I have XP and old live msn version, today I got a message that I had to install updated msn version. I tried several times without success and read that XP users have to update to windows vista or 7.
I like XP, is there a way to continue using live msn on XP?

I am going to Europe for a few weeks, I have saving accounts with kasikorn and scb.
Can I use my debit card from those thai banks to withdraw from european atm's?
Or I am better off making an exchange in the airport? Local banks refuse to give me euros without me showing a plane ticket.

A friend of mine is going back to his home country in Europe and wants to take his personal belongings with him (furniture and harley).
He heard that you need certain documents to get your bike out of the country.
Anyone here who knows how and what?

can a 8-9 years old thai kid have land and house registered in his/her name?
-
A family (husband farang, wife thai and kid thai) has land and house registered in the wife's name.
They are going for a divorce and they want to sell the house, the father wants to take his son to his home country. The wife is staying here and could easily sell the property and keep the money.
I advised my friend to put the house in his son's name or at least check if it was possible to do so ( the son is thai and 8-9 years old).
can a 8-9 year old thai have property in his name?
another way could be to give the son a share in the company and register the property in the company, again same question: can a 8-9 year old thai kid be a share holder?

From a recent topic, it appears that there are two types of farang here that make their homes in Thailand.
1. Farangs that are treated well, if not adored.
2. And the second group, farangs that feel resented, oppressed, and (dare I say it) HATED.
Clearly this calls for a wardrobe policy, as my Thai family and friends have problems distinguishing the two farang groups without some visual clues.
Staring on July 1, those farangs that are hated will wear Homer Simpson jerseys. Color BROWNISH-PINK to conceal the puke stains.
All others will wear clothes that are appropriate for normal people.
** We have evacuation plans for a third group of farangs that apparently have been singled out for persecution by novice monks. They should continue to wear Speedos with matching black socks until the human rights task force completes their investigation.
have you nothing else to do?

This project is only to fill some pockets, you can easily count the cars using this road, impossible to justify the costs and damage

Ecuador doesn't have a retirement visa that I'm aware of, may be wrong.
Definitely wrong:
Per International Living as of April 2010:
"Retirement documents showing a stable income of at least $800 monthly, certified to be correct by the party responsible for the source of the funds, and authenticated by the Ecuadorian Consul in your country of origin."
Only $800/month for retirement residency, wow. I just found this thread. I've gotta read up more on Ecuador (and the other alternatives). Unfortunately I am seriously considering not returning to LOS after I visit the States this summer.
My priorities: Pleasant weather (70s, low humidity), inexpensive cost of living, $USD, a language easy to learn and speak -- Ecuador seems to fit. Also considering Mexico if I can find an affordable area with suitable weather.
Ideally I'd like to live an RVing life in the U.S., chasing the good weather, but it appears that is far beyond my means ($2K/month SS).
many people living in a RV have additional income from internet based business, others work a few months on camp grounds or work in national parks, not a heavy job, they choose a job where they want to stay or when they need or can use extra money.

Nobody yet mentioned this about Panama: The official paper currency is the U.S. dollar, which is accepted everywhere at the rate of One Panamanian Balboa = US$1.
After seeing my minimal monthly pension steadily decline, decline, decline since I've been here due to THB/USD rates, wherever I live next won't offer that aggravation.
I like the sound of that cool Panamanian city in the mountains (Boquette). Can't stand the heat here. When I return to the States in June I will try the RV nomad thing for awhile, chasing the good weather like my brother has been doing for years. I believe I can live ok within my $2K/mo SSA pension, plus I'll have Medicare coverage. If I get bored or antsy again, Panama will be my next destination. Not too far to travel back and forth to the U.S. for visits, in addition to the advantages already mentioned.
There are some websites about people living in an RV, they travel the whole year from north to south and claim they get by on 500-1000 USD per month.
