Can someone here provide some answers:

I have a temporary 1 yr car license and a 1 yr motorcycle license that I need to renew by next month to obtian the 5 year ones for both.

Can I renew one week in advance to expiration date as they will be most likely closed the week of Songkran?

Will my work permit be accepted in lieu of certificate of residence?

Do I need to provide -2- medical certificates for the 2 renewals?

That Ookla test is for Bangkok server. Distance < 50 mi. You can try select different server USA for ex and see very different results.

My wildest thoughts are that this might have something to do with new Cyber Security Bill.

TRUE mobile data much faster at home than TOT WiFi. Shame.

I just called TOT. They said they don't have any connection issue. Asked my router number. Said that I have to turn off / on router sometimes. According to technician I've never turned off my router. Anyway my router automatically reboot 5am every day, I also have done this hundreds of time daytime, also there has been several electrical brakes caused router off/on. It's so hopeless with them. They will send technician visit again. When technician comes and if run OKLA Speed Test again, I will terminate my contract and try TRUE.

Torrent is speed is pretty weird. Sometimes I'm not able to watch TV stream but I could get still 1 mb/s DL speed using torrent.

Also connect VPN to fastest Malaysian server improve speed for some purposes.

No need to be from same hospital. If you want play safe, use hospital they recommend.

Suppose my basic question is how late can you still renew a 5 year licences, 1 month, 1 year or what?

I don't have a definitive answer but I believe up to 1 year after expiration. Will see if someone has specific experience on this. The sign indicates for 1 year to 5 year you have 3 years after expiration before you have to start the new temporary one all over again. I would say it is very likely 35 days is no problem for 5 to 5.

I was there today - a few days after my birthday/expiration date. It was packed with people. But I didn't get the extra year. I got 17 days short of 5 years. No big deal.....

Last year when I renewed my DL. I went there 3 weeks bf expiry. Got new DL starting from current expiry date. So needed two use old till expiry. No zic zac with dates.

Also DTAC customer support is very rude when doing transfer. So far I'm happy with TRUE and unlimited package. I have unlimited mobile broadband and enough included calling time / SMS. During 1.5 year I never exceeded package. I pay 900 month.

Most easiest is terminate it and take new DISCOUNTED package from another provider. If your number is important you will need some Thai speaking help. Transfer is not yet working very well here. Also bills which may keen coming moths after transfer is headache.

Frequently reboots helps as router gets new ip. Sure that's not solution but indication of server problems.

Number transfer from DTAC to another operator is very painful. It took 4 months for my wife to transfer DTAC to TRUE. DTAC really won't let you go easily.

LOL. That goes to same category as problem with cable in Malaysia. Normally you always get some answer. Reality may be pretty different. I might call them and ask them move me better server "as they did for my friend".

Servers are problem indeed. Not poor phone lines etc.. Same issues with TRUE, I used before.

If you complain few times you probably will get an answer that there is calve problem in Malaysia. That's common explanation. Already heard that first time year ago.

I have fastest TOT fiber optic connection. Frequently various problems. Also last months international traffic very slow between 4 - 11 pm. Use of VPN helps some purpose. If you complain this several times, technicians will visit you and run OKLA Speed Test.

Indeed, it is big shock for many. Same has happened on many other countries when same/similar tax has implemented.

Very hard for many older/retarded people when they face truth that they don't have afford for their hard earned land/house.
