You don’t. All three big exchange companies have Head Quarters in Bangkok.
So it is virtually certain that Wise will give the best exchange rate.
I have no information on exchange rates on any islands.
There is a superrich in Phuket, next road on from Robinsons in Phuket Town.

Not really true, here in the UK it is largely forgotten about, it doesn't make the news, no Hospital is overrun, we are more worried about having to take a loan to pay for a tank of fuel !

We all know two donkey wee from the CCP is of no use except for stuffing brown envelopes- and now AZ is being off loaded. Look at the UK - moving to MRNA as a booster even though the UK has massive AZ manufacturing capacity. All the Pfizer they are now about to waste on healthy children should be going to the old/sick Thais who were given CCP junk.
The UK is moving to Mrna boosters as the majority have already had AZ so giving extra protection from both types, not because AZ is no good, Phukets problem is most have had a poor vaccine.

And have good stocks of Hydroxychloraquine, Azithramiacian and Ivermectin on hand (together with daily zinc tablets) as prophylactics. [I can't be bothered looking up the correct spelling]

If you do a cheaper home test how can you show the results to them?
They require paperwork.
I'm asking for myself too as might be traveling to UK soon
You need a PCR test to enter the UK NOT a lateral flow test.

I hate to pop your idealistic bubble, such a beast as achieving full vaccination will not exist anywhere.
Any country that succeeds in attaining a ceiling off 65%-70% vaccination rate will be blessed.
You seem to have missed the word nearly full vaccination from my post, also the UK is at 75% full and 90% partial vaccinated.

Decision already made prior to meeting. CCSA has no better idea than lockdown, lockdown, lockdown!
To limit the death/long covid/ Hospital overload It would seem that is the only option until nearly full vaccination is achieved. No-one else has come up with another idea.

As a Brit it would be nice to think that some of the Astra Zeneca could be used in the vaccine programs for westerners, we can hope.
Some good news for those of us mulling over a return to the Uk , Thailand remains in the amber listing from the latest Uk government review, however not so good if it does change to red the mandatory hotel quarantine price to be paid before your return flight has now increased to 2,225 pounds. as a penalty to return to your own country.
Why is it a penalty to make sure unvaccinated people from a High Incidence Country be put in Quarantine, do you expect to be exempt because you are British ?

Meanwhile the UK is planning to offer a 3rd booster jab of Pfizer to the over 50's from next month !

What to do? Wear my mask properly and make mistakes, or lower it long enough to sign everything then pull it back up.
I have a similar problem getting out of my pick up with the a/c on.
Put your glasses slightly lower down your nose so they sit over the top of the mask. They don't mist up then

Hahahahaha...and they will <deleted> and moan if we return to the UK anytime soon unvacinated without doing the 'right thing" and self isolating. Very strange ruling that they would have us returning unvaccinated and thus potentially bringing in new strains of this pox ridden covid. Rule Brittania.
You would go into an Isolation Hotel for 14 days so you would not be bringing any new strains in.

Thanks for that, though I do note the caveat from the guy running the service.

As far as I'm aware being innoculated isn't a prequisite of travelling to the UK, so I wonder what he means when he says "Sinovac is not valid in United Kingdom"?
If you arrive in the UK and are not vaxxed you go into a Hotel at your cost for 14 day isolation, Sinovac is not recognised as a sufficiently effective vaccine so they would have to do the same.

I had no adverse reactions at all when I had my first AZ shot on Monday. Even the jab was a pleasurable little <deleted>.
Does this mean the vaccine is not working? Should I go back and ask for more?
Not at all, my wife has had the 2 jabs with no reaction at all, it all depends on the person and how their immune response is wired according to the UK boffins who have now done 75% of the population with at least 1 jab and over 50% have had both, so many many millions all with a range of side effects from none to feeling like <deleted> for days, some were worse after the 2nd Jab some on the 1st.

Surprised you dont advocate the bombing of Thailand if US nationals are not vaxxed first.....protecting US (greedy) interests of course.

Another point missed. If Thailand stays on Amber (using UK as an example but similar restrictions are in most Countries) then if you go to Thailand you not only have to Quarantine when you return but your travel Insurance is invalid. This is obviously against Thai rules for entry. Phuket will stay on the same alert as the rest of Thailand no matter what the Thai Gov thinks.

one of the criteria to move to green on the traffic light scheme is how advanced the Countries vaccination programme is, that puts Thailand more likely to go to red rather than green ! Phuket itself is immaterial, no Country is interested in grading a self declared 'sandbox'

I had the Pfizer shots, the 2nd one caused some arm pain and I felt tired for a week, that's all, medically it is still an adverse reaction. AZ tends to be bit more with the 2nd jab, it is a 'traditional' vaccine and the extra reaction (flu symptoms etc.) are actually a good sign as it is the body recognising an issue and fighting it.

It really doesn't matter if Phuket gets to 0 cases if the rest of Thailand has growing numbers.
Other Countries wont say it is ok to go to Phuket but not Thailand. It was suggested for Majorca in Spain as it is an island with low cases but it was dropped. I can see no reason why Phuket will be thought of as different to a Spanish Island.
