Can a 30 day overstay be cleared by doing a border run? (Not myself)
Requirements, except the 15,000 baht fee?
Which borders to be recommended near Bangkok?
Thanks in advance.

Thanks for answer ubonjoe.

One of my friends, who is from Kenya, is wondering whether there are some restrictions in place at borders for Kenyans. And which border/country is the most friendly to Kenyans; Myanmar, Cambodia, or Laos.
I told her that I was only aware of Ugandans treated differently at immigration, not getting 30 days extensions on tourist visas, but instead only seven days. But that I have never heard of Kenyans being given a hard time at borders, except for a bit of questioning, perhaps.

Greetings everyone.
Let's say that my 90 day report is due next Friday, 15th of June. If I go to immigration on that date, in person, I will get stamped until the 15th of September, give or take a day.
But what about the online reporting? Since I will be doing it no later than a week before due date (maybe this coming Friday on the 8th), what will they stamp on the slip?
15th of September, or 8th of September?

My friend, who is from Uganda, called me right now, he is at Immigration Chaeng Wattana. He said that they are going to give him only 7 days because of his nationality. Is this true? (Multiple Entries Tourist Visa, expiring in June.)

Deputy director-general Nanthapong Cherdchu said a sting operation on Monday in Bangkok had led to 18 Uber drivers being nabbed and each was fined Bt2,000.
He said the agency must try to make Thais understand that the use of Uber was illegal and if any accident happened, a customer would receive less protection under the law.

I live in Samut Prakan, work in Bangkok. I have for years been doing my yearly extensions in Bangkok (Chaeng Wattana), so in some cases no, it doesn't have to be where you live.

From a Thai English language newspaper which I cannot name, it was reported that the lese majeste part was told off the record. The clip is posted on a Facebook page.
Jeez, I would love to know what Thaksin said that has got this lot running around like headless chickens!!
I watched the interview and basically what he said was (paraphrasing here) was that he wasn't impressed with the performance of the Junta over the last year and thought they were slow at doing tasks. Then he said that he feared his sister would not get a fair trial.. That was it.

I work in Bangkok but live in Samut Prakan. Is it possible for me to go to the immigration office in Pak Nam (Samut Prakan) to transfer relevant information to my new passport? (Passport was issued in Sweden, and I already have the required document for transfer from my embassy).
The last extension was obtained at Chaeng Wattana, but it would be very nice to be able to go to Pak Nam instead. They want proof of residence in Samut Prakan when I am there doing my 90 day report or requesting re-entry permits. I will then show them my work permit, utility bills are not accepted though.
Will I have any problems showing up at this office for the stamp transfer?

I got my KrungSri platinum credit card the other week, replacing my old gold card.
It would be very interesting to know if this gives me free lounge access at Suvarnabhumi (not interested in King Power).
PS. If smileplur is reading this: you never reported back which you said you would do (in April).

I haven't done this yet, just arrived in Thailand a few days ago.
I just wanted to ask one more question: someone told me that the visit to C.W. immigration, to transfer the stamp, must be done in person. So I can't send someone to do this for me then?
-
Thanks guys. I guess I'll have to visit my embassy then.
-
If I have a new passport, which has been obtained abroad (Sweden), what do I have to do once I arrive in Thailand? Do I have to do anything in particular at Suvarnabhumi, except presenting my two passports to the immigration officer?
And then, I know I have to transfer the stamp/s in my old passport to my new passport (I am on a one year extension), so what are the procedures at immigration at Chaeng Wattana?
And regarding passports issued while being abroad: do I need to have a letter from my embassy, requesting to have stamps moved to my new passport?
Sorry if this has been covered elsewhere.

I made an honest mistake: I've always thought it was 200 baht per day, with a maximum of 5000 baht for failure to do the 90 day report (compared to 500 baht per day, with a maximum of 20,000 baht for overstay).
Therefore, I stand corrected. But I have never heard of anyone being forced to pay 5000 baht PLUS x days times 200 baht. Maybe it is never being enforced?
However, re: notification, I do know that it is 15 days before, not 7. I made a mistake to quote the wrong information.

@ swissie:
Maximum fine for failure to do the 90 day report is 5000 baht. There is NO additional fine of 200 baht per day.
Taken from thaivisa.com/forum/topic/611007-if-90-day-report-late-get-red-stamp-or-anything/page-2
"the time window is one week before and one week after the day 90 days ends. After that the fine is of 2000 baht if you go to an immigration office to report it, and 5000 bahts if an officer check your passport and your 90 days report is over. There's not any additional daily fine"

I have heard that people living in Bangkok cannot send in the 90 day report by mail, but must visit the immigration office in person. Would like to know if this is true.

I haven't been on any border runs since it reduced to 15 days, but isn't the regular Cambodian Visa (not the E-visa) one month multi-entry? If so, then presumably the bus companies only charge half price for your second 15 day run as you already have your visa?
Looking for Cambodian stamps in my passport, I see that all of them are single entries. No one has ever offered me a "multiple entries, one month tourist visa". Not even a double entries!
If the price for one double entries visa would be cheaper (if they even have such a visa), compared to two single entry visas, that would of course be interesting.

Yes it is an old thread. Still, the prediction about the future was wrong.
And Britmaverick just mentioned aircon taxis, not necessarily that they must have meters.
(They do, in fact, but they don't turn them on.)
-
No worries you won't be seeing aircon taxi(s) in Pattaya in this life.
I have, for a long time already, seen taxi meters in Pattaya, and they were NOT from Bangkok. They were blue and yellow, I think.
And surely I'm not in next life. Not yet.

It's a consulate, not an embassy.

Can you stop advertise your company (Jack Golf) here, please?

Small amount of money, but Carrefour should anyway have given the OP the bananas for free because of this policy:
Carrefour has a store policy that if the price is incorrect on the bill you get the item for free. It's posted on the wall at the Customer Service Point in English and Thai.
