  1. Hard to believe that passenger vans only had 100 accidents in a year.

That is just 2 a week... If that was for Phuket alone I would believe it, but for the whole of Thailand?

Of course the figures aren't accurate - what did you expect?

BTW they probably mean accidents in which a fatality or serious injury occured amongst the passengers on the van. Anything else like a squashed motorcyclist or two, is hardly worth bothering about.

i agree - it would be useful if they gave the defination for 'accident' that the stats are based on
  2. Goodbye fast an efficient lines ... Hello 30 minutes to buy a liter of water.

And hello insane interest rates for the people least able to afford them.

The 2% - 3% Visa charges will now be passed along as higher prices.

    Why?

Because what has worked perfectly for decades needs to be "improved" so a gigantic Foreigner company can get a percentage of sales.

Borrowing money should be for items one most can not readily afford in one lump sum, a car, a house, a boat. Not a candy bar.

Do you really think a huge Japanese retailer is going to pay 3%?

How about people that pay off their card every month and get benefits such as cash back or airline miles?

You are thinking like a skint dinosaur

7-11 is an American company, and you can certainly use a credit card in any retailer in the U.S. One exception I know of is Winco supermarkets, where they don't like to pay the commissions. So people use cash or debit cards.
7-11 Japanese owned company not USA
  3. This is on the official day one. So all the talk from the current people in charge has done little to change things. What a surprise. What a shame of so many wasted lives. If this is a civilised world you can keep it.

Day 1 was 52 dead. This number is for both day 1 and day 2.

Still below average though so all is good.

    all is good ? Mmmmmmmm
  4. When you come to Pattaya, you need to wear a bulletproof best at all times ,also make sure you are armed and never ever walk alone after lunchtime, especially down beach rd ,there are lots of Indians who will acost you ,and blue pickups with seats in the back ,they will honk their horns and ask you to get in then try and get as much ofyour money as they can, beware it is an evil place ,and don't get me started on the Russians up in Jomtien

I assume if it's thats bad you are not here now and will never return ?

  5. The story states that the apartments were searched at the request of the Thai authorities - if true then hardly Malaysia leading the way.

Also i suspect the recent story which stated that the Thai authorities would not be sending officers to Malaysia was perhaps a red herring so as not to spook the suspects.

If anyone should be blamed for the amount of miss information we read on TV - perhaps the media should be at the top of the list - i think 'lost in translation' is the main culprit and it beggars believe at times that these stories are not proof read by someone with a grasp of the proper translation from thai to english language

  6. All we know from the report so far is that this individual is only guilty of making a phone call to another suspect and yet the headline reads 'Bangkok bomb suspect' - the lengths the media will go to with a totally unfounded headline is unbelivable but believable because all they

care about is how many readers then 'click' on the story - sad but true
