17 Dead in Bus Crash on Hillside Road in Prachinburi
IrishInThailand replied to Georgealbert's topic in Thailand News
Unfortunately in Thailand this is quite a normal occurrence. Do Thai's ever stop to think that they have no safety standards at all in anything they do, I wonder ? Traffic laws are not always strictly enforced or maybe NEVER !!! It must be grim on the families for sure. Sad news. Make one wonder is that Patts to BKK mini van or bus for like two and 6 in old money really a ticket to oblivion !! ? -

Beloved Brit found dead in Thailand hotel room
IrishInThailand replied to snoop1130's topic in Thailand News
In fairness that was nice....but I have seen other "efforts" and for sure MOST deceased have no wishes documented anyhow. Pattaya bay for sure a sinkhole for BKK--that we can personally gurantee anybody-Im sure you agree on that !!!! -
Perhaps that's why getting a job at Starbucks is considered a success in Thailand! While private schools could be an option for expats, they are often unaffordable. Is educating your children within the Thai school system truly setting them up for success in the long run I wonder or giving them no chance in life which is beyond repair or remedy? Its a hard one really !!!

Beloved Brit found dead in Thailand hotel room
IrishInThailand replied to snoop1130's topic in Thailand News
Some cost for sure. See this from Kevin Bell Trust : While the cost can be a major barrier for most families who have to repatriate a loved one's body from abroad – costs per repatriation can cost up to £12,000 (€14,000) depending on the circumstances of the death, local charges and hospital release costs – there is also a lot of “red tape”. But some families like a grave stone and a grave I guess. It beats maybe telling the kids/ mother wife/.. well 4 people turned up at your daddys funeral and we not sure where the ashes are now. Some drunken expat threw them in the pattaya bay sinkhole 😞 -

British man dies in failed parachute jump from Pattaya condo
IrishInThailand replied to webfact's topic in Pattaya News
R.I.P and bear in mind the family left behind. The costs to retrieve him, the dealing with Thais, the insureance company (if he had insureance for such activitys and will they pay out). Welcome to fooook load of troubles. Sad -
Sad story for sure. RIP Though I would query this "Ms Baptiste received phone calls and emails, from Bangkok, written to her in Thai, which had incorrect dates." I mean a mistake on an email regarding the date cant really point to anything or open a can of worms or "can" it? (pun) Bloody sad either way.

Foreign buyers fuel 200% surge in Thai luxury property sales
IrishInThailand replied to snoop1130's topic in Thailand News
Spoke to an agent recently. They talked about 15 percent increase in prices across the boards. How true is this ? Is anyones guess. If you in the market for hotel room size condo there is plenty about for sure in Pattaya.
