  1. I am looking for a colour laser printing service. I want A4 documents printed. Preferably a shop between Hua Hin and Chumpon.
  2. Some reasons not to use just one bank : - A bank employee commits some act to move your funds to another account (either by mistake or from criminal intent) - You are scammed by some electronic means (via a compromised debit card most commonly, normally would only affect one bank) - Your debit card is lost, expires or malfunctions while you are away from home area. (you can use your card from the second bank) - When I was younger I had accounts at many banks. This was to build up a reputation at each, so if I needed a loan I had options for where to obtain it. - Allows access to more credit cards. This is especially important as I have had cards expire while overseas and was saved by having several more to choose from. All that said, I keep the immigration funds in one account (just eliminates a "point of failure" when dealing with immigration), and do not use that account for anything else. We have all seen posts of mistakes made and people dipping below the required funds.
  3. @rwill That year you got the 60 day extension, did you apply for another extension when it expired? If so, was it for one year? and did it expire 1 year from that extension date or from the original? Also, was it a non-imm O visa?
  4. Due to my ignorance I went for my 1 year extension in November (for a visa dated December), not realising the implications of my passport expiring in July. They only gave me an extension to July 26, the date my passport expires. ( I have since acquired a new passport) So I thought I would go and get a new extension in the 45 day period they allow preceding the expiry. I assumed I would get an extension to the visa dated in December, but that seems incorrect. As far as I can tell they will do the extension for 1 year from July 26th. This is a problem for me as I usually spend May - August in Canada. This date does not work for me getting extensions. So I guess I could just leave as usual and get a new Non-Imm O on my return to Thailand next fall. But I was wondering if there was a way to change that expiry date to something compatible with my travel dates? I see on the TM7 a line that says "I hereby apply for extension period of temporary stay in the Kingdom for……………days" Does anyone know if that can be used to alter the expiry / renew date?
  5. But that is in the new passport, that expires in 10 years... So they must be referring to the old passport expiry. But why would the visa extend past the passport expiry if the visa expires on that same date?
  6. So I got my new passport and got the stamps moved. But there is this line that states "Visa is valid through passport expiration date". Does this mean that that the extension of stay I got on November 10 2022 is valid to November 2023? The stamp says permitted to stay until July 26 2023 which was the expiration of my old passport. Seems contradictory. I will be going to Canada in May returning in September and wondering if that extension will be valid or not.
  7. I see now, the best solution is that visa exempt option, thanks for your help! ????
  8. You can get non-o in Thailand now? I thought you had to get it outside of the realm!
  9. OK, Thanks. So the only issue for me on getting a new visa in Canada is the medical insurance requirement.
  10. Maybe things have changed? It used to be you had to leave Thailand every 3 months for the first year of the NON IMM-O
  11. @sandyfI did not want to start the NON IMM-O process all over from scratch.
  12. @ubonjoe When I got the extension the officer mentioned 45 days several times, but I could not understand what he was referring to. Is it possible that an extension can be done 45 days prior to the expiry? Or is it definitely 30 days? Any idea what the 45 days he mentioned would be about?
  13. For some reason it did not occur to me that the visa would expire earlier than "normal". Of course in hindsight it is obvious...
  14. Went and got my extension of stay recently (NON IMM-O). They could only extend it until the passport expires which is in July 2023. I will be travelling back to Canada from May to September. And was intending on getting a new passport while there. But I now realize I would be re-entering Thailand without a visa! So I am about to go to Bangkok to get a replacement passport before I leave, then get the transfers to the new passport. My question is, will I be able to extend my visa (now expiring in July) to sometime after September? (before I leave in May) Is there a limit to how far before an extension expires, you can extend it? I seem to remember something about max 1 month prior. If that is true, are there any options for me?
  15. I can't recall. Tried to find it again on JAL website, but was unable to, sorry.
