  1. People love the easy route out of saying 'they are anti Semites' and 'it is anti Semitism', it isn't, it is anti Israeli actions to the Palestinians, The Israeli get out of anti Semitism is the perfect way to basically do they want with impunity. Anti Israeli and anti Jew are separate, 1 should be tried for war crimes and the other should be condemned by all right minded people. Have any of you have ever been there and seen the way Palestinians are treated daily ?

The main objection is to illegal immigrants , those that ignore all the visa rules and just sail across from France in dinghies

We all have visas , illegal immigrants are the same as overstayers and they are not liked either

What is an illegal immigrant ? Coming over on a boat is not illegal in itself, if they land and claim asylum they are NOT illegal, visa or not, also 'Illegal' immigration is a relatively low percentage of all immigration.

Another lefty who obviously has little or no knowledge what they are talking about. Last I heard the UK was spending £8 million per day housing thousands upon thousands of these people.  I would be very very interested to learn,,, how illegal immigrants who are not allowed to work , can contribute anything to any economy, (except to the profits of  the  people traffickers and human rights lawyers )

The very essence of the UK's culture is being destroyed and people like you ( their enablers) are too blind to see it

Why don't you tell us how julie would feel having to wear a burka whilst standing in a queue, waiting for the old woman to arrive with a  rusty razor blade  to purify her with a bit of good old FGM

Your analogy to expats living legally and supporting themselves here (or anywhere else) and contributing to the economy is truly pathetic, and insulting to our intelligence,

Wake up and smell the coffee

A typical response, ignore the facts and bang on about rusty razor blades, surprised you didn't bring up rape gangs as most Little Englanders do (BTW that is also untrue)

  4. People are entitled to their opinions, it is a mystery why these opinions, especially the send em to Rwanda brigade are so ill informed, it seems their opinion is not based on fact but merely a dislike of Jonny Foreigner, even more ironic is the fact that on this site people pontificate about the UK Immigration whilst sitting on a bar stool in Nakhon Sri No-where.

It has been proved over and over that immigrants are NET CONTRIBUTORS to the economy, not the financial drain the fevered minds the little Englanders imagine. There are many studies that set this out, you won't find details in the Daily Mail or Express of course.

A link to just one of these studies The Fiscal Impact of Immigration in the UK - Migration Observatory - The Migration Observatory (ox.ac.uk)

Things are changing daily with the resignation of the UK Immigration minister unable to support the Rwanda bill . No doubt that the J.Cleverly immigration reform bill will be challenged and R.Sunak will lose a vote of confidence to remain as P.M. which will either trigger a general election or another interim replacement  P.M.

I am sad to say that as a previous Tory voter , they have handled the illegal immigration poorly . The UK has become a laughing stock to other countries in the way it has lost control of its borders and paying out millions to the likes of France , to increase their help in halting the channel hoppers ( but they have not , just took the money ) and to Rwanda to enable provision of settlement to failed / illegal asylum seekers .

The UK is seen as an easy touch by immigrants . As soon as they set foot on UK soil they are normally given accommodation ,  and also given £ 47.39 per person a day for living expenses plus free health care which includes dental treatment and glasses etc . Other countries have set up detention centers as opposed to using hotels etc for initial housing.  Back to the main topic and the increase in income requirements should not apply to those who were born in the UK or have worked and paid taxes for 30 plus years . The UK immigration has been a sleeping giant that has now woken up . Such a sensitive subject but has to be dealt with now .

Only partially true, legal refugees can claim assistance however the 'channel Hopper's' do not. Social security benefits. If you are not an EEA national and you do not have a right of residence or immigration leave in the UK you are defined as a 'person subject to immigration control' (see below) and are therefore not entitled to claim most benefits unless you come within one of the very limited exceptions.

Sorry mates, not a fan at all.  One reason I couldn't live, or even visit there.  Not a fan of Brit, or Indian food.

And fish & chips ... only one thing comes to mind.   How to ruin a good piece of white fish ...

    ... deep fry it.

When lived in Udon Thani, did eat my fair share of meat pies (steak & shrooms), but think I was there more for the pints, black & tan/Guinness & Kilkenny.   Pies may have simply been a break from Thai food & Pizza.

Was a regular at Brit Pub in Philly, during happy hour, as having one of the best beer selections.  But never ate there, which bartender always chuckled about, knowing I was going to pig out as soon as I left.

Bit rich from a yank, would you like plastic cheese from a can on everything sir?

    What about this great UK dish;

    Chicken Tikka Masala!

A sumptuous culinary wonder, foodies have long considered chicken tikka masala — with its roasted chunks of succulent chicken doused in a creamy orange curry sauce — a testament to the UK’s status as a multicultural epicentre. But where did Britain’s unofficial national dish begin?

so...your answer to the global warming debate is to cherrypick 2 years.

Please tell us about the overall trend since 1979.

SO taking 1979 as you datum point is equally cherry picking, the warming/cooling cycle last hundreds of years, 44 years is nothing to nature.

A YOUNG Russian basketball player was electrocuted to death at a community sports field in Pattaya last evening (Dec. 15) after touching a damaged light pole with other athletes revealing that there are electrical leaks at several other points too, Sanook.com said this morning.

At 10 p.m. Sawang Boriboon Thammasthan Foundaton’s Radio Centre received a report that someone had been seriously injured by an electric shock at Pattaya’s community sports field in Soi Sukhumvit Pattaya 15, and a team quickly went there.

At the scene they found Mr. Alexey Sobolev, 19, lying motionless and breathing heavily at the edge of a fence next to a light pole. They quickly gave him cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) as some athletes watched and rushed him to the hospital but he later died there.

You don’t. All three big exchange companies have Head Quarters in Bangkok.

So it is virtually certain that Wise will give the best exchange rate.

I have no information on exchange rates on any islands.

There is a superrich in Phuket, next road on from Robinsons in Phuket Town.
