year at the moment  (would like it to be more) and I'm wondering how it would work out for me if i was to bring a tattoo machine and needles through customs. I understand the complications of owning a business in thailand but I'm not doing that. I have a business in uk and would just like to work on a couple of clients in thailand during my visits. Thanks in advance ?

  4. I was going off the billboards and some online. I know that price is a starting from price but I don't necessarily need a large place as I usually stay in hotels anyway. But I could always look for something a bit more expensive and larger. I wonder if it could be a good idea to share ownership with another 'farang' as I wouldn't be living there

  5. Hi everyone.

I was in Thailand a week ago and my friend said to me why don't I buy a condo as I visit Thailand quite a lot. I didn't take much notice at the time after seeing the prices starting at 1 million baht as i just assumed it was expensive but after working it out I see its only 20k GBP and up which is ridiculously cheap by western standards.

My question is, how easy is it to buy a condo in Thailand? Can I simply go there with my payment ready and buy (using a solicitor) or is it hard work full of scams?

I would like somewhere in or near pattaya where I could call home and visit regular when I travel to Thailand.

Also I would probably buy a used condo rather than brand new.

If I was to buy would it be safe to leave it empty for the time I'm not in Thailand? Also how safe would my investment be? I may decide to rent it out in the future.

    Thanks in advance

  6. Hi

I'm want to leave pattaya today and was going to phuket but my friend mentioned koh samet as a place he visits. I just wondered if anyone else has been and is it worth while. Nice beaches etc? Night life? Also any advice on best way to get there would be appreciated.

And is it worth visiting rayong for a night or more on the way? I have no idea what's there.

    Thanks

  7. I didnt know i Could rent a car with a driver ( apart from taxis of course) but im very spontaneous and i wonder if a driver would get annoyed lol i like the freedom. Last year i rented a bike but let my thai mate ride me about which was good. I wouldn't even bother driving in bkk during busy periods same as i wouldn't take a taxi car I'd just sit in traffic all day. But i do want to explore isaan without just getting off a plane/bus and being stuck in the 1 area so yes maybe i could hire a car in isaan.

Can anyone tell me what its like in isaan compared to bkk pattaya etc? I was thinking to drive up to Laos and maybe cross the border. Wouldn't mind just getting lost for a few days aha

  8. Hi everyone

Im thinking of hiring a car in BKK this april to explore and maybe drive down to hua hin to visit my friends family. I know bkk is crazy for traffic but i probably wouldn't go out until evening time when it calms a bit.

My main question is... is it a good idea for me to drive to hua hin or just get a bus?

I want to explore isaan also and was thinking i could use the car for that also.

I hired a motorbike last year and even though i didn't go very far it was still much better having the freedom to explore and go where i wanted to.

Also what are the traffic regulations like? Fines points etc anything to worry about?

    Thanks

  9. It seems like most people are comparing 1st or business classes ive only ever flown economy lol maybe one day I'll get the chance to go 1st class but i just think to myself save the money id rather spend it on having a good time in Thailand. But my main query was about the airline themselves which has been more than answered. I feel safe to know eva are a good airways it was just that i had never heard of them before
