But to throw in a wild card.  Why do you not ditch the chair on sit on a good quality yoga/gym ball.  I injured my back surfing many years ago and then ditched the chair in favor of a ball.  It is difficult to sit on at first because you have to consciously correct your balance all the time.  But after a while this become reflex.  Every time you correct you exercise your core muscles to build strength.  I promise you it will be the best move you ever make for the ongoing health of your back and abdomen.

Thanks for the tip, I might try that!

  2. Hi, my two cents is that I bought an office chair from lazada for 1,600 and it was total garbage (the arms fell off, it creaked, wouldn't recline, the covering ripped). but then I went to that office shop B2S and found a much better quality one for 3,200 reduced from 8,300. Much better quality and they have a whole range of chairs to choose from with free delivery. I definitely recommend going to test a chair first instead of ordering online (but that's just my experience).

  3. Hi all, I'm not sure if this is the right place to post this but I'm trying to find a covid 19 vaccine for my son who is 13 years old. I've tried searching on google and visiting a number of hospitals (to pay) but was told they are only giving them to adults (18+). I found a few ads for hospitals claiming to offer Moderna shots for 1,800b but when I phoned them, they said they are out.
Just wondering if anyone on here knows - I'm in Samut Prakarn but can travel anywhere in Bangkok
    Many thanks for any help

  4. Hi all, I have a family member coming to visit from the UK and most of the requirements are clear about going from the airport to an approved hotel for 1 night, having the test etc. But he said he needs another PCR test a few days into his stay - can anyone advice where he should go and how much it costs etc? For example, is it at a hospital? Clinic? Or are there home testing kits? I'm a bit confused.
Many thanks for anyone who reads this and takes the time to apply

I would say if you are holding XRP then stick with it for now. below is a message from a friend I had the same feeling they dont want us little guys owning XRP

When you see Rothschild's owning 12% XRP

"It's all a show, there is no real lawsuit, they're working together behind closed doors. They don't want retail investors in this."

You can buy XRP on Paypal - it's hardly like "they" are making it difficult for people to buy into ????

  6. My advice to the OP is that instead of buying land (for your wife) and building a home, look around on the second hand property market. PLENTY of people desperate to sell right now and would crawl over broken glass to get an offer. You sound like you haven't bought a place here before, well trust me, many people who have bought feel trapped and find it really difficult to sell (as Thais don't like second hand homes). In case you hadn't noticed, the economy is shot right now and you won't have any problems getting a deal.

  7. Hi all,
Is there anyone on this forum with an Oculus Quest 2 who has got the latest V34 software update? I just bought a new game - Blade and Sorcery and it won't work as I only have v 33 - then when I checked it just says no update available. I just asked Oculus support and they said: "Regards to your query, please ensure you are connected to a strong, stable WIFI network, and not a hotspot or captive portal, and try leaving the headset plugged and connected to WIFI to see if any update available.
This is normal that you have not received the latest update yet, Some users get the update later than other users.

So I just wondered if anyone else had it yet? I figure it has something to do with being in Thailand where oculus isn't supported.
    Thanks

  8. Hey, I noticed that the original poster specifically wanted advice about the mobile app (not internet banking) when changing phones. I've only ever used Bangkok Bank and I have only installed it on a mobile phone that has the same SIM as the one registered with the bank. I think that you could install on a different device provided you have the registered number SIM working to receive the one time password (OTP).

  9. Hi, I don't expect any member of the consular team will read this forum much less respond, but they could be in the same boat as every other British expat (i.e. having to wait for a jab from the Thai government).

    Here's why:

in Belgium, the UK is vaccinating diplomatic staff but not British diplomatic personnel working on local contracts.

    https://www.politico.eu/article/coronavirus-vaccine-uk-belgium-deal-nato-eu-mission-brussels/

So, it's very likely the same in Thailand: UK citizens working on the consular team probably won't get vaccinated either.

I found this interesting blog where a spokesman for the DOE issued a statement to a national newspaper: https://www.william-russell.com/blog/getting-a-covid-vaccine-as-an-expat/

    Quote

Anyone who is returning to live in the UK from abroad will be eligible for the vaccine in line with the Joint Committee on Vaccination and Immunisation (JCVI) priority list. Britons living overseas should obtain the vaccine in their country of residence. They cannot arrange a vaccine in the UK from overseas.

  10. Hi, do you mean if you pay a professional firm to do the work? Or if you buy the film and do it yourself?
The film itself can be as low as 40 baht per square meter (for no-brand name) but installing it yourself can be incredibly challenging.
For a professional installation, it can easily run to 400-900baht/m2 depending on the type of film, the brand, and the installation firm. I had a rep from Lamina come and give me a quote to do my condo and his estimate was 24,000 for a total of 31 m2, with a 7 year warranty against peeling/de-laminating.
They have a whole range of different films to choose from, all with different prices. The most expensive films are the ones that block UV while letting in plenty of visible light. The price per m2 drops on larger jobs, so if you're getting a whole house done, you can expect to pay less.
Of course, you can find other firms (not Lamina) that will do it for much less, but they won't have a warranty and will use cheap film which can be depressingly dark and also ineffective at blocking UV/rejecting heat.
    Hope that helps.

  11. Sounds ideal - “For the first time it is recognised that the solution is not to make cars greener, but simply to reduce their number,” said Olivier Schneider of the FUB." - I know that electric cars have to be part of the solution, but, except for tailpipe emissions they create all the same waste as regular cars in terms of brake pads, brake fluids, tires, etc etc.

For example, almost 1/3 of all the 'microplastic' (polymers less than 5mm) in the world's ocean comes from car tires and brakes yet no-one ever considers that when they buy a new set of tires or brake pads.

  12. Hi all, I need some help/advise about waterproofing bathroom floor in a condo. As you can see from the photos, I have a tiled bathroom and water is seeping through the floors and walls. The condo management company employee is coming tomorrow to put some sealant down or something. There is no burst pipe or anything, it's just a case of water going through the tile (or grout?) and seeping into the concrete or whatever the walls and floors are made of.
If anyone has any experience of what works, what products are good, please let me know. I've been searching on lazada and would appreciate some advise about the best products. Like, is sealant enough? How often does it need to be applied? Is there a more permanent solution?
Back home, I remember seeing tins of 'concrete sealant' - like a colorless liquid that you brush onto concrete to stop water going through. I went to home pro and can't see any, nor had they heard of it. My thoughts are that's the problem - the concrete wasn't sealed before the tiling was laid.
    Thanks for any help!
