He will only change the reason for the 1 year extension from retirement to marriage. Like an earlier poster said, when there's 30 days left of his current 1 year extension he can apply for the extension. But he must also meet the financial requirements. Either 400k in a bank account 2 months prior to the application or 40k/month regular income.

he went to make his extension in July in Jontiem and they tell him he had to it from outside thailande ??

If he is currently on an O-A Permission of Stay (entered Thailand with an O-A Visa and was given 12 months Permission of Stay) he can apply for an extension based on marriage to a Thai in the last month of his permission to stay.

So do not need to go to Laos ?
Can be done in immigration office Pattaya ?

  3. my friend (not speak English) is under OA visa , he married a Thai woman this year.

He wants to transform his visa into a Marriage VISA.

His plan was to go to LAOS to do it.

But now if he come back from LAOS He will be he and his wife under 14 days quarentine.

by any chance do you know if due the COVID the immigration rules will allow him to do this Visa Marriage without leaving Thailand ?

Are you paying your bill to the condo or direct to MEA/PEA.

If you are on and MEA/PEA meter and your inverter has a "do not export" function, enable it and do all your power consuming tasks during the day.

If you pay to the condo you may still be able to sell them power, or at least get credit for the power you export.

    thank you I will try

    1) almost certainly no as you have to have the paperwork + an install by a registered installer with approved equipment and approval before starting, very few get approved.

    2) doesn’t matter

    3) very few people get approved so not much information.

    4) you will probably have to go back to square 1 and restart the install.

    5) many people don’t.

FWIW the sell back price is about ⅓ of the price you pay for your power.

Thank you so much for informations

I can confirm that the newly installed electronic meters with LCD has internal separate counters for the usage in both ways.

The display here on the meter (TOU, double tarrif) rotates showing all values; date, time, kwh import peak, kwh import offpeak, total import,  export peak, export offpeak, total export.
Extra information can be called by pushing the green button. (voltage, amps,..)

All TOU meters here are replaced by the digital one. The flat rate consumers still have the spinning wheel version but eventually will be replaced in the future.

I've read that PEA planned to change -all- meters in the Pattaya region to 'smarties'.

Perhaps others have had or can expect the same.

    thank you so much

You must file a TM-30 with Immigration within 24 hours. (There is a fine for not doing it if they find out). I've read they are checking.

You need their name, Nationality, Passport No., Date of Arrival, Type of Visa, Expiration date of Stay, Point of Entry and Arrival card (TM) number.

You can set up an account on line: extranet.immigration.go.th/fn24online/

You don't need copies of the documents but you probably should have one for yourself. They don't ask if you have a work permit.

This is done on the 2nd floor of immigration on Soi 5. The man was very nice.

    I hope this helps.

    From http://www.immigration.go.th/

According to section 38 of the 1979 immigration act, "House owners, heads of household, landlords or managers of hotels who accommodate foreign nationals on a temporary basis who stay in the kingdom legally, must notify the local immigration authorities within 24 hours from the time of arrival of the foreign national." If there is no immigration office in the province or locality of the respective house or hotel, the notification is made to the local police station. In Bangkok the notification is made to the Immigration Bureau. The notification of residence of foreign nationals is made by the manager of licensed hotels according to the hotel act, owners of guesthouses, mansions, apartments and rented houses using the form TM. 30.
The notification of residence of foreign nationals within 24 hours can be made in a number of ways to make the notification as convenient as possible:

    • In person at the respective office, or
    • Through an authorised person at the respective office, or
    • By registered mail, or
    • Via internet.

2 story is cheaper per sm, because you save on roofing/plumbing/foundation/wiring.

The price for the 2 story level is more expensive than one story , I did my one story house on a 80 cm sanitery Under house and I had big discussion bargain because the foreman was considerind as a 2 levels house, because they were considering a one level house if it was built on the ground directly , 90 square meters with laka see (zinc) all beam in iron big fondation , big pillards 950'000 THB architech plan 30'000 THB (I highly recommend ) and 3 month of nigtmare and stresss, good luck
