  1. Mr Baboon, there is differences between those and Mr T.

Kim stayed back to serve his sentence and was given an exile.

'With the intervention of the United States government,[11] the sentence was commuted to 20 years in prison and later he was given exile to the U.S. Kim temporarily settled in Boston and taught at Harvard University as a visiting professor to the Center for International Affairs.'

Bob Mugabe was a political prisoner in Rhodesia for more than 10 years between 1964 and 1974 and also stayed back to serve his prison terms.

Mr T ran and stay away and did a self imposed exile after he was convicted of a criminal offence.

  2. Spidermike007 - Your article is taken from http://draxe.com/why-you-should-avoid-pork/ by Dr Josh Axe.

Members can go read the counter arguments following this article even to the extent that someone commenting on Dr Josh Axe 'But after hearing this, it seems unlikely, to me, that you are an actual physician'

There are many more articles that had done tests and commented that there are many 'untruths' of the above article.

  3. The inconsiderate and rude Chinese are everywhere in Asia. I traveled to almost all the Asian countries. Many locals in these countries don't quite accept these Chinese behaviors but most Governments welcome time like royalties because they come in droves and are spenders. The Koreans are not much better. The best behaviors are the Japanese.

The issue is that most Asian cultures does not speak out against someone when they finds a behavior unacceptable. Whereas Westerners are more vocal.

  4. Majority of the Thais that I meet daily at least are happier these days than a year ago. At least they can carry on with their live without having to think about the inconvenient and uncertainty. Whether they support the NCPO is another matter. Sometimes you have to be hard handed to deal with the situation.

For those who uses Singapore and Lee Kuan Yew to compare to Thailand, this is what Lee Kuan Yew said:

"I have never been over concerned or obsessed with opinion polls or popularity polls. I think a leader who is, is a weak leader. Between being loved and being feared, I have always believed Machiavelli was right. If nobody is afraid of me, I’m meaningless.

The Singapore story: memoirs of Lee Kuan Yew (1997)

"I am often accused of interfering in the private lives of citizens. Yes, if I did not, had I not done that, we wouldn't be here today. And I say without the slightest remorse, that we wouldn't be here, we would not have made economic progress, if we had not intervened on very personal matters - who your neighbour is, how you live, the noise you make, how you spit, or what language you use. We decide what is right. Never mind what the people think."
Prime Minister Lee Kuan Yew, Straits Times, 20 April 1987
