You obviously don't understand what Iran has been up to for a decade+......know your history 1st, then argue.
  2. The plane will probably end up as a hostage. Honestly though if there are Thai citizens there who should've, would've, could've or didn't make it out, it's a good call.
  3. If you know the rules ( or people in certain positions), you can live here comfortably, without drama and have a simple life. A lot of people come here with bad intentions so the rules keep getting more stringent for the good guys. Sad but true. It also helps to have a good Thai woman with you. It matters. At the end of the day however, it's up to Thai Immigration and I think most of us experienced a HUGE change when Covid hit. Immigration offices were once full of happy smiling women but became a hang out for bored Thai Military men who couldn't give a #$ck about foreigners. If you managed to finagled your way through that, much love. It's a great place to retire but just beware that the rules/laws can change at ANY time. They don't care if you have $$$$ or a family. Now mind you, they'll change it back eventually. Nothing stays the same here except sticky rice and ?????????
  4. This is great news. 19 out of 19 is awesome but we all know the real # of people in this country with this type of cancer is much much larger. Knowing this, the government should offer discount or free screenings to help all of those we know have pre existing issues. At least in my area, there isn't a push locally (at all) to help or advise people to get checked. Lao khao isn't a joke and too many men (and women) drink daily until death unfortunately. Seen it happen. The country just isn't willing to invest in their own people, especially men. Their hands are elsewhere....but it's the same across the globe. I take that back. Some smaller villages, etc. do try to help though. KUDOS to this hospital and I hope they can teach other hospitals their MOO and procedures that led to such a great success rate.
  5. Everyone has something to say but the real answer is know what your getting yourself into. It's Thailand. Keep good people around you and you should be ok. If not, then good luck.
  6. Unfortunately, they are setting a precedent. Police were already use to shooting minorities but now "they" can shoot anyone....they've been given the green light. What could possibly go wrong? Oh.....more dead people. WTF.
  7. I use WISE too but they change at the drop of a hat so don't get use to anything. Be cognizant of their changes and adapt accordingly. The entire financial system is tightening up. Behind the scenes however, they cater to very expensive transfers...but don't tell anyone.
  8. If you add anything to the shopping cart for ANY app, they will always offer you discounts and they are real discounts. I order cheap crap that's actually turned out to be decent from Laz and TEMU and they always give discounts on the app. Lazada never did until the last 6 months...basically copying them. Buy through the app. The service is good enough but I do C.O.D. on any qualifying items that are available. If you are friends with your delivery driver, he'll let you open the package to make sure it's what you ordered.
  9. There's a reason why it docked there and not "here"....they could've literally docked anywhere in Thailand but after Thailand ( as usual ) hasn't done anything of importance in this region for decades, their relationship with the U.S. is really odd. I mean how can you give the past election to someone other than who the populous voted for...yeah, I know...the kettle is black..BUT people actually voted for Trump, 5555. Thailand has no military influence at all in this region, other than som tam and several Buddha statues near the borders with .... Cambodia on the other hand.....well they have no influence either, 5555. They just don't have many expectations and probably charged less to dock so the U.S. was eagerly waiting to cruise into port. We love Thailand as why most of us are here but they will always remain stuck in their own heads. When you look up " Stubborn" in the dictionary, it should only include a photo of Thailand. Oh and a photo of China...their secret closest BOSS! I only wish I could submit my retirement documents without given the evil eye (never been denied). For those that have been here a long time, things use to be great. You could actually watch TV in the immigration office without male officers trying to berate you in thai language (even when you understand what they are saying) and women who would greet you and treat you with kindness. I miss that Thailand. Optimistic about the new election but what could go wrong, 55555. Good day to everyone. Boring read. Up way too early. Coffee is on me gents.
  10. Don't disagree with you but again, I said IF you know the history of the country. I'm sure you can figure out what the word "shady" implies and which countries fall into that category. Either way, I don't disagree with you....just stating the obvious. They are all corrupt.
  11. Yes, he's definitely a thief but anyone who knows the history of Venezuela knows they are a shady country. They sell oil to shady countries which the U.S. is trying to block. Look at the infrastructure of this oil rich country. Nothing to be proud of. Unfortunately, in this day in age, I think most all countries are shady in their own way. What a wonderful time to be living in...........NOT...pretty sad to be honest.
  12. Wow, really? We only have 3 major airports here. Can we get some soap in the dispensers in the bathrooms? Nothing will happen as usual but someone will line their pockets for sure. How about paying workers more? Probably never crossed their minds.
  13. Enough said. Sometimes people get what they deserve. They didn't have to kill him....just vote against him.
  14. Sad part is that they actually think they are doing something good.
  15. This scheme will bring in the best of the best tourist for sure.
