Are we playing "democracy" with terrorists?

The innocent Muslims in the world need to organise agaist the Islamic terrorists for their own peaceful living. Since the US supported Taliban got the taste of modern technology in organised terrorism during the USSR era starting from Afghanistan Islamic terrorism re-wrote safety rules putting ordinary life into a lot of trouble

State taking care of development and welfare may be the lesson - not just over allocations on defence purchases.....

I think we all have observed the direction Thailand has taken, a long time ago.

Thailand should improve its economy - to fight trafficking - not to get a "good" from Master US. There is world outside US too

Thank you very much for this very interesting presentation of contradictory values in the same family. As many social scientists explained this "conspicuous consumption" is natural in a society where material possession and luxury are valued more than humanity. The farmer family are more down to earth and realistic - not swayed much by the value- makers (be it peer group, media, movies and commercial advertisements) - They are not "noticed" but they always will be loved. They "have" less with them but they always do more.

Unfortunately, the current understanding of the concept of democracy is very limited- "a little more votes than the runner up in an election". The 'democratically' elected person or party need not even get 50% of those who went for the voting. Politician is successful when able to manipulate public opinion in an election. Most people really do not have a real choice in an election. Some people believe that it is their 'duty' to vote and votes even when they do not have a real choice. In most countries - developed or developing - winning an election means a lot of power to a group of people to increase and further their groups' and personal power, wealth and economic interests against another through 'fair' and unfair means. For the Global Monitor (the USA) democracy of another country becomes a problem to be attacked immediately only if that country has a self- respecting political leadership - whose economic interests are not "suitable" to one country that is the USA and their friendly countries in Europe.

Still maybe this "democracy" is better than rule of the individual dictator families (Kings, Rajahs, Emperors) thriving even in the 'modern' era - at least there is a namesake option for the people.

Too bad this isn't in the Southern part of the USA. They would of fined him everything in his wallet, then taken

him to the airport, and thrown his ass on the plane heading back to to (Dutchland) Netherlands? Plus stamp his passport

with a no reentry for five years!.....Who needs this type of Tourist?
