Where did I say that I didn't like people tooting their horns? Regarding why I immediately think of my home state when corruption is mentioned, I made that perfectly clear in my very first comment. So, no offense intended, but if you want to be a wit then at least pay close attention to what has actually been written so you can respond to it appropriately.

We are all going to come into contact with Covid sooner or later. The point of vaccines is to give your body as much resistance to it as medically possible.

Comparing "corruption" in Thailand with expat's home countries just indicates how little expats actually understand corruption in Thailand. Like veins in a Stilton it permeates every aspect of society. It isn't just business, it isn't even necessarily money driven. It is considered by 60% of the population a necessity as it oils the wheels of government. From the highest positions to the vey lowest it is an accepted part of life.
it is graft, nepotism and corruption, dictated by Sakdina and kreng Jai - a system pretty much unique to Thailand and to compare it with the corruption of the West is to misunderstand the very nature of all corruption in Thailand
And yet, you've done exactly that!

As you very well know, I made no such comparison. I merely stated that when I think of corruption, I immediately think of my home state. Hence, you just wanted to toot your horn.

When I think of corruption, I immediately think of my home state and wonder how much Uber paid those politicos under the table in Sacramento to be allowed to operate as unregulated taxis in California. The bast**ds put me out of business.

The Queen's passing was not unexpected, but it is still very upsetting. I can remember as a young boy watching her coronation on television back in 1953 with my mother, sister, and aunt. I also saw the Queen in person back in 1983 when she visited San Francisco.

I have an electric cart that I drive along the Beach road in the bicycle lane and so far I haven't had any problems with the police. I should also add that these electric carts are getting very popular in my area.

I still think it is still common for guilty people to claim they are innocent.
I'm not sure what your point is because innocent people also claim they are innocent.

I heard everyone in jail os not guilty.
Hundreds of inmates have been freed from American prisons because DNA tests proved they were innocent of the crimes they were convicted of.

Far more! Tobacco kills more Americans in one year than World War Two did in the three years and eight months the U.S. was involved in it.

I crossed over from Morocco into Spanish Ceuta in 1963 with a fellow traveler on his motor scooter. Later, after we were well away from the border, he revealed to me the hashish he had tapped to his body. Needless to say, I read him the riot act and told him if he had been caught I would most likely have ended up going to prison right along with him. My point being, just because you know someone it does not mean you automatically know if they are involved in criminal activity.

That will be up to the courts, not the cops.

I must be missing something here because I live not too far from "Suan Son Beach" and the surf here is pretty tame. In fact, the surfing here is generally not very good---though my son said that he was able to catch some fairly decent waves yesterday on his board at Mae Ram Phueng Beach. So, I fear the good doctor may have been a poor swimmer with little experience in the surf.

No, what I said was UK health care at point of treatment is free....if you want to add the argument it is funded for by the public tax system go ahead, So are the street lights.....
Have you nothing better to do?
It's not about me, it's about your nonsensical claim that medical care is free in the U.K. for its residents there.

When they all went on benefits....or retired etc etc.
I see....so, according to you, nobody in the United Kingdom is paying taxes because everyone there is either retired or on benefits....is that correct?

Hospital treatment is free of charge for people who are ordinarily resident in the UK.
REALLY??? Well, I must admit that is quite a shocker. So, if you don't mind my asking, when did British subjects stop paying income tax?

Why would you be asking me such a question? After all, I'm not the guy who claimed people were being treated free in the UK.... every day.

People are still being treated free in the UK.... every day.
So, what do the doctors in the United Kingdom live on if they are treating everyone for free? Do they live in homeless shelters and panhandle for small change on the streets?

Right, so the trash is not coming from Thailand at all! Gottya. Probably come all the way from Australia, Singapore or Europe.
No, the point was that the bulk of the trash on the beaches in Rayong was not deposited there by beach-goers. In fact, a few weeks ago the beaches here were covered with pumice, and I'm quite certain that it didn't come from around here.

Serial Killer Charles Ng was extradited from Canada to California and he is presently on Death Row at San Quentin prison awaiting execution. However, given the current political climate in California, it is highly unlikely Ng will ever be executed.
