  1. I haven't been on any border runs since it reduced to 15 days, but isn't the regular Cambodian Visa (not the E-visa) one month multi-entry? If so, then presumably the bus companies only charge half price for your second 15 day run as you already have your visa?

Looking for Cambodian stamps in my passport, I see that all of them are single entries. No one has ever offered me a "multiple entries, one month tourist visa". Not even a double entries!

If the price for one double entries visa would be cheaper (if they even have such a visa), compared to two single entry visas, that would of course be interesting.

  2. No worries you won't be seeing aircon taxi(s) in Pattaya in this life. :o

I have, for a long time already, seen taxi meters in Pattaya, and they were NOT from Bangkok. They were blue and yellow, I think.

And surely I'm not in next life. Not yet.

  3. Small amount of money, but Carrefour should anyway have given the OP the bananas for free because of this policy:

Carrefour has a store policy that if the price is incorrect on the bill you get the item for free. It's posted on the wall at the Customer Service Point in English and Thai.

  4. If you think the food court is bad, try heading over to the S&P joint. They advertise a 100 baht fish for dinner and then bring the 600 baht tab to the table and make a claim that the fish is 100 baht per kilo, not 100 baht per serving. A real marketing mess. I will never eat at the S&P again. A terrible rip off!!

But at least you could eat SIX KILOGRAMS of fish for just 600 baht! Is that a rip off?

Are you sure you didn't mean "100 baht per 100 GRAMS"?

100 grams is a quite common weight in Thailand, they call it "keet". "Neung keet" is 100 grams.

  5. I'm glad to hear that they accepted 20 US + 100 Baht, especially since the US Dollar is so cheap now.

Still, e-Visa might be a good option since the visa you get on arrival will take up a full passport page, but the e-Visa will not.

Forgot to mention something in my last post (April 6): I commented on a post re: total visa cost, and I guess this was just for visa processing at the border; 2000 Baht EXCLUDING transportation. Am I right?

If there are a lot of people at the border it might be a good idea to pay some money to some guy to get it faster done, otherwise not.

And DON'T pay anything to the Cambodian immigration official when you stamp out of Cambodia.

  6. You get a Visa that is valid for 5 years, After it expires or you get a new passport etc, you get ANOTHER 5 year visa for free and this happens until you either die or they scrap the scheme which is very unlikely.

With the Visa yes you do get a 90 day stamp and every 90 days you do have to go and get a new 90 stamp and do your usual 90 day reporting BUT you do this in Thailand, You don't have to leave and it takes 30 mins every 90 days.

Do I have to pay for this new stamp every 90 days?

If not, Elite Card is certainly a good deal. If yes, well, it's of course a bad deal then.

  7. When I paid for the licence I fished out a 1000 baht note and when the 500 baht change was offered the notes were spread like a fan, the implication obvious. I left behind one of the 100 baht notes.
That was a bit excessive! The one year licence is 105 baht!

I would like to know the REAL price.

    Is it 500 or 105??

  8. I remember that they did this a few years ago but I was really surprised to hear that they have resumed this questionable service.

Using web.archive.org and jack total golf´s url, this is what I found:

    http://web.archive.org/web/*/http://www.jackgolf.com

Do you need to extend your passport to stay more in Thailand?

Are you worry about going outside Thailand to get only a stamp in your passport?

Now, We care about your passport.

You can extend easily in a day via "Daily Cambodia Visa Tour".

If you don't have time, just bring to us to get a Malaysia Visa.

    The second hit of 2003:

    Malyasia Visa

If you don't have a time to go to Cambodia, here is another way to extend your passport.

Just bring your passport to us.

After 4 day, you've got a 100% legal stamp in your passport.

Hurry up to watch these pages, since I don´t know if one is able (Jack Golf, that is) to request that they should be removed.

  9. the idea of starting to learn and READ Thai at the same time, and not using any nonsense-transliteration is actually good.

too bad that no other decent language school than this one seems to do it the same way....

and I dont need a 1-year-ED-Visa (at least not before March 2009) as I do have a new one..... so my main issue is REALLY learning Thai.....

    I second that.

  10. I used to have a triple tourist visa, quite recently. (Now I'm on a non imm.) The correct answer is:

They write a number, for example 1, in a circle when one entry is used. Next to that is the date for entry stamped.

When the visa is completely used up, THEN the stamp "Used" will appear, NOT before that.

    Conclusion:

They made a mistake in your case, you should have this rectified a.s.a.p.
