Chinese EV investments in Thailand linked to zero dollar tours
1duckyboy replied to webfact's topic in Thailand News
This is not how China's industries work in foreign countries. The factories are built by Chinese engineers and laborers. The infrastructure (housing, shops, services, etc.) surrounding the factories are all controlled by Chinese nationals (zero dollar). You have only to look at Laos to see this. China does not outsource, instead it competes with local foreign businesses. -
Russian woman blames period for assault on pregnant Thai shopkeeper
1duckyboy replied to webfact's topic in Koh Samui News
"Ploy noticed that the Russian woman seemed to have difficulty understanding the Thai language spoken by the locals. Deciding to help, Ploy approached and explained about the shoes in English. However, the Russian woman responded with vulgar language, prompting Ploy to ask her to leave." There's the problem. Ploy didn't realize that her attacker was insulted by being addressed in English, the language of her mother country's avowed enemy. Being a Russian b*#tch didn't help either. -

Justice minister praises Thaksin as a “peacemaker”
1duckyboy replied to webfact's topic in Thailand News
"the former prime minister is suffering from numerous illnesses." The issue isn't about the "numerous illnesses", but to what degree Thaksin's "suffering" is that it necessitates 6+ months of hospitalization. The proposed home-stay detention would render this question moot. So he's gotten the red carpet treatment, when is the parade?
